Yes, they weren't that great in my prior vanilla game where they worked. However, as I'd set myself a goal to capture POI's as intact as possible - not my prior way of neutering their defences with a nimble SV - I quite liked the "free" fire power. Issues with CPU - or lack of it - made it less effective than you'd think. In my more recent vanilla play-through NONE of the Alien Turret on captured bases fired even once after I placed my own Core. They'd not even rotate to face a target and were basically totally disabled for me. I've not personally experience them having a few rounds left in the Turrets, butt that does sound like a fair compromise between infinite bullets and no bullets at all. I'll have a play around with the next POI I capture. @EternalHeathen - you named an HV after me? I'm touched Scoob.
Unintentional... or I'm stalking you through Polaris spy drones. You can be proud though, after a few thruster upgrades and titanium plate upgrades she's holding her own.
On an unrelated note, I've found lots of Weapon Upgrade Kits this play through so far. However, I only find the Heavy Weapon Upgrade kits. I'm up to 15 of these now, taken from various Zirax (the latest from a Commander) as well as possibly general loot. It'd be great to find some of the other kits... Is this just poor RNG that fifteen upgrade kits spawned in loot (Zirax or perhaps other places) have all been the Heavy variant, or is this perhaps a slight bug with loot tables. I've no clue how loot tables work mind lol. I have a fairly decent CV now, it even has a a T2 Shield - which is dead rare for me - and I've been attacking various POI's on the Dark Rogue Moons. My current target is the Crashed Drone Carrier - bloody awesome POI - though my CV was able to soften it up a bit by taking out the turrets. However, the various holes this left in the POI make exploring trickier, thankfully gravity is low Scoob.
Haven't been ingame since this morning, but I'm pretty sure last I checked I'm sitting on one pistol upgrade kit and 3-5 heavy weapon kits. Maybe the heavy weapon ones are weighted heavier since we need them to make the rocket launcher and or plasma cannon from scratch?
Minigun Zirax are the most common zirax, miniguns are heavy weapons so they all drop Heavy Weapon Kits. Rocket zirax while rarer also drop heavy weapon kits. Sniper zirax use the same loot list as minigun zirax so they also drop HWK. Shotgun zirax and laser zirax are slightly less common and drop their respective upgrade kits. So you're more likely to get HWKs over the others (sniper kits are found only in loot containers, rifle are dropped by zirax commander I believe) simply due to enemy distribution.
That makes sense @Vermillion, Minigun Zirax are pretty common and I also see lots of Sniper Zirax - who should ideally be dropping Sniper Rifle upgrades I'd have thought. Also, the "minigun" zirax seems to actually be using an AR, based on the ammo they drop. Regardless, it is unfortunate that I've only gotten Heavy Weapon Upgrade Kits, as they're not so useful. On a similar note, I killed a Zirax Commander last night, thought I might get some decent loot but all he had was 89 alien blocks... Scoob.
The (Tra)Trading Station in the Epsilon I sector is not aligned with the Horizon it is somewhat tilted
Hey everyone, Recently setup a dedicated server with project Eden and Reforged Galaxy(started with 1.35 updated the scenario folder with 1. 37 hoping it would fix my problem), I manage the server with EAH. I've run into a problem certain items get stuck In the constructor, as in all the resources are there and it will queue but won't build also won't remove from queue only way to remove it is pickup the constructor. So far I have found the mechanical drill and the grow plots do this. I'll be reposting this in the other thread just in case this is the wrong place for this problem. Thanks ahead of time hope someone can help I'm at a loss.
Finally got two well-stocked warp-capable SVs (one for me, one for my dad), and we're ready to leave the relative security of Akua and it's two moons. Really excited to visit some custom planets, but when I look around Akua's solar system, it looks like mostly vanilla planets... Now wondering are most of the PE custom planets in other solar systems? Also curious, how to tell which are which? (custom vs vanilla) (Btw - In past vanilla playthroughs, we hadn't necessarily progressed/explored enough to know the difference vs playing with PE now. Also, avoided looking at the planets pics on the thread here, so we would be surprised upon arrival at the new worlds.) Thanks!
That was weird. I finally built myself a decent, armed Mining HV and went out to gather lots of resources before finally leaving this planet. I return to my CV and all docked vessels have GONE. My starting HV is gone - no major loss - but so is my nice "Hauler" class SV. Anyone else seen this? Note: I had driven all around the planet in the HV, leaving the CV safely parked. Note 2: The Registry still shows the missing vessels as being under 20 Metres away - i.e. in the CV with me...weird! Save / Reload fixes things...fine for me in SP, but not so simple in MP. Scoob.
Yeah most of the custom planets are in other solar systems. If you're not familiar with the custom planets it might be hard to tell the difference between them.
Hey again. Not sure if this is an issue in vanilla too, but, once again, I'm having Drones spawn right on top of me. If you recall my first (and only, so far) death was caused by this and it's occurred a number of times now. First time I was right outside my base when a Rocket Drone spawned right on top of me. Just now I had it occur again with TWO Drones appearing right on top of me. I was standing near my CV at the time, which made short work of them once the turrets actually fired. I was facing in the direction the Drones appeared from at the time and the first I saw was a Plasma shot heading for me. I got hit, but survived. I don't recall having this in any Vanilla games I've played, at least not recently that I recall. However, this has now happened a number of times. If I'd been very early-game, perhaps I could have missed the Drone approaching - though I was on high alert leaving the crashed ship at the start. When I've major armed assets near me, such as Bases and CV's, Drones should never be able to creep up on me, even with the firing delay that occurs after an extended session. Just wondering if there's something different about the spawning of Drones in PE? Each time this has occurred I've been near a cored enemy POI. As previously mentioned, there was a vanilla bug where Drones (and Troop Transports) would spawn at a Cored POI upon game load, but this one is happening during a session. Scoob.
Thanks for the heads up, we'll have to voyage out to those other solar systems and have a look! So I did see a bunch of your new starter types (dead planets, rogue planets and the like with increasing difficulty) which are intriguing. Very curious though, for the custom planets are these more like... custom templates? (or whatever the word is) which then allow for the actual custom planets to be created randomly? Or alternately, are your custom planets more or less hand created? Or do you have both new templates for random creation -and- new hand created (aka totally unique) planets? Again btw- I deliberately skipped reading the section about planets (inc pics) because I wanted to be surprised. But I’m asking now, because last PE go-around basically we started on vanilla Temperate and made it to one other planet (vanilla Arid if I recall), got powerful too fast and retired, and never saw anything too amazing. In short, this time we’re deliberately launching much earlier (progression wise) and want to make it to your awesome new stuff! Basically I’d like to steer us towards one or two completely custom (hand-crafted?) planets, but again not totally sure which is which. My guess is it will be obvious/fascinating when we arrive.
Nothing to do with the scenario. All I can do is specify how many drones a POI will have and whether it gets reinforcements, can't control how those drones actually spawn.
All planets use random generation, so they are custom planet templates which are then used by the game to randomly generate each individual planet. Some are more randomized than others. If you mean you're looking for fully unique planets, there aren't too many of those at the moment.
Ok, no worries. Perhaps I was just lucky to not have it occur during a Vanilla game, though PE is much more dangerous so I guess it's not surprising I'd notice it more. Scoob.
I dunno...The crystal moons with the Zirax private corporations on it kick my butt all the way to orbit. Also in Project Eden I rarely encounter temperate moons. So the variety presented here makes it a fun adventure to find the "perfect" planet to set up a base in.
