By this I mean all the foliage on the planet that evolved bio-luminosity and I know it would probably require assets for creatures to have the same effect. A while back I was playing Stellaris with the Distant Worlds mod and one of the worlds in that mod is a Bioluminescent planet which really stuck out cause you could see the glow from orbit. It makes me wonder if it would be possible to get such an exotic world in Empryion for another type of REALLY alien ecosystem.
They would need to add in the planet deco. However, you can make your own... Sort of. I made planets with bioluminescent beaches and ocean planets with glowing "life" but it's all faked.
like the look of that but yeah. guessing you somehow managed to get some emission glow to add onto that stuff in order to achieve that look.
What your asking for is not technically possible with playfields alone, no. There is no way to make water glow that I am aware of. That said, you can place POIs specifically in water, which if properly configured, will appear underwater. Using alien blocks and an admin core a player would probably not tell the difference tbh.
If the developers could put it in it would be great though I am not sure how much it would affect performance for the game if one was on the planet.
I think it'd be possible to modify terrain biomes to react to explosions and footsteps in a manner similar to videos in California about luminescent beaches. Although it wouldn't be something a player can do today, something that would need to be added in the future (would be really cool for alien planets!)
I know you can change the colour of the textures to make it brighter, but I guess that's not quite the bioluminescent you were thinking of? Can change the smooth value too to give it the appearence of a shine (that I've noticed so far), but again that's not really bioluminescent
You CAN in fact give textures on planets a "Glow" effect and change all kinds of things about how they look. If i recall correctly... By adjusting these lines... Brightness: 120 #Glow Saturation: 10 #Impact RGB: "(1, 1, 1)" #Color Smoothness: 0 #Fuzz no Fuzz (I think) You can change how a texture appears. You can find these lines in the terrain.ecf file. Play with them a bit Works REALLY well with textures like Promethium that already have a glow effect. You can change their color too. Im pretty sure you can add glow, and change critter colors too? Its been a minute lol You can also adjust, if im not mistaken, colors and such of plants and rocks...
I know we can colour the planet biome's however we wish, but the plants/rocks etc? That I wasn't aware of, how is that done? Sounds interesting
Its a unity thing. Im not really sure if they have that implemented In Empyrion honestly. Hence why i said "You can also adjust, if im not mistaken, colors and such of plants and rocks...". I could be wrong on that one.
Sweet.. @ravien_ff needs to know this if he doesn't already... but then, being the scenario guru, he probably does
That sucks. Because Unity is capable of passing those, like all other values, to the yaml for config.
