I worked all day, then got home around 9, sat and watched some "Who's line is it anyway?" with the GF for an hour. Then, instead of playing EGS like I had hoped to do..... scoured the forums like a crackhead sifting through a carpet. Guys, do I have a problem?
What's worse: Being sent to a Zirax labor colony? Or your prison transport crash landing on a rogue planet?
No. Does look normal to me. It took me 700 hours to build my CV...there are others, like @Vermillion who just snip their Fingers and a CV jumps to live out of nothing. I may have done it faster but I lacked the determination to do so.
Depends on whether I have something to work from for a general idea. I built the exterior of a large POI in an hour or two yesterday by simply taking a rejected concept art for a shipyard for an old game and cut it in half. Boom, instant maintenance station. I then spent most of today doing the interior, texture work and greebling. It was rejected for a reason, so in building it I customize it so much it's unrecognizable.
Zirax labour camp! give me a survival tool and a power bar and I'll break out! take a bunch of Ziraxian scum out while im at it
The last two days i addet a new starter world in my random scenario a iceworld where the player awakes in a half buried part of a crashed hammerhead (thanks to ravien_ff for the idea ) so i changed the conditions of the planet a little bit like only rocks as ressourcess , nearly no food "only verry spare corndogs , seaweed if you have luck and the generator give you seas , and sometime a cave worm that tries to kill you " and wood can you get from some bushes , i work now since 2 days on the balancing but still not happy with it , but at least the new patrol vessels works fine . i think i will change later the sky a little bit . but all this testing was helpfull to bring my starter base back to state But the last hour i was more in the mood to build one of the ships i miss for the mod the Vindicator Cruiser so i start to build one at 256m length thats all for the moment i think i will now lean back and look some episodes of good old star treck tng
Zirax labor camp for sure - they have no sense of humor, no women, and I'm positive they drink recycled waste, only without recycling first.
Ahh, but what better way to 'motivate' Players into not choosing to not escape? ... Ow... wouldn't Rubber be awful frictiontastic & make for easy acquirement of Rashes?
Today i noticed that i made the Vindicator to large so i cutted it down from 250 to 200 meter , after that i made the interrior and finished it then i started a Victory II class and finished it and at least i tried to build 2 of the star wars walker a at-st and a at-dp . the imperial II is just for size comparison i did not use the canon version of the Victory II it is more a mixture with the hull of the canon and the superstructure of a version made by fractalsponge , he made some of my favorite star wars modell . the stats and at least
I just have to ask - is it the blocks? Is it the number of LEGO sets that have been released over the years? Is it Disney's acquisition of the Star Wars franchise? What is it that moves so many people to recreate Star Wars ships? Don't get me wrong, they looks great, I just wonder what the motivation is here. There aren't a whole lot of ships from other Sci-Fi source I would want to recreate here, and the few I would are too organic to look right made from blocks (Moya from Farscape, Babylon-5 Shadow ships, Species 8472 Bioships from Star Trek: Voyager [this one might be possible as passable]), but by and large, I simply enjoy creating my own, unique ships.
@IndigoWyrd : no dont know what LEGO releases in the last 30 years "that was the last time i played with lego " and Disney is the biggest enemy of every real star wars fan , for me it is the shape of the late republik/imperial ships i realy like those delta shaped ship's and i like the flow of combat with capitals in star wars "like with the first ironclad's that fought on sea" , speacily those organic looking ships are not my ship's im favor more ships like those from gundam or stargazer . And it is not so that i only build ships from star wars i build some ships from the expanse to and acouple of ships from Elite Dangerous and sometimes i design self some crap but im most time not sattisfied with my own designs so i dont publish them
I've tried, so hard, to watch The Expanse, and failed every time. Of all the Star Wars films, the original and Return remain my favorites. Of the new movies, I didn't mind Solo. I did incite riotous laughter in the theatre during, I don't know which one, when Kylo took off his helmet and I blurted a bit louder than intended "Ugh! Put it back on!" Episodes I-III were. That's about all I can really say. They were. Rogue One... was about an hour and 20 minutes too long. Of course, nothing can compare with "The Maker's" epic... The Star Wars Holiday Special. Can't blame that on Disney. On coke, maybe, but not Disney. I can certainly appreciate the appreciation of the ship shapes though - was just a curiosity of mine, as I've seen a lot of people making various SW ships.
@IndigoWyrd I don't like the new movies "force awakens and last jedy" one of those points are this "mary sue" character , to be honest i realy hate those movies , luke had a learning curve he needet to learn to use the force and the lightsaber , even anakin had his learning time "between episode 1 + 2 " , but mary sue ähhmm i mean ray , she need it now so she can do it perfecktly on grand master grade , i would understand if she can repair the falcon doe of her scavanger experience or improvised light saber combat but not both on master grades . another point are the charackters at all , all those good and bad ones are so hillarious pollarized that they seem unrealistic and some even look ridiculous , in terms of the story i don't even remember it , but i remember that i got i big bad grime when the plans of the resistance admiral fails and the escaping shuttles got the main target of the imperial fleet it was so satisfying . but there is one concession i have to make the mandalorian , i dont know if it is just out of range for MM or if it got overlooked , the mandalorian was nice What the many star wars ships concerned , i think that is related that many people think "a big triangle that cant be difficult to build" espacialy that would particularly explain the garbage designs in the workshop , like a big flat asynchron triangle with 2 blocky rooms on the top , but i think there are still many fans wo all want to try to make there own varriant , like me i noticed that he most creators use mainly full blocks so the ships looks in a close view a little to mutch minecraft style for me
