Using the new ability to create randomized scenarios, I created one that is simply a default survival game but with double the number of planets and a couple other enhancements. I've seen a lot of requests from people asking how to increase the number of planets in their games so hopefully someone will find this scenario useful. Expanded Default Survival (double the planets) - Alpha 9 This scenario randomly generates a new survival map on game start with double the planets as normal and adds a few minor enhancements. It does not contain new types of planets, it merely increases the number of default planets that are generated. Good for anyone who wants a randomly generated survival game with more planets without having to edit config files or subscribe to a static scenario. This creates a default Survival game with the following changes: *Doubled min and max counts of non-starter planets, asteroid fields, and trade stations. *Increased max number of moons per planet to 2. *Added a Desert neighbor within 15AU to Arid starter to ensure you always have access to the resources needed to build a CV.
Do these planets come with POIs? As far as I know, a limitation of the current SSG is that you can't use it to place POIs.
This is just a random generator config that uses the default planets so yup, all the standard POIs are there! You can't place or manipulate POI spawns with the SSG, it's merely a visualization tool to show you where they will be placed at the moment but POIs are spawned according to the planet yaml files when using the SSG or the random generator.
Update for Alpha 9.2: - Added TemperateSwamp to the random generator. Temperate and TemperateSwamp are now separate entries. You will always get at least 1 temperate and 1 swamp planet in your solar system.
Update for Alpha 9.4: - Added BarrenMetal to the random generator. You will now always get at least 1 Barren and 1 BarrenMetal planet in your solar system. You'll need to start a new game to get the Alpha 9.4 planet and POI updates.
Update for Alpha 9.5 - Added Ocean planet to the random generator. - Added TemperateStarter2 to the random generator. - Updated playfield level of TemperateSwamp to match the default survival scenario. You will have to start a new game to get the new planet and moon updates in Alpha 9.5.
