Bethesda's new IP called "Starfield"

Whether it is just a rumor or an actual release, I am interested in seeing this at the next E3. Have ya'll seen or heard about the new Bethesda title in space? Fallout 4/ Skyrim creator is supposed to reveal it at E3 this year and I can't wait to see the trailer! I have been waiting for a good space rpg for a long time since mass effect 3 came out.

Could be interesting, considering how much I enjoyed the Elder Scrolls and Fallout games over the years. Let's just hope there's no corporatist preorder bonus or day one "DLC" scammery to go with it come release, one thing these big AAA devs lack is trustworthy business practice...

 

Beth usually manages to deliver a good game - eventually and with lots of help. Day one DLC is a minor annoyance compared to the asshattery that is in-game purchases.

It was only an announcement, much like Elder scrolls VI but its now confirmed to what was rumoured

 

The game seems to use a "realistic" artstyle in the presented scene.
EG: not overdoing a nebula star-background as many other space games. And its use a realistic approach to structures in space, (non aero-dynamic, not bulky, usign lots of lightweight components such as trusses.

Thats about it I can pull from the presentation.

 

I hope they steer clear of retro-futurism and steam punk, and give this new IP a new perspective on future space travel.

No Destiny, Bioshock, Fallout or any other art style in this one! Let this one become a new standalone game with the calibur of a Halo or Mass Effect, containing a ORIGINAL storyline and test the limits of what a space rpg can achieve.

 

Lets see if the game has a multiplayer core or is pure singleplayer. That will determine a lot how the narrative will play out.
But it will not be a game like Mass Effect. Betheshda has a different style of how to tell a story, one that is keeps the player-character rather generic, to fit any chosen role into.

 

Agree, but with it being there first IP announcement in over 20years their style will definitely be present...but TBH i am looking more forward to fallout 76

 

Lets just hope Bethesda doesn't follow the path of ZeniMax in Elder Scrolls Online, that one's a complete garbage....
