Finally, after a dozen hours I entered the final stage of processing one of the most beautiful spacecraft in the game, Ilmarinen by rainyday. I'm not a builder but something like a tuner. I still have the lights to set up and edit the display and my version is ready. I hope you will like it, rainyday.
*blushes* Thank you - can't wait to see your tuned up version Oh Bin, Im not gonna even ask... I wouldn't know where to even start...
I started work on a LVL 5 utility HV for alpha 8, I'm still not sure about everything, but it's mostly done. I'll probably change the front though.
Ghastly, isn't it? It was a test of exporting a model from Blender to EGS. All of the junk on the hull and the weird colors/textures are the result of testing the symmetry planes. I'm trying to test everything I can think of before I put up the model import walk-through. This run is part of ensuring that imported models behave the same way as those built in-game. Will finish testing today. Hope to post the walkthrough in Building and Blueprints within the next 12 hours. Another test mule. A BA this time. It was 96 blocks in diameter.
There's much to like here. It looks practical and very convincing. The lighting in the top pic is flawless. Props to Eleon for the lighting and to you for capturing it.
As announced, here's the Asteroid Farming CV ERA-C Ollector: And the according Farming HV ERA-H Arvester: Now, the Ollector is small, but it can contain 2 Arvesters!
I was waiting for someone to do this. Nice base! How are things in the clouds!? Did you notice any issues? Did the core place okay, do the guns fire? Granted probably no drones, but just curious. Do you have the BP for that? That is.... interesting... I love your spirit and your thoughtfulness Rainy! Beautiful!
I've finally finished the mobile base style hv I was working on. Meet the Asterius(finally named the bugger as well!) There's more details and pics in the HV thread https://empyriononline.com/threads/hover-vessels.1502/page-23 for anybody interested.
As long as I was playing I redid the model in Blender and then BP'd a 96 block version and a 48 block version. Both are hollowed out to a one block shell. The cockpit and the core can be moved. You can change the cockpit but be sure to maintain the same orientation or you will be sad. These will not go to the workshop. Have Fun!
Sometime ago i mentioned the need for an Dropship. The last few days where productive and i feel now comfortable enough to give away the first screens of it. Its the biggest one i worked on for now and needs more love, meaning blocks To get the dimensions, the toys on ground are the SV Rigger MK2 and the HV Marauder. All in the same corporate colors.
Sorry... those look like gojira broke wind in them while being transported... or designed by the stay-puff marshmallow man... I cannot look at them without giggling.
I am not exactly a fan of people but I understand it is painful thing to learn that there is hate and less than optimal people everywhere these days. With creative designs turned into a popularity contest it is given that there will be ever rising hate flow toward designs that may be seen as competition or what ever since there are insecure identities involved. I think it is best to not be invested enough with your identity to such things as popularity that your creation will get but to concentrate on the quality of the build / your own enjoyment of the design above all else. I got my fair share of hate here as I am sure everyone else these days. It is something that you have get used to especially when working in creative fields. Sometimes all the hate and conflict can be a motivating and inspiring energy too. How you end up feeling about it is actually a personal choice. I hope I am making sense in all that I tried to say here and hope that you find it helpful.
I am quite certain you meant "Material Division"? It is going to turn out to be a cool ship. Kind of reminds me of our Dreschner CV, "Wyvern" (work in progress) from some of the design elements
Thing I really don't understand about the Steam Workshop is how completely useless it is. I've no idea if Eleon has any say so or leverage, but I doubt they do. Not having the simplest filters, well, I suppose they have the absolutely simplest filters, but I'm sure you all know what I mean. To @Sephrajin 's point though, since I expect the vast majority of views come from being on the first page or two it almost seems that Steam is inciting the childish down-voting BS. Sure I've come across what are most likely a newbies misunderstanding of posting to the workshop vs. a simple local BP. But I wouldn't even down vote those. Why the hell would anyone? And it takes a single second to tell if someones made a real try at their ship. If they have and you see something obviously goofed, based on their description, then sure offer a polite suggestion, if they turn out to be an arse, oh well right? Still wouldn't down-vote them/it. Now that I'm thinking on it, these forums only have 'Like' or up-vote, no down-vote. Maybe someone needs to go close the 'Valve' on Steam, hopefully that'd build up enough pressure to pop their head out of their ass. (heh heh making myself laugh here )
