Yes I do. The whole idea behind it is that you get it at lvl 7 and by upgrading it it'll remain useful until the end game, where you can use it as a mining/light combat/salvage cv.
T, for a starter CV i'd think about a few little issues, if i may.. IMO: It is quite a bit of sathium, neodymium and Cobalt for a starter CV. (ranges 150 to 350) You could reduce those needs by using 2 small ammo boxes, rather than 1 large one. And, just assuming, use a large constructor, rather than an advanced one. Also, i belive the armor locker was using 'quite rare' mats as well. (for Starters) What confuses me the most, is it's higher neodymium requirement compared to it's copper req. Just doing a shot into the blue here - i dont know the item it's mat reqs - maybe use S instead of M thrusters. I understand the probklem that you'll have only 7m/s afterwards, maybe just those on the side? Just saying. On the other hand, i used a lvl 15 cv with like 5k iron and 5k sathium as a 'starter cv' on my MP Play. But thats been a (modified) BP i've not shared, so... -> and will not, because for a starter cv -> it sucks, but is still awesome as a ''quick goto" cv xD It looks great, and how did you do those upwings on the 2nd last screenshot? Was that a cheat? xD (cut rotate paste?) Have a good day!
I didn't really make it with low cost in mind. I agree you can get a better starter cv for lower resource requirements. It was built with one thing in mind: Upgradability. That's why it has those large wings, so you can put a lot of turrets on it, and it's why it has the 6 slots for mounted weapons. The reason I got 12 thrusters on it is because of my design philosophy, I like having equal thrust in each direction so you have balanced handling. It's actually a lvl 7 CV, so there are no advanced constructors or medium thrusters. Those are part of the upgrade path. I already have a wide selection of starter cv's, and with this I wanted to try a different approach. And yes, the wings were rotated with cut/paste. I added in some "hinges" so it looks like it can do that, I might make a version with the wings lifted up you can use as decoration in a spaceport.
No offense taken. People's definition of starter CV varies a lot, some people want a fully featured mobile base for as little cost, others just need something that flies and can warp. That's why I got a wide selection of them, so people can get the kind of starter cv they desire. I'd say using less than 500 of any ingot other than iron is quite cheap for a cv, you can easily get the mats needed by salvaging the titan wreckages. And the reason it uses that much iron is because of the wings, which don't serve a use at lvl 7, but are good for mounting weapons later on.
*giggles* As i just stated in the post above, 'my' (own, unshared) starter CV's have costs of like 4k iron, and even 5k sathium… Spoiler: my private 'starter' cv mats That is the 'starter cv' was using in MP, a tuned down Version of my Corvette, which had lvl 25 req, and with all the previously installed weapons, several K's of ere & zasc.. I dont mind to gather such amounts of mats for a first cv on a very hard planet (no sv jump nearby), but then again, that is me...I know others do mind, thus it remained private This said… I think my MAUL is done, i've completed the 'Bridge sector'! Took my Hunter out long-range for my much needed resources. Stopped on a Lava World, was nice. Jumped to a couple of other worlds before finally setting down on what appears to be Tatooine for the night. It has a lovely planet-sized lava moon and is the only planet i've found with breathable atmosphere.
A long way ahead of me lays a finished Base, but currently I have only the Center piece and for that is still a lot of work to be done. The blue color is only the base color
I was fighting 3 poi's at the same time, they are clustered together and halfway through the fight I ran out of fuel
Thought "screw it" and attacked a patrolling CV with my SV. I won. I Put in my core, fixed it up a bit and turned on the engines having scored myself a fully functioning CV... And I fell through the floor and the ship took off of its retarded own. And here it goes after being re-cored and renamed. Yes, it has forgotten how to fly like an intelligent being. If I slapped new turrets on it, i wonder if it would attack POIs and drones in the area on its own. Some day, i'll come back and shut it down and take it apart.
