    Build: 1.11.1 4453 10-00:59
    Mode: Dark Faction scenario

    SERVER NAME: N/A
    SEED-ID: N/A

    If applicable: N/A
    MODIFIED PLAYFIELDS: N/A

    reproducibility: Always
    Severity: Major

    Type: Dark Field Nullifier

Summary: Dark Field Nullifiers don't appear to work

Description: Dark Field Nullifiers don't appear to work. I have one near the middle of each side engine room of the Elysia and one between the two plots in the farm, and the results are very inconsistent. I see constant power spikes, inconsistent ship speed, moderate thruster performance, and all the food in my fridges has rotted.

    Steps to Reproduce:
    1) Install 3 dark field nullifiers in the indicated locations
    2) Go to a planet affected by the dark field
    3) oberserve power usage and device stability over time.

Additionally: It would be nice to have a more comprehensive explanation of how exactly these nullifiers work, and how effective they are. My understanding is that any device within 30m should be immune to the dark field effect, based on the description, but that definitely does not appear to be the case.

Added 3 T2 neutralizers. 1 at the back of the hanger closest to the nose, 1 at the front-most section of each engine room. Not only did this do absolutely nothing to improve the coverage or stability, but it actually increased the intensity of the power spikes to the point that my generators take damage every time it happens, due to how much power they drain.

Does the dark field cause food to spoil? I was trying to understand why food in fridges was rotting. Also does dark field kill crops on grow plots too? I see all your crops have died is this from the dark field itself?

It would be nice to know what is going on with the dark field. And be nice to know what benefits or protection the nullifiers do and its range.

If the dark field rots food in fridge and kills crops while also drains effectiveness on ships systems I believe the PDA in F1 should least tell us this. And putting a nullifier down will protect your ships and bases? Maby a range visual in the "N" button for Nullifier range this would be nice also.

There just isn't enough information. And people are just speculating and guessing. More information needed from the developers side.

It definitely causes food spoilage. I was routinely coming back to my fridge to find yet another stack of something had turned into spoiled food. It got to the point that I had more stacks of spoiled food than usable food before I finally sorted it.

The dead crops are my fault, however. I underestimated just how much power the Elysia was draining with the neutralizers on, even while idle everywhere else, and I ran out of power at some point while I was away. This was after the rotting food, though.

The FAQ mentions that the neutralizers have different strength depending on tier, but the tool tips in the game just say something like "nullifies" implying that it is absolute. I myself got stranded on the Zirax homeworld and tried installing a T1 neutralizer in each engine room thinking the 30m fields would cover all gens and thrusters, but it made zero difference in my lift capability. Installing one additional T3 nullifier did effect everything and let me take off.
