Structural integrity - pretend you are building it in ancient times - stone-henge era should just about do it.
I wonder how many HVs would be able to drive to that Ravine Edge at full speed then just simply hop over it...?
finally I finished creating the ship’s hull ... then the inside, then the textures and coloring of the exterior and interior ....
For many a year I would scout out ravines and semi-crater like mountain formations fiendishly cackling in my mind that there, there was an excellent place to build a base! Only to forget each time and be foiled by SI.... If anyone can pull it off it is you Jade, I am eager to see what you come up with.
Slowly but surely getting the band back together... Last night and this morning I cleared the starter system moon of all zirax fortifications. I haven't seen much in the way of reprisal yet. The zirax seem to be using my increasing assaults as an excuse to further subjugate their people, instead of treating me as the threat I truly represent. They will pay for their hubris. In my next playthrough, anyway. I want to see those new starry space scenes.
There is always this approach: The one on the left is an HV (canyon - ugh), the one on the right is an SV (what canyon?) My little micro miners
So, maybe I missed something, I haven't fully probed the forum yet to see what I missed the last few months, but... I don't remember how to do a spoiler warning thing... so spoiler warning? These columns are made of alien blocks in the Titan wreckage. This is the pentaxid tank room. Checked on the Titan that sits outside of the space station in creative, these are steel beams there. Did something "alien" ish happen during the "event"? Did I miss out on important dialogue in the mission while being radiated and frozen to death? Am i reading too much into this and there is not actually a hint of a deeper conspiracy or something that the devs/builders have slyly placed?
Working on an X frame SV and once done decided to take it up for a spin. Unfortunately found myself in heavily defended Zirax airspace and had it blasted out from under me. Fortunately survived the SV's destruction. Unfortunately was still over 100m in the air and plummeted to ground. Fortunately managed to actually survive the fall with some HP loss and a broken leg. Unfortunately the place I landed was shared by a squad of Zirax ground troopers who proceeded to finish the job.
Tonight I am going to try to finish up the first two parts of a new mission for my scenario. I'll report back how it goes. It's just the texturing. Alien blocks are being used there for the radiation they have. That alien texturing probably shouldn't even be visible unless you start salvaging the ship.
Started to build a new HV on Dread. Will have about 6k Storage, up to 3 Turrets, 2 Gatling Guns, Constructor, etc., and enough space to bring it from T2 to T3 after adding a shield too.
Not entirely, it's a very extensively re-worked Free Trader from Traveler that's no longer on the Workshop... this is the original thumbnail: There might be a quarter of the original block positions, and they all had to be replaceblocked. It was outdated when I d/l'd it in 2017 Redid the hull and still working on the interior The org author is dirtydogofdeath, who also did the Warhound that's ingame as a freighter
Not quite finished yet, or quite what I had in mind originally, but happy enough with how its turned out.
Reforged Galaxy Mod Test. Went back to the starter planet to clear out the Abandoned Bunker, which surprisingly I have never done. I parked the Stratus over the courtyard, which is a perfect fit. A fun POI. Died once to a surprise attack from 3 nightmares that shot up an elevator faster than they can walk while I was reloading my flamethrower. I can conclude that the flamethrower is easily the best for dealing with scorpions, but the minigun is probably better against a horde of nightmares. I'm carrying a T2 shotgun, but i've found the minigun and flamethrower are better against high-damage melee creatures, while the shotgun is better for zirax at close range. Having gone back home, I decided to cheat in some stuff to test against zirax POIs. T3-4 SVs and a second Stratus equipped with a shield generator, for dialling in the shield strength. Of course, space drone damage modifiers weren't standalone. I found those insane 60x, 30x and 15x armor damage modifiers hidden on regular and base attack drones, which means that different armors are identical in durability against drones. That's unbelievably stupid. Anyway, damage-wise the CV vs POI was a good fight. Without my shields the stratus doesn't stand a chance against a group of POIs and i've found some irritating weaknesses on the stratus that pretty much grounds it if it takes a rocket in the wrong spot. The zirax rockets are awesome to watch and fun to dodge. A bit hard in a CV that's gliding over, but put on some speed and they can be outrun. They don't do as much damage as they used to to shields. But it doesn't take a lot of them to bring shields down. Easier done in an SV. Got too close to the Drone base on this run. Look at all those rockets and their homing abilities are better than what the player can field, but they're really slow (50m/s). Just need to turn and outrun them... in an SV. And here's that weakness. The ammo controller is right there and when it goes boom, it takes out the fuel tanks and a thruster. Stupid drone base... You ruined my test. I still got pretty far away before they caught up to me. I have concluded that for heavier SVs using hardened steel and combat steel, they're better off using turrets and focusing on flying than trying to line up sights against a POI while their handling is too slow to pull up afterwards. Leave the fixed weapons for lightweight fighters. The improved boosters on SVs give you a much higher thrust when activated, but you risk burning out your generators if you keep it up for too long. Great for bombing runs and taking off with heavy loads since it lets you bypass the max speed limit further than normal (normally you'd get an extra 5-10m/s or so, with RG you can easily get an extra 40m/s over the limit for a short time).
It's: [ spoiler ] & [ /spoiler ], with the spaces inside the Tags removed. For bonus points, the first Tag can also be fancy schmancy & go: [ spoiler= bla bla bla Text ]. Close it with the same closing Tag. Example: Spoiler: Click meh for Open Sesame... Seeds. What has been seen in here can never be unseen... Oh, & the Sesame Seeds was a Cake-like Lie. Or this works too. Fixed. Gotta be careful there, or peeps might run into Creative to play with new Combat Steel for SVs that doesn't actually exist, find no SV Combat Steel, then feel Trolled and Rage... ya know how Rabid the Fanbase can get. *Feels Rabid Fanbase glaring at me...* What, ya know who ya are, & ya are who ya are. Sometimes the Elephant in the Room deserves to be Pointed Out.
