Used my time on this Pretty Ice cube to upgrade a Base of mine. CPU and you...raised from T1 to T3 and from level 10 to 20. Base contains several Cargo Container, 1x 320k CC, Shield T1, 14 Turrets (Minigun, Rocket and Sentry) 1x T2 Repair Bay Food Processor and two Fridges. Opposite to the Shield Generator and by removing Deco-Blocks is Space for Offline Protection too. (BA) MH-ComCenter L20, T3
I've been doing another major refit - my starter CV this time. Reworked the front and bridge, extending the drive pods to allowing adding an addition pair of lift thrusters to each of the 4 lift groups for very high gravity worlds and a bunch of other structural tweaks. It is intended to be built in stripped down form at level 10+ as a T2 ship with minimal resources, that can be scrounged on the starting planet mostly from wrecks. About the only thing you may need to trash some POIs for is the cobalt. Initial build also assume you don't have an advanced constructor,, so the grow plots are left off. From there, upgrade thrusters, upgrade everything else as needed and you get unlocks or special needs come up (very high gravity world for eg). At L25, I tend to add mining lasers and it become my asteroid miner. While it can be armed to the teeth with 20+ designated turret mounts, this is really for flexible pest control purposes and anti-drone/anti-infantry and not for POI assaulting. Equipment: 2 x 320k cargo/ore storage (one can convert to ore if you add mining lasers @ L25), 1 x 80K ammo, 10 x 16K containers, 3 x fridge 2 x adv constructor, 3 x food proc, full repair facilities (internal), clone, medical, o2, showers (for de-rad), toilets (for those dodgy vindaloos). 8x Fuel tanks, 6xO2 tanks (room for many more), 3 x T1 Generators (starts with 2), room for several more should they be needed later. 54 x grow plots Gravity, T2 Shields Warp, room for T2-T4 CPU extenders. Captain's quarters, Crew quarters (each with own shower/toilets) Large bridge with completely unobstructed view from pilot seat Mounts for: 4 under-slung retractable sentry guns 6 lasers (inteded for mining lasers) 1 tool turret 20 additional weapon turret mounts 5 more under slung retractable turret possible inlcuding at a strect an 1 large retractable artillery turret. Hangar - 1 9x9 pad with repair, 2 x 5x5 mini bays (for small HVs) Extenal - 2 x 7x9 on external upper flight deck which can be use as one for another small CV. Thrusters can be (and are expected to be) upgraded as materials, unlock become available. -- My little high-G world pillaging CV parked on the external pads.
The last two Days I took some time off from EGS. Played a now 9 Years old MMO - SWTOR - after re-installing it around Christmas. As it is a bit of a Challenge to "re-learn" the game again I just created two new Toon's to get into the game mechanics again...one on Sunday and one Today... 9 Hours Playtime are going by without even noticing it. In the meantime I found two new Pictures on ArtStation and DeviantArt that poke my interest to build them. One is sort of a Base Module and the other a CV that goes more for the type of a Hive-Ship. Well, since my stuff is now public I can reveal (just) the new orbital patrol vessels I was working on. These are for CV-vs-CV PvE combat. They're loaded with very rare and ultra rare loot containers and a full set of CPU extenders, as long as you don't destroy the whole thing. They also have troops that will spawn when boarded after being disabled. These are just Polaris. Zirax will be next and they'll have bigger guns. Destroyer - Rear Frigate Bridge. Frigate torpedo bay. Been playing in survial... Made an SV transport for my Mobile Quarters HV. I call it the Celestial Crane. Still need to finish up the framing, interior.... and throw some textures on it.... But so far, I am happy with it.
With nothing to build on the immediate agenda, I decided to follow through on the Talon POI I promised for @Taelyn™ So this is today's work. It's finished for the most part, just needs texturing and coloring. I've done half of a once-over in full block color and textures, but no fine work. The Talon Ziggurat is a mix of ancient Mesopotamian and Mayan architecture, like the Talon Bazaar (which I also built) and will have similar colors and textures when i'm done with it. Interior, Temple main room. Those hanging wood panels will be painted and decorated as banners. It was originally supposed to have a maze underneath, but the class size is already dangerously high for a planetary POI and it's not even that big (all the pipes and round shapes, I suspect).
I was just goofing around today, spawned the old Talos cruiser and spend some time updating it. Then gacked it. It got me to thinking, do the devs want to save the pre-alpha builds? Maybe have the devs open a thread with the builds they would like to have updated for the current game version? I understand that the devs are very busy working on v12, so having the community update the old builds would allow the devs to keep them in the game and spare them the time it takes to update them. The only rule would be that the build must be recognizable as the old build with minimal modifications. Then again, they may want to just replace the old builds, but I figured I would throw that thought in the void.
I'm mostly done with the interior of the crashed prison transport for the new starter planet. Now I just need to work on the outside View of the bridge: Why does a prison transport have a lab? To experiment on the poor prisoners, of course! (The Zirax are bad) Some random corridors: The outside needs a lot of work now: (Yes, this is "day time" on the rogue planet. It's at the edge of the solar system so it's going to be really dark).
