    ya to be fare i havent played survival since 8.0 i only like the building apsect atm, but once all the bugs are handdled ill get back into it

    Hey all,

    I'm more than a little frustrated this evening as I'm encountering lots of problems :/

    The most irksome of these are the Invisible and Invulnerable spawners, which I've mentioned before and am aware should be removed from / tweaked in most POI's soon. Anyway, I'm assaulting my second POI - the excellent Abandoned Mine this time - and it's full of these invisible spawners. This, unfortunately, is proving a game-breaker for me as limitless enemies spawning with no counter other than to kill the Core, is about as far from fun as things get. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE a good challenge, but being total unable to secure your progress through a POI like this isn't a challenge, just a frustration.

    I had been hoping to tell a story of a somewhat different approach to tackling this POI this evening. After my initial frontal assault was thwarted - again due to said invisible and invulnerable spawners - I decided to dig down to the basement of this POI, recalling that said basement had holes in the walls, exposing the bedrock there. I achieved this goal and took a small gatling-equipped SV into this lower level and used to take out any hostiles and all visible spawners. Quite a novel approach I thought. I ran into issue here too though sadly, with certain hostiles - the "Nightmare" in particular - able to walk right through my enclosed cockpit (Cockpit 2 FYI) and attack me directly! This got me infected with all sorts of nasty status's. Yikes!

    Anyway, I prevailed clearing this lower level and got back on foot to loot, then continue the hostile clearance on the next floor up....but that's when I encountered more invisible, invulnerable spawners, spewing out seemingly limitless enemies *sigh*

    Are others sharing my frustrations here? Two of my favourite POI's - the Abandoned Factory and Mine - are currently feeling a bit unplayable. As I'm just Single Player currently, I was wondering if there's any console trickery that'd allow me to remove these spawners so I can continue to play?

    It'd be a shame to abandon this game, as I'm finally quite well established, with a warp-capable CV and a light Miner and Scout SV - I was just off to find more of the rarer resource before I really ramp things up. My aim being to bring in a WIP CV I've been working on for about a year now on and off.

    I started this game earlier in 9.x, so not a fresh start. However, I'm aware that an update to certain POI's needs to be applied to "fix" the Invisible and Invulnerable spawners in a few locations. I had debated a fresh start, but that won't help until the issue is sorted... It's late, and I'm a bit pooped, but I think @Fractalite said the changes were done, but yet to be applied, so a future patch should fix this for new games, but not, I suspect, for games in progress.

    I'm not adverse to a fresh start, but I might copy/paste in a few of my assets this time around.

    We have not gotten that far in our restart so I do not know if the fix came through yet either.

    Yeah, damn Scoob. Sorry about the frustrations. :(:oops: I see now why you wanted a private message.

    And yes you are correct, the update(when it comes) would not apply to an existing game.

    Just so you know(and I know we have talked about this before) those class of structures and another type that will be coming that I am not allowed to talk about are supposed to be really, really challenging. So with existing or new models/NPCs?enemies/etc or weapons its only going to get worse. :)

    I also understand the want/need for an emotionally resonant accomplishment and wanting to create a good story/level design wakes me up at night so I will do what I can to get an awesome fun factor in there. I mean, just for a little bit of a tease...

    No idea when they will get into the game, but these are supposed to be for fun, ambiance, and additional... well, I will have to remain mysterious. :D

    Lastly, I realize this is the "What did you do in Empyrion today" thread so we can move it to the PM. Do not want to side track things. :):cool:

    Decided to play around with the NPC spawners last night and had a all out war me vs a lot of NPCs. I spawned in all the Robot NPCs and a Carrier.

    Instead of building down, for some reason I ended up building up. Put down floors, stairs, ramps and walls on the command levels and bridge and ended up basically completing the entire top of the Millenium's interior.
    I'm gonna blame whoever it was that said that crew can now be placed in blueprints without it redding out, costing 1 gold ingot each instead. I think it was you, ravien.

    Here we have command hangar bay. Below the bridge it opens out onto the Millenium's rear top deck and is for keeping shuttles and escape vessels for the bridge crew.

    Here's the main bridge, above the command hangar. There'll be a combat bridge in future, located in the middle of the ship. That one will be heavily armored and contain the ship's core.

    That bridge.... is inspired. I love the "planets" around the sun or multiple suns. I love impressionistic building, that is amazing. Any chance for more pics? Or do you want to wait for the big unveiling? :)

    I built another Sv today...
    It is so nice to be back building SV again !

    Welcome to the Scramble 01 WSV
    My first public sv to incorporate some elements of anti lagshot design. (pictured in workshop)
    And wow hey I even avoided making interior cabin, that's a first for me for a large sv.

    It is designed to do many things and one of those things is to explore pvp areas, but not to fight lol.
    Just to survive and run away intact !
    Hell it might even put up a little fight but it is only class 1 and it was not designed for an all out brawl with other players in full on pvp designs.
    If you run into other pve players in similar size sv though, you might have some advantage.
    Ships with 4 plasma 4 pulse and 3 gatling.

    I like it. But you should consider varying your texture usage so you don't cover a ship one overly detailed texture. The eye is immediately drawn to the pattern (scratched metal edges) on the black parts of hull before the shape of the ship itself.
    Not so for the gray parts because the scatched metal textures don't stand out as much.

    I miss making SVs. I had a great idea for a terrifying concept for SV construction a few weeks ago that I never got to thanks to the Millenium.
    The kind of concept that if used in PvP would make people crap their pants on sight, allow huge cargo capacity, heavy armor and massive weapon loadouts without being large. Of course, it would look awesome too.
    However, it sort of violates all (unwriten) codes of ethics regarding ship construction and would be labeled as unhanded or cheating.
    I'll get to it some day...

    Hmm the intention was to draw the eye to the scratches, gives it a used look and some character, but in fairness I was in 2 minds about that texture altogether and the one next to it in the gun which had no scratches, might look better on just the black surfaces.

    I did paint the black stripes on after though so initially It was not so bad.

    You have got me thinking though, maybe I will change the black areas to a less stood out texture right now because the scratches are too eye catching in the black area as you say.
    Thanks for the advice ;)

    Then I will have to do all new screenshots XD booooo !
