I had a simple and evil idea I wanted to try out today. The good news, it works. The bad news, it's an illegal blueprint and I cannot upload it to the workshop. It's a SV, so you can spawn it planetside and in space. So, here is the file. Enjoy, and do not get too close.
Nice work man, especially like the little dinghy too ! Did you have fun building it? I am not exactly a pro on luxury myself, it was easier for me because i technically made boats that already have a real life similar counterpart. Just using wood textures here and there, and positioning random blocks to look like counters or surfaces. The last Days including today I tried around on a Low-Level, easy to build, Base. So far I tried three different Sizes. Numbers standing for Block Squares. IRDS 3.3 IRDS 5.5 IRDS 10.10 And those two keeping the Drones of my back while I am doing handicraft work
Reminds me of a base I started and never finished. Started it in Alpha 6, then at the beginning of Alpha 7 they required you spawn your HV, SV and CV over an appropriate base. If I had finished it, I would have kept it. But it wasn't done and I ended up scrapping it because the base was no longer practical to use. If only I had been patient then it would have been great here in Alpha 8 where that requirement currently isn't the default?
One more base for the faction building, this time a hovering logistic center. The inside will take few more days.
@Ramachandra Your builds are just captivating - shape, size, details - there's just harmony that makes them stunning Great idea on the hovering turrets also. - - - - - - - - I've been POI building too - been working on something much less spectacular and much more grimy & gritty. Want to bring out the not-so-clean & tidy side of Polaris Corporation.
At first glance I thought this was real life, but then I looked closer.. I can't wait to see what it'll become.
Version 2: I re-worked the signal logic and have tested it's lethality, it works quite well. Still an illegal blueprint, but it's too much fun playing around with it. I have died many times testing it.
After several more abandoned attempts at building CVs, I turned to making a base. Sooo much better. Since no one builds for lava planets, I figured i'd do that. In future, I might live on one of these and I have several designs for lava bases. It's not 100% finished yet and hasn't been textured or painted yet. I'll be doing that tomorrow. With that lava glow inside the observation level, it makes me not wanna use lighting. At least nothing big and bright. The Tower (name pending) has a large landing pad (SV or a small CV) inside the roof, 2 small SV pads in the mid-levels and the bottom level is mostly all HV hangar and storage.

Someone should make a thread with pre-configured LCD signs with various layouts and designs that can just be copy-pasted in-game. Elaborate planetary analysis, medical condition stats, weapon loadouts, cargo manifests, fuel tank levels, thruster output values, etc...
YES. If I were a better illustrator I would be doing that very thing at this moment. Sadly, that is not an area I will be very useful for.
