Alpha 12 only A small, high capacity transport - it carts stuff from A to B. More specifically it is intended for offloading auto miners to a local (in-system) storage/processing facility. It is armed just enough to clear away drones camping your mining site - this is all I use it for. With alpha 12 adding teleporters, then often I make little auto-miner collection centers which are basically just storage, sometime a furnace and this transport. Then I can tp to the outpost, jump in this thing (previously would use a CV), do the rounds and tp back to wherever I was - no need to jump all over the universe anymore except for occasional trips to pick up bulk from storage once I have 300k+ of ore to collect. Usually however, stuff ore in furnace then stuff ingots in factory. - Tier 2, Level 10 unlock - Cargo storage is 32k (5k iron ore for eg) - 500 Ammo capacity (enough for a few rockets to clear away drones) - Small enough to fit through a 5x3 hangar door and doesn't take much room on a landing pad. - Lots of lift thrust - enough for a full load of sathium ore in 1G. - CPU available to replace the two gatlings with homing rocket launchers if suffering from drone infestations. - Control Panel switch to disable some thrusters when not needed to save fuel https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2115695079 It handles like a barge, looks like a barge - because it is a barge (Actually handling ain't that bad - you can chase a drone in it).
Alpha 12 only A medium size, mid game dedicated fighter/assault SV for use on planets. It is basically a larger, better armed and shielded version of the SF1 (a few posts back), but still remains very agile. It's also reasonably priced for this vessel's combat capabilities, although it is intended as a mid-late game SV. It's loosely inspired by the Pelican Dropship in Halo, and is designed to fit in the hangar of another one of my workshop items; a tier 2 CV called ÆZRA. Well I finished the unfortunately wang-like SV. It's a pure combat, T4/L20 POI smasher. Bristling with weapons, very agile, hardened steel everywhere external. No warp drive or even a constructor since it's intended to be deployed from a carrier or base.
