So once you blow up the core, how do you get out of the basement if you: 1. are in heavy armor to deal with the infinite unending forever spawns from invisible spawn plates 2. didn't bring a core because you weren't planning to core it 3. didn't bring explosives because you weren't planning to disassemble it I can't find a way out, and that hole leading into the core level is too deep to jump out. My only solution so far has been to cheat in a core or wait until I starve to death. Related topic: this POI is SO badly designed and broken in so many ways.
Welcome to the forum mate. If you are stuck down at the bottom of a POI and you have destroyed the core then you can use your multitool/survival tool to remove blocks, making a stairway up to the top. You could also dig a tunnel up to the surface with the drill/survival tool.
The following console command will suicide your character instantly. destroyme That command is available in Single-Player and in Multi-Player without admin access, so I do not exactly think of it as a cheat, but rather an expedient method to die when a situation arises in which one would otherwise be left twiddling thumbs waiting to starve to death.
I really enjoyed this POI on my first time through. Except for the very end, not because of the wonderful surprise but because it was on an MP server and some other player (a real fine example of a human being) decided to start looting as I was in the last stages so I was even more confused about what happened when I flipped the switch. I did not understand that I had killed the core until I had redone it without "help". I have done it 5 times now and each time I find new and fun aspects. So long as the original core is gone a survival tool or multitool will let you make stairs to get out. or you can use logistics to f4 menu to a container of you nearby ship to retrieve supplies, although with the shape of this poi that can be a bit tricky to put your ship in the correct place.
As I "own" the Assembly Yard now as my Base I will try to put some pictures together to show you how to get out without using a Drill or Multitool. I had it on my Arid Starter Planet. When I entered it I was level 17. I finished it as level 25...7 -10 deaths later.
View attachment 82146 One way is to head back to the Shaft from which you dropped down to the lowest/Core level. Use a Shotgun or Rifle and shoot through the wall/or multitool it - its only a thin curved wall block. If you have access to your Vessel and able to change to Medium Armour... you would be able to jump up the shaft by pressing W and shift for running and Spacebar. takes a few attempts but its managable from there the way is clear towards the Room with Core Extensions and the Elevator View attachment 82146 You can use the stowed CargoBoxes to jump up to the surface or use the formentioned way via the Elevator shaft from here turn right or left to the covered shafts and multitool your way 1 level up and you are back to the surface
Thanks, y'all. Didn't know I could chop through the walls after the core is popped, and I didn't have anything that could damage the alien blocks before that. I ended up finding a wandering scorpion and feeding him my corpse to get out. The two good things about this POI are the end's signal scripting is cool (though be careful drilling through the walls, you might accidentally get backstage, which ruins the illusion), and the base facilities are way overpowered. Everything a base will EVER need except a teleporter and deconstructor... and even then the vanilla cargo boxes are filled with the ore to get you there. Design-wise, it's just so undisciplined in both directions, it's like a circus planned by a child. 50 lions! 20 clowns firing out of cannons! 7,000 pounds of cotton candy! The good news and bad news for me is three of the four Legacy POI's on my starter are Assembly Yards. Go figure.
Assembly Yard... is.. that the one with the holes in the ground between the buildings? If so, I thought there were way too few enemies here - or I cored the place too easily and missed them. I tend to like POI's for rep-building. Just find a good spot with a view of a spawner, and sit and head-shot your way to Honored.
Was wondering...because from what I gathered, Vermillion designs POIs to basically take you from level 5-25, kill you in new and exciting ways, make you produce a small CVs hold worth of ammo, and throw enough enemies at you to wear out the left mouse button shooting them. Love that man.
I have never done the Assembly POI as of yet. I have not had it on any of the 3 games I've started from A12.
All I can say, to anyone who ventures into the reactor for the first time "Look at the ammo you are carrying. Double it. Then double that. No, that still isn't enough. Keep adding."
I didn't need QUITE that much my first time in the Reactor, but....... I had seen some you-tube videos, so I knew where I was going. Not to mention a stupid bug that had somehow limited spawning in that particular PoI. (And ONLY that one. Nor could I reproduce that one, since a reload had normal creature numbers)
