The other day I posted a pic of my Lunchbox II SV after it had been shot up. I made repairs, added some shutter "bar armor" and changed to a non-color scheme. No shutters on the thrusters because that use for them seems likely to go away when the propulsion system is finalized.
A little time here and there on my everlasting ongoing forever project, Biosphere 2. Its a sort of Empyrionistic replica of ....... wait for it...... Biosphere 2. with the limitation the game construction have, and my patience.. A couple of not so revealing pictures.
I tend to dodge left and stay in close when attacking. The right nacelle needs short term beefing up because the Lunchbox II is considerably wider than most of my SV's and my lateral moves aren't yet wide enough to compensate. That should get better with practice - and remembering to dodge right too! The nacelles need work. They're necessarily large because they're self-contained. I think that I can do a better job of laying them out while making them a bit better looking.
Look who came to dinner! There were four drones stacked together pointed at the door and two more on the roof when I returned from looting the drone base. I hadn't marked the survival shelter private so I have no idea why they were there. They could have shredded the place yet there's no damage. I'm going to put them out of their misery when I return to the game. Edit: PART II or This is Different Opened the game to find the Crashed Shuttle's core and some other stuff shot away. A clear case of Revenge of the Drones. All but two of the drones were dead. I had no defenses so they must have shot each other. I put down the remaining pair with a T2 pistol. They looked too lonely.
"No. You'll get tired of it and then I'll be the one feeding it and taking it for walks." Edit: Is this a known phenomenon? I haven't seen anything like it before but it seems more of a humorous incident than a bug.
Needed a little break from building the "Distant Horizon" and so i assembled the whole fleet for a beauty shot.
Hey @Neal (and @all others too), if you need a brake from your usual stuff, what's about a take on my Challenge I would like to see what you can get up with (fancy stuff meets functions!)...
I updated my hover miner. Or rather, made a higher level version of it. POLARIS SPACE INDUSTRIES PHM-5 'RHINO II' >> Steam Workshop I would be interested to know whether this passes @rucky 's high demands for vessel performance? I pretty much know what you want from a SV or CV - but HV stats are bit more difficult to compare. If you test it - let me know how it feels!
I will test! but 14m/s² for a hover craft... is indeed very good acceleration!! (I've never got one decent HV over about 16 more or less and am happy when they have at least 8+ m/s²)!!!
Today in Empyrion I discovered that the tempest has only three stars after 25 ratings? According to steams bizarre ratings system it can hit four stars from all thumbs up, but three means someone gave it a thumbs down? I mean, well fuck, at least let me know what it is that needs addressing? I know I am not quite at Jenniphurrs, Oojis, or McFluffface's(and others Edit: like Rainyday) level yet, but I am getting there! .... Slowly.... Ah well, I will trundle on.
Just click on the stats in the right upper corner, there you will see if and how many downvotes you got.
There are people in this world who downvote things just because they got up on the wrong side of the floor that morning. I don't post BP's because most of my stuff is as functional as a hammer without being nearly as attractive.
Steam's rating system is bizarre. You can have a 'perfect' 100% positive rating, but it'll say ★★★☆☆ at 25, ★★★★☆ until I think 150 ratings, and only past 150 do you get an actual ★★★★★. And that's putting aside the fact that a single downvote can utterly tank your build in the ratings list (something @Jenniphurr and I discussed recently as well). Their entire rating method needs a serious overhaul. Sadly, nothing we can do about this so the best advice I can give is 'don't sweat it,' even though I myself am occasionally guilty of getting fussed over such things.
I am cobbling together an SV and it is not going so well... Was a great idea in my head, but it is not turning out like I want it to..... This is the kind of thing I should put down and then return to at a later date. On to Mining HV.
