My plan tonight was to work on the Thunder Naiad update, but instead I worked on the Kiwi. I consider the Kiwi my first "production" HV miner. There were a couple prototypes before that but that is all they were. The Kiwi has served me well since Alpha 6. It has gone through a couple optimizations and in alpha 8 there was the need to move the thrusters, generators and fuel tanks away from the central cabin. Now, I have converted much of the hull into a couple containers, one for harvesting and the other as a possible place to stash ingots. 7400 CPU.
Well, worked today on a "home extension" 17 blocks wide, 45 Blocks long, about 8 Blocks high. Some kind of Multi functional Hangar for a SV and Factory. The smaller Building contains now my Living Space and the Garden.
Since i'm slowly dying from the dreaded manflu i have more or less been building a new hover-vessel laying sideways.. Was needing a bigger tank than the Havoc and (more cargospace and umph... a lot more uuuumph). Came out somewhat nice so loaded it up to workshop. The color-scheme/texturing and overall look is as it is due to it being part of my current game where my stuff have that look (yeah.. i make up stories in my head when i play...ssshhh). The NIS Pilgrim workshop-link: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1644519130 Oh.. and extra credit goes to Vermillion from whoom i stole the LCD-codes Managed to keep the costs somewhat down.. its intended for mid-game play so no issue getting the mats for it
More interior today. Didn't do much. A couple of corridors, quarters for the officers and captain, mens and womens bathrooms and another mess hall and kitchen for the officers. Was hoping to do a rec room with a basketball court and other similar stuff today, but didn't get around to it. Also gotta do the armory, firing range and other similar stuff. Though those will have to be on the deck below. This corridors is beneath the bridge. The door ahead goes to an airlock that comes out behind the forward batteries. To the left is the officer's kitchen and mess hall and mens and womens locker and shower rooms. To the right is a unisex toilet and several bedrooms that are more or less similar. Here's the mess hall. It's smaller than the big ones for the rest of the crew on the lower decks. It's also one of the only rooms in the ship with windows. This end of this deck uses white (3 shades) and dark gray (2 shades) coloring as opposed to the white and red seen in the common areas (excluding corridor flooring, which is always patterned medium red, light red, medium red. With trim being either white or heavy 4-plate depending on location and use.) And this is the captain's room. It's slightly larger than the other officers' rooms and has a window (I need to changing the tinting though). The first officer's quarters are on the other side and also have a window. No lights on this end of the deck yet. This should be deck 9. Current class size: 41
After finishing the building process I can now focus on Texturing and placing devices After all the impression of a Temple remains. As intended. Just a Temple moved towards the 31st Century of the Roman Republic S.P.Q.R.
Remade (and made some new, not done yet) some of my previous work to fit in with the DarkStar themed "scenario" i play atm. I want all vehicles to follow a certain theme in my current game, hence the coloring/texturing etc is somewhat similar on the ones i use now. Just finished the NSI Vargur MK-II Workshop-link: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1645286712 Gave it more cargospace (i found i needed a tad more after using it for a few days), set of rocketlaunchers and some more RCS's. Also remade the hull a little and as stated.. gave it a overhauls with color/texture. Now off to continue the work on the CV i had to fully redo to fit the new HV (Pilgrim) i made in it
Thanks. My intention is to combine my favorite Novel with a - never published - MMO as both exist on the assumption that Rome never died. The Novel goes for the 20th Century while the MMO goes for 24th Century(how convenient Novel: Author Kirk Mitchell, Title "Germanicus" Trilogy https://www.fantasticfiction.com/m/kirk-mitchell/procurator.htm MMO: Imperator Online https://massivelyop.com/2015/05/30/the-game-archaeologist-mythics-imperator-online/
@Germanicus looking forward to your progress then. Sounds like a visual interresting setting for the building(s). .... On my side i have for now canceled work on the assault shuttle, mainly because i want to wait for EGS to show a direction about the SV role(s). The larger SV thrusters needed for bigger SV's seem to be to weak to be viable for them. For now the biggest one i use will be the 2x5x2 one's. Also the 1x3x1 thrusters are the sweet spot in relation of thrust/volume. My reasoning here is that the mass of bigger SV's goes almost exponentially upwards as you build bigger and with mass/volume a thing now we need bigger SV's to transport all the loot. So for now we are restricted to HVs and CVs for transportation. A balancing pass (mass/volume/thrust) will be needed therefor, for my understanding... My newest build, a 2 seated fighter, 8 hardpoints is almost finished on the outside, mainly interior has to get texture work: Spoiler: more screens
Finally done with the re-modelling (to fit the pilgrim) of the NSI Starchaser (CV). Also did upload the other vehicles i use with it in my current game (Pilgrim and the Vargur MK-II was already on shop). NSI Starchaser workshop-link: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1645685633 Pilgrim got plenty of space now I was about to load up my surival-game, go to town on the old Starchaser with my multitool to put it back into factory for spawning this new one... but then i thought "Why Ann|e....oh why???". So i will just use the "destroy" command then SBP this one in, throw away a decent amount of resources from my cargo and call it the day This is alpha after all (read: im god damn lazy). The other BP i uploaded was the miner i'm currently using. NSI Miner MK-II: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1645770297 The MK-I is the same only with mechanical drills. This one rests comfortably on the side in Hangar 1 Have a nice day all.. i need to go survive on a new scary planet somewhere in the Andromeda-galaxy ^^
