I was disappointed with that limitation as well. In a perfect world, the SV or HV (or both) would be docked in the POD and the POD would then be docked to the front boom of the freighter. Plan B is to have a sufficiently-sized docking area in the Freighter to hold the SV and HV craft for each POD. Will have to transfer the craft to the POD before deployment to the surface. Have not decided on the actual design for this yet.
Lol, you should be toast if you get so close. I imagine the gravity pull must be really freaky there IRL
My question is ... If you get to close, does it squash you like a bug? Or, does it open a Worm Hole to another galaxy where you find yourself hurlting towards another planet in an escape pod and when you land, you find yourself with zero experience .... hmmmmmm.
As with the Stars, the Black Hole is a background image. So no, It doesn't do anything, Yet, at least..... That said: We poor earth-bound beings have no real appreciation for size. You could possibly fit the distance between the sun and Pluto 6 times between my Leopard and the Event Horizon of the Black Hole. It IS Super Massive, after all....
Might be cause we are barely able to comprehend such massive sized objects Anyway, I've been watching some Jeff Randals videos and tutorials to get some ideas for the CV, and I have to admit, it felt like looking to the kitchen of Gordon Ramsay... minus the swearing of course
Would you be so kind as to put a solar panel up there? I'd like to know how much of power a black hole would produce.
Part of me would like to say nothing, since black hole kidna sucks light in instead of shining it out but then again... ... I'll show myself out.
The black hole itself - sure. However around it matter getting sucked in would be getting trashed and that would emit light and other radiation. Enough for solar panels? No idea
Played around with a simple minimalist turret emplacement. I left the actual turret out of the BP so I insert whatever kind of turret I need as soon a I spawn in the BP.
Nice I would pull all the internals down by a couple of blocks otherwise rocket explosion (from rocket drone) will take out everything in a single hit even though the turret will survive. Worth adding wifi for re-supplying it as well. I have something similar - . Mine is deeper than it needs to be for protection, but that is to I can place it in shallow water, or uneven ground etc.
I decided to prioritize having something super cheep and disposable over durability on this one. The idea being that I can just plop these down for a little bit of protection while I mine up some ore or whatever then wonder off without feeling like I'm leaving resources behind. There not meant to be used on any kind of permanent basis. Beside, I'm not convinced that blast damage is even supposed to pass through block the way it does now. I have a bug report for this open now for this but even if its not considered a bug, I would say its bad game mechanics at the very least and needs to be fixed. I actually do a free block right next to the core that is reserved for a wifi controller. I decided to leave it out of the BP because I would consider wifi as "nonessential". I plan on setting one or two of these up just outside the turret range of any shielded POIs to batter down the shields.
Today I expanded my little Modularity II throw down base for storage, garden and parking space ... storage for the next POI that I have my eye on ... ALN Factory . Now the question for the day ... I need turrets -n- stuff for my HV. Is it considered "cheating" if I make a throwaway HV in Creative that has all the blocks I need and then purchase via the Factory since I haven't unlocked the items yet --OR-- Is that just making good use of the game functions and options? Hmmmmmmm .....
Well considering quasars can outshine their entire galaxy, they could probably give decent power to solar panels.
Today in Empyrion I took a moment to appreciate a perfect circle... That is after I realized I need to scrap it and get REALLY crazy.
Looking forward to it! Today I worked some more on my galaxy generation. Trying to get that all set up, and then I'll tidy up the PDA and work on some Kriel and Progenitor planets hopefully in time for A12's launch.
Finished adding detail to the outside of the CV and decided to texture/color it. That's when I realised I build myslef into a tight spot with the massive amount of traingles I bult the ship from, since it severly limits the choices of textures that look good on it. So far it looks like this, and I'm still repainting sections oof the finished stuff, to figure out what works... I still think there are too meny texture types on that...
