I decided to make a warp-capable version of the Drof and will posting it as a separate ship. So, here the thing is, and I think that I am done modifying this series. It has been fun taking the model through it's various incarnations and I appreciate the feedback I received. I hope the community likes these unarmed ships. But I do have take a moment and plug the ship that got me on the "Pickup" building kick (background).
Spent the afternoon replacing a bunch of standard and hardened steel with Xeno-steel on the skin of my survival CV. Still very unsure as to the xeno-steel textures; there looks to be very little choice, and half of them can't be coloured.

I hate to bring this up, but I often see people putting excessive amounts of storage on vessels and bases. Has anyone ever found the need for so many cargo boxes? Pretty much all production material goes into constructors anyway. In my time playing I've rarely needed more than 10 and that's only because I like sorting stuff into categories so I can find them easier later. If I compressed them down I've probably managed to fill 4, and that's including hoarding stuff. And now when you get excess random junk you can make a visit to the traders and rake in the credits!
Mostly for deco. Actual storage? Well, in a DoG playthrough, my youngest and I needed extra crates for all the gold we mined and the coins until we dumped them into the bank. We had upwards of 3.5mm credits each...

I'm surprised ya aren't using Harvest Boxes for that... unless ya meant Hand Drill Mining... then yeah, that's a good time for a good number of Cargo Boxes if ya don't just chuck the Ore into the Mobile Constructor & give it busy work as ya continue Mining*. *Caution: If ya go with this Strategy, careful not to accidentally run out of Power from the extra Power Usage of the Constructor chugging along... especially SV-wise. HVs are awesomely Fuel Efficient & sponge the extra power draw well most times barring if ya have a LOT of stuff on it AND were stingy with the Fuel Tank numbers. This too. Some of us are just plain Packrats. (Me included.) For the Topic: I've gotten a lot of work done on the front of my CV Build & feel like i've made good progress on it... though I still have much Plotting & Scheming to do on some aspects of it i'm still dubious on, & there's some of the Front left to do on getting fully built & done. After this I still have finishing its Midsection left to do... then the rest of its Innards. Speaking of which... i'm noticing that I seem to have Paradigm Shifted* to a new Building Strategy. No more do I see myself doing all the Insides then putting a Shell around it... I think I encountered the problem of the 'Post-Interior Shell Making Strategy' gimping my options for what kinda Shell I COULD put onto it afterwards one time too many... but I still can't just make a Outer Shell first THEN hope my Insides work out... so it's looking like lately my Style has been kinda wandering around like a sniffing hound following a trail & trotting on Instinct & been pathing itself by chance into a sort of hybrid between the other 2 ways... where i'm starting on Core Insides, then making a Body, then working on either Inside or Outside depending on which I need to get done more so I can then see how to build around that after... I wonder if this is gonna actually work? On the one hand it's gotten me this far & been lookin like it serves me well... on the other hand, the aforementioned 'dubious part' of the Front Area mighta kinda happened cause of this Strategy. Still, I see fit to see where this new Hybrid Strategy leads me & if it may work... with tweaks needed. *Final Fantasy 13 Terminology.
It did go into the harvest boxes first. They don't have all that many slots. We wound up with 3 (large) boxes full of gold coin stacks after running 4 adv constructors as mints after the 4 furnaces were done with the ore.. some of the deposits on that planet were good for 20-40k ore
I did not do anything in Empyrion today. However, Everyone should be pleased to know that I now have All the parts to my computer and am proceeding with assembly. As a result I will no longer be stalking posts and pouncing on them within seconds from the kitchen table on my win rt tablet with nothing else to distract me. So I was looking through some of my older workshop subs, and seen the good old' Sharcoon! I love this ship! Was one of my first subscribed ships. So naturally I decided to play around with it, and here is what I have so far... I have tried reaching out to the creator. Only if he allows me to upload it will it. Doesn't matter as this is fun and ill most likely finish it just for myself! Only exterior changes so far no where near completed!
I too hope for Ladders... especially after building my last Hover War Tank build & then realizing how useful Ladders would be for being able to attach to Walling for better access to a Tank's upper area & Cockpit. Earliest known Suggestor of Ladders as a new addition I know of is @Captain Jack II as best as I know... if any Suggested it sooner then him I don't know of it.
