One thing I can already tell that they have jacked up to ridiculous levels is food consumption: I won't be playing on "Normal" food consumption in RE that is for sure.
I have only 8 grow plots and what I get from POI raids and unless I leave my fighting or space armor on I am not having any problem with food. This is however in HWS RE.
Food consumption is the same as vanilla. 1.44 for light armor, 1.73 for medium armor, 2.5 for heavy armor. Even the boosters that affect hunger both positively and negatively have same food consumption rate.
Interesting. I wonder if the vanilla game changed between 1.5 and 1.6 then? Ningues has always been one of my favorite starts and I could generally manage to handle it with zero deaths, but I've found myself starving to death a couple times, even with Food set to "slow."
I must congratulate you guys for finally having turned some of these starting worlds into serious challenges. I simultaneously curse you of course, cause all my old tricks no longer work. But Ningues in particular is now a VERY dangerous place to begin one's journey in Andromeda Galaxy: freezing cold, not much food, two fiber plants on the whole planet, assassins everywhere, and the best/worst part: drones now actually PATROL! You've got to have eyes in the back of your head. However, there is one "feature" that I'm not really in agreement with: it seems the Planetary Patrol vessels are accoutered with some form of stealth technology. This has been a deal for quite some time now and it is also a deal with some of the in space Zirax craft: you can have clear visual contact with them, and they still do not show up on radar. This to me, is taking the "make it more challenging" too far. There are not too many features like this, but there are some. Maybe they are oversights, maybe they are errors, or maybe Eleon is to blame, but it is annoying nonetheless. At one point and for considerable periods of the games life cycle, Patrol vessels DID show up on radar. They did not necessarily show up as readily as land-based targets, and it might have required getting rather close and scanning a coupletimes, but they DID show up. Moreover, once they were scanned in, one's map provided a constant signal of where that thing was. My hunch is, you guys felt that giving the player a constant moving blip to show the location of the planetary patrol vessel was "too easy" so you changed it and the possibly unintentional result is: the thing doesn't show up at all now. As I've said multiple times in many different forums: you guys have done an AMAZING thing with this mod/scenario. It improves on the game enormously and I couldn't imagine playing it vanilla. But you do take things "too far" from time to time.
Thank you! It seems patrol vessels don't like to show up on the radar. Wasn't anything I set, so probably a bug.
I think they don't show up at all on radar until after you actually discover that faction by visiting one of their POI's, which if true is just ridiculous IMO. At least, in my limited testing that seemed to be the case.
