Started working on a new CV, before realizing I was basically making a copy of a CV I saw on here... Back to the drawing board!
Well, yesterday, I created a new save. Dug out a hole for my base to sit in, shot up the firsy drone to show up and got a lot of XP, went for a day trip to discover some nodes to mine, used all my iron ore to make my basic SV for easier getting around, cleared out a size 10 iron node, started working on a size 7 promethium node and when I got back to my base, I had to dig it out. "That's weird" I thought, and went off to finish the node. And when I went back, my base was buried again. Turned the game off. Sulked a bit. I'll probably move up to the surface with all my bases if this keeps happening
I tried to beat one of those green slimy things to death with my ninja jump moves and a drill. Out of ammo sux. We really need melee moves with the character, and a set of stainless steel knives. Its that slice of life were all chasing !
You can do it man, just have to think outside the "box"! Spent nearly a week on mine, 1:1 scale. It was a fun build, love the Rifter! If you would like to download it, you can find it here: Rifter v3
It looks nice, but it's essentially just "spreadsheets in space" combined with lots of fetch/carry/fight NPC missions. It's a much better game if you can get in a good Corp (guild), but applying for the bigger ones is like applying for a job.
I have my new base plan for tonight when I get home - a 150x150x200 block Base with a similar design to the hex stations in Elite. We'll see how far I get before I get bored
Right?! The Rifter was scaled to about the same size as a 747... And that's still small for a combat frigate in Eve... Some of those ships are insanely huge.
Welp, I made a start on it, just about ready to add the outer hull. Some shots next to the basic frame for scale. On approach in my SV Spoiler Me next to the SV (my feet are level with the landing gear) Spoiler The SV in the hanger entrance Spoiler There's another SV parked at the back (I use them for mobile spotlights until I get power on lights on whatever structures I'm working on). That station is just over 400m long
@Baneus You should add some black/yellow building cranes with spotlights for the atmosphere Edit: My todays highlight was trying to close a SV door until I realised it got shot off. Five Minutes later...
That would have been nice, But I spent 4 hours last night putting one third of a hull on it Tonight I'll finish the hull and make a start on the interior. As it is, it takes almost a full minute to fly from one end to the other using the jetpack.
What have I done so far. Well I took a real good look around the forum. Reading old and new bug stories. Many of the old bugs are still here with lots of new ones. Then I went into my game. Started up my SV. OMG it jumped like two ship lengths in the air did a flip landing on its back side up against my base.turned the game off and made a sandwich.
Hmmm, I wonder if this is related to a Directional Thruster bug. Mine doesn't do this and I have no Directionals on it. I used Armored Thrusters instead, because they look the same (you just have to build an extra block into the hull recess) and they make recovering from a tumble super easy (I run into the pole barrier all the time). Plus it flys at almost the same speed in any direction
Grab my SV from http://empyriononline.com/threads/small-vessel.1501/page-9#post-21235 and see if it does the same thing in your game. I've managed to get it to bounce on spawn in creative, but it hasn't flipped or displayed any other odd behaviour while being flown.
Working on another CV. Guns keep blowing themselves up, so I put the new little arrangement up there. Doesn't look the greatest, but it seems to work so far. Couple interior shots in spoiler Spoiler
@Predatar556 Good news, she fits with room to spare. In fact I should be able to fit three on the interior once I get the hull finished Edit: maybe 6, it's hard to tell with the rest of the hull not done and nothing to land on. Working on this scale makes it hard to judge sizes unless something is right on it.
