When devices are switched off they have no CPU to use !!! So if I switch off the weapons, constructors, etc. to have more for the engines, that must be possible. Or when I am stationary I switch off the engines to have more power for the other things.
Somewhere around here I have a big thread about CPU and what could be done to improve it greatly... https://empyriononline.com/threads/...enders-at-the-moment.91488/page-6#post-383022 There it is, just one page back.
Ok, I have to call you out on this. Really? "the newest of newbies" you are so off base with this comment. A new person isn't going to "know" any of that stuff. They are trying to learn the basics. Get real.
In this day and age, how many people really don't do at least some basic research before delving into a game? Between forums like this, YouTube videos, even Steam's sub-par forums, there is a plethora of information out there. The time it takes to download and install this game is more than time enough to discover the Workshop, and I'll wager the average, even slightly below average Steamer knows about the Steam Workshop, so its possible for someone to already download a number of blueprints before they've even started to play. That's real. Where's yours?
I would be willing to bet that a decent portion of most gamers don't do any real research other than watching a trailer or two. I see a steady stream of players in all my online games that don't even bother to look in the settings to review basic controls before jumping onto servers.
These are the ones who, after an hour of spamming chat with "Can I haz chezburger?" (or whatever they happen to be begging for in some poor excuse of language) disappear, n'er to be seen again.
So what does knowing about the workshop have to do with know all about how the CPU system works? How to place thrusters in the right place to get six degrees of movement? Not to mention the build system itself? Your statement was absurd on it's face. No, "newest of the new" is going to learn all that while the game installs. Face it you were wrong. No amount of talking on your part can change that. Oh wait, I forgot all these newcomers are speed readers, who can also zip through a forum's thousands of posts, not knowing what they are even looking for, find said information, start the game with the full knowledge of all the little details of the game needed to make all the great ships in the game. Yep forgot about that.
I am guilty. I never look at videos or how to on a game before I download it. I enjoy trying to figure it all out on my own. I rarely ask for help in chat and I usually stick to one game for a long time unless it turns out to be a lemon
Me realy i never look if i dont need , i like those moments when i just playing arround and find complete new thinks . For me -> klick on install , going to kitchen and starting the water heater to make me a coffee , commin back while water is still heating and press play , going back to wait for water and make the coffee decide to pull out some chicken out of the freezer and cutting some veggies and onions for chicken sweet sour , comming back to pc , game is still loading .
Face this - you're arguing for the sake of arguing. I said, and I requote: Now, where in there did I say they're been magically imparted with "all about how the CPU system works"? Nowhere. Where did I say anything about placing thrusters anywhere? Oh, that's right, I didn't say that either. As a matter of fact, I went on, in the very next line to say: And guess what? This doesn't require much at all to figure out. But you just want to fixate on the first part of this, and for what? Hmm? Seriously, for what? Yeah, that's what I thought. But do go on and tell us all about your advanced degrees from the Empyrion Center for Rocket Science or whatever stick you have so far up... you know what, this isn't worth my efforts. You just want to argue to argue and I'm done wasting my time on you.
So knowing how to”do what the original author has not, and update it themselves” take zero knowledge of the build system, how to place thrusters, what RCS's are and do, and the build system in general. This total newb is going to learn all that, while the game installs. Sure he is, I am sure he knows that he needs to look up all that specific information. In your dreams.
You know, it took me a while, then I realized who I was talking to... and then I realized what this really is all about. You're still sore from my calling garbage garbage. I still won't recant, and you're still grossly underestimating what someone can accomplish in this game. It's really not that complicated, or as complicated as you want it to be. I can draft a guide to teach someone how to bring a ship into CPU spec in less time then it will take for that stinging sensation to go away. Probably less than a page, less than a dozen pictures, and someone with an 87 IQ would be able to follow it. This game is just NOT THAT COMPLEX. It's not Kerbal Space Program. It's not Space Engineers. It's not even Minecraft. The Red Stone system in minecraft is far more complex than ship-building here. We're not going to get anywhere here though, so it's really for the best we let this go, leave each other alone, and go back to what we were doing. Since I know you have to have it, the last word is yours.
So we can craft these now. In order to upgrade my CV and SV to T3, I ended up mining out all the gold patches of an entire solar system. That was it - no T4 upgrade possible or T3 upgrades for other vehicles other than by luck / trading posts. And this was with rich and plentiful resource patches, never mind on a normal setting. OK, so I had some gold left over, but not enough to be much use for anything - few gold coins maybe. Pretty much anything with shield on it will need to be T3 and anything without shields is going to get chewed up pretty badly assaulting a POI (unless you do something cheesy that I would hope get fixed in time...) with more than just a couple of easy picking turrets, so sticking with tunnelling and sapping I guess I in which case - vehicle not needed at all beyond it capability of a loot transport and tunneller. The next solar system is 745 AU away - a bit beyond the 500 AU capacity of my CV... [Edit: Since then - I have started to wonder if they was just a bad solar system - on my current play though for eg, I have mined out several gold asteroids and have 000s of gold ore - though it is set to rich and plentiful].
There is at least one alternative source of gold: EVA Boosters. Throw them in a deconstructor, gold comes out. These are pretty common loots from POI's. There is also an alternative source of Bridges and Matricies - Polaris Merchants. There's usually at least one who sells these, though they are expensive, it's not like we actually need credits for much of anything.
At 1 gold ingot per it's going to take you a while, and you may run out of POI's to loot before you get anything significant in terms of gold from EVA boosts. Better off selling the EVA boosts and using the credits to buy gold ingots from the trader that carries them. They are correct though, there isn't enough gold in the default game if you are playing with CPU active. Not even close.
Desert golems drop 1-3 gold ore on death. Very Rare and Ultra Rare loot containers now contain up to 4 optronics instead of just 1 with a much higher drop rate. It's not as difficult as it used to be. Very Rare and Ultra Rare loot containers also contain 15-35 gold ingots as one of the most common loot items. In a default survival game there is around 500 gold ore per deposit on a lava planet, with 2-4 deposits per planet. Other planets also have gold deposits.
