I did not do anything on Empyrion today, but I found two fellow Empyrions in another game: Alien Assassin ...and Talleropod The game name is "Resilience Wave Survival".
Today I did some creative work in experimental alpha 9. Potential updates of various BP, none of which I will be pushing to the workshop until after alpha 9 goes live and I have a better idea of what impact that really has. Spoiler: Some possible updates The Weka was submitted as part of challenge to create unlock level 1 - 3 HV. I wish there was medium containers for HV. Maybe they'll convert the old models to the new logistics, but for now they are deco. Which means the Weka uses plastic and wood in alpha 9. Granted, in the scenario I was using for this update project, the Weka cannot hover at all as 2.0 g exceeds what the hover thrusters can handle. The original Weka rests firmly on the ground refusing to move except downhill. I had to use godmode to get under the HV for some of the work just to get it upgraded to where it actually could hover. The proposed update costs twice as much, includes two container controllers but no extensions as the extensions exceed the unlock level 3 limit. With the traditional RCS, hover engines, and thruster combination, the proposed update to the Weka can easily hover and move in 2.0 g. Both new and old are unlock level 3 in alpha 9 experimental, thus keeping the Weka compliant to the challenge it was submitted to. The Turkey CV has only a handful of subscribers, but it is my personal favorite starting CV. I only have one cheaper CV both in my existing and currently planned BP. So as my preferred cheap CV when I play survival, I wanted to update this CV for my personal use. First, I toyed with swapping out the forward landing gear with something that might be integrated into the wattle for a cleaner look. The deciding factor was the meager 50 hit points of the landing gear blocks. The problem is that the wattle is where I dock the HV being transported by the Turkey. The wattle is hardened steel so that it can take a small beating and still be there for the HV to remain docked. I don't mind a 50 hit point landing gear attached to the wattle, but no way do I want part of the wattle itself to only have 50 hit points.... The Turkey is one of my CV that actually used the non-airtight cargo containers as a part of the oxygen flow. So with the conversion of storage, I had to rethink the air channel from the ventilator. The storage container above the fridge is a placeholder. Once the fridge is modular too, this space will be converted accordingly. Nowhere near as cheap as the Turkey, the Create CV is my most recent starter type CV. My favorite part of the Create is the twelve constructors. This was supposed to be a small portable factory of sorts, the raw power to build thousands of blocks for that next BA or CV. The dilemma is that now that the constructors don't have their own storage, it was a brutal hit to the storage of the CV, something it needs to make use of those constructors. I debated cutting the constructors in half and using the space to build a pair of large containers there instead. However, I decided that I could extend the existing storage along the walkways above the hangar as well as some of the back wall. As they find the balance for cargo volume and mass, maybe this storage will be sufficient. Or maybe I still need to cut the constructors in half and go with plan A, something I am trying to avoid if I can. The Frontier Perch is the most recent BA I had uploaded to the workshop. I thought it was a reasonable cost starter base, mostly wood to keep other resource costs down. But it was a part of my FTB collection, so to be consistent with the freighters and such, it was essentially a storage depot, with many cargo containers. For a moment, I considered just replacing the old containers with medium containers. But instead I chose to go with the container controllers seeing as how they were unlock level 5 for a BA. The extensions would have raised the unlock as the BA was originally unlock level 5 already. So I marked the walls and ceilings for where the CE should be added on to the five controllers. As I said, none of these updates have been pushed to the workshop yet.
I tried the quest line "Totally Overpowered" today, my CV needed EXTENSIVE repairs. The big-bad did not appear when I was on planet, I figured it was a glitch and forwarded the mission. Then I went into space, and saw the warship waiting for me. I figured it was one of those weak NPC vessels... Nope.. RUN AWAY! RUN AWAY! I warped out of that system as soon as I could, and spent some time repairing my ship.
Trying something new in survival. I spawned in my CV with no fuel. no RCS, No Warp tank and no ammo. Also some blocks on the ship need to be repaired and replaced. I am going to play survival while trying to level up enough to fuel my CV, repair it and load it up with ammo. Also the turrets on the CV doesn't work on the planet so there is no defense against the drones. I've spent most of the game getting bugs off my ship. I guess they can crawl on anything now.
So do I. Depending on the textures, I might convert more of the walkway around the constructors into the storage container(s) on the Create CV, maybe even merge them into one large container. But for now, I did what I could "live with" based on the current CE texture.
I think they copied Empyrion. The release date of Resilience Wave Survival 2.0 came after Empyrion launches the update that came with the Talleropod added.
It's not who copied who, both games use assets from the Unity Asset Store. My guess, they purchased the same assets from the store Eleon did. *** Edit *** Found one of the the models. https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/3d/characters/creatures/monster-telluropod-112766
That's a good hint for future use, but that's not the problem. (its often the problem, but not this time) the base was 456*456*48m (not blocks) I have cut it down to 400*400*48, but fear I have to cut it a lot more down before I can spawn it.
I have been exploring in my single player game, today I took a spin through the asteroid field and stopped on a space station.
Today I spent some time adding traps to the research lab. I'm not going to tell you not to cross the red line. You're a responsible survivalist and you can cross the red line if you want! Just... Bad things will probably happen.
Updated the FA-013 Cobra into the FA-029 Aeon. It's now easier to get in, easier to fly and has more storage space.
Welcome to "Ice Station Zebra" non moving HV A cheap outpost for hunting or science. Maybe a good emergency spawn base for bad situations. A 360 degree spotlight radius providing a daytime experience day or night. This combat steel outpost utility has 1 retractable turret and houses 1 individual in an o2 supplied cabin filled with all hv survival gadgets. At the same time being as small as an outdoor bathroom ! - medic console - cryo chamber - constructor - fridge - 5 cargo - armour locker - o2 station - 1 seat 2 switches for weapon, spotlights - 3 fuel tanks - 3 o2 tanks https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1591461535 night time with spotlights on
Remember two years ago when the mountains used to be a great hiding place ? lol The good old days. Has anyone noticed that the raptors in this game run just like the raptors in jurassic park? The devs must be jurassic park fans.
No drone attacks, smaller footprint. Can technically be moved if need be by adding some junk for a little while. Ultimately i made this for myself because I like cozy little cabins I can just drop somewhere on a planet and lift off again later if need be. BA devices and blocks are too big to look small and discreet for a simple shack. Not to mention dropping this wont put a big dent in the land at a location.
It gives you something small and cheap to work from while you actually make your BA would be my take. I'd thought of making something similar myself. Though with a lot more storage.
It is more of an outpost hunting lodge for me, where my base will be situated 1 part of the planet, a far reach away this will be present for me to stop off at for a quick stayover. even the smallest bases are huge and the devices are too large to make a small simple shack so thats the main reason I made this from a HV. This could double as a garden shed for someones base or for role play purposes exile a bad clan mate to work on this distant tiny outpost haha You can colour or texture this to suit any terrain also, consider leafy camo with racing green for temperate woodland or a sandy beige for the deserts.
