Started a new survival game today. On the arid planet starter. Gotta say, it's probably easier starting with the arid planet than the default akua starter due to easier resource access. So far no deaths, but the first few hours simply involved me driving around on my motorbike, getting off to cap some desert golems for Exp and raiding whatever wreckage containers I found.
Tried my best to improve on my poor SV design and made a little Bulldog. Maybe if I try to build something easier to get shot down in it would look better, but the want to be able to repair my ship from the inside keeps winning. One day I will be victorious. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1471815224&searchtext=
If it ain't broke why fix it? Cargo boxes full of looted stuff are the best decor anyway. In an earlier version of the game I visited every planet in the system with this ship. I had to repair it numerous times - I never had to respawn it.
Previous post was actualy from the stuff i made last time on the MAUL... Today i figured, that the MAUL requires ~350k o2 for the 'main hangar' alone. 'Just' ~116k o2 for 'everything else'. If all air is lost, the MAUL could refill everything, about 5 times. Obviously, this could only be calculated after the the main hanggar was air tight! So the hull is done (just as the hull, no decor) as well. Spoiler: hull-backside If the Hangar is as hughe as the one of the MAUL, it has to contain at least 4 multi-turrets (standard allowed value). Spoiler: multi-turret Also, i finaly made the pathways from the Floors of the sectors to the Bridge: Spoiler: Bridge TODO Last but not least, the engine room of the backside… So far, i love it Spoiler: engine room TODO And still so much to do!
@Sephrajin The amount of detail is staggering and very well executed. It looks purposeful which adds even more presence.
Do not think you get more compact than that. Every place I look I see huge or fantastic looking CV, this brings my mind back to earth, thanks.
Thanks alot, you're too kind. I could name at least 6 people that would be able to increase the amount of detail 'with ease'. (J,P,S,K,o,H and 'some newer' ones as well) @The Tactician[ Λ ] lol, try my 'cat' (Nomadic Ore Store), my friends only structure to save ores/bars, which is 145. I try to keep it lower than that, as that causes me to get only 3 fps - if i would actualy 'build' it With the MAUL (135 atm) is still have ~43 fps.
It is 'not hard' (just more time consuming) to build hughe and nice looking ships. It is hard to build small, functional/good working and nice looking ships! For the details... you get there with practice and looking at other builds. Keep it up! And build for your own fun!
While bouncing around projects has meant that often there is a drought of things to put on the workshop, however when things do start filtering to the workshop, perhaps they come several at a time. Well, here's another completed project. I have had this unpainted and without textures for months now. Small little thing that would have been so easy to finish. I present the Enforcer, now uploaded to the workshop. Spoiler: Pics Originally the windows and everything was very angular. It didn't look right but I could not figure out how to make things right. I was thinking the final thing would be ugly but functional. Then suddenly it dawned on me to try curves. It may not be the prettiest little thing, but I love it now. Originally it was a minigun turret on top. Then I recalled that I have another tiny HV for going into the halls of a POI that only uses gatling guns. Why not further differentiate them and put something on there that was a bit more, um, advanced? Too bad you don't get anything better than the gatling guns for fixed weapons on a HV.
Hard to forget those trim lines and the look of brutal power, eh? EDIT: Saddest of all, it still outperformed any SV.
A new emergency refuge I was playing with. keep as triggered factory item, spawn on a hostile environment planet if your ship gets shot down. is sealed has ventilator and 30mm cannon and only 1 block of internal space. Is bright orange with orange strip lights so your search party can find you easier.
I started building a zeppelin! 31 blocks long, and 15 tall and wide for the main body, bit more with thrusters. Got an HV bay in there even, gondola, then it's main hanger in the middle (9x5 doors!) and then to fit the rest out however I like. Classic Haast colours, and I think this one is going to be called the Albatross.
The shape is great and the styling elements are set well. Nice work! I think, the colors of the positioning lights are mixed up.
