I finally found some time in my hectic schedule to jump back into the game last night for the first extended play time since the release of 9.0. Damn was I surprised with how much has changed. It took some getting used to, but the logistics system is soooo nice. No running back and forth between your ship and individual containers to unload, and it totally revolutionizes looting and crafting. Then there's the PDA and POI updates. Holy crap, this game is really coming together! There's like a coherent storyline and everything. I managed to finish the solo storyline, finding the mine field (mines?? how?????), looting the ship graveyard, and taking on the ancient mystery in the derelict mining ship. That was FUN! Hats off to whoever made that labyrinth and the whole story arc in general. So good. Also, space POI are awesome, definitely wanna see more of those. Then I got working on the talon missions. Very nice to have meaningful things to do that affect your alignment with different factions, besides just "fight zirax". In short I'm definitely loving all the new updates. Great job Eleon!
Today I spent some time working on the interior of the main building of the Polaris Sanctuary. The main commons area. There will be a quartermaster there who will buy things like fuel packs, O2, water (they'll pay a premium for some water!). On the second level there's a guy at a desk, because of course there needs to be a guy at a desk right? One of the hallways leading to the core room: There's a couple alien containers in the core room but you'll have to blast through a door (and anger Polaris) to get to them.
I've put the Red Millenium on hold for the last few days while I work on a CV POI ship. This ship, is finally finished except the final paintjob and a few texture spots i've probably missed in there. I might make a flyable, survival-buildable variant without all the illegal blocks at a later date.
After adding a Stair to the Front side, I textured all parts of my Base that will stay as they are. North and South Faces will receive additional Constructions like an HV Construction Hangar and quite large Landing Pad on which intend to build my first CV. After...to much dusty Arid... I decided to update my "Mid"-Game Base (BA) Corp-HQ to A9.4. The Base is now a compromise between CC Lovers and Cargo Box Fans. Both are integrated into the Base which keeps Level 10. I could reduce it to Level 7 I believe by changing the Adv. Constructors against Large. But as this Base is meant to serve until "End"-Game... Space is plentiful available for all sorts of extensions, like Furnaces De-Constructor and additional Turrets and CC's. Walls are between 2 and 3 Layers of Concrete so no worry for splash Damage. More work today....one of the main towers is up, landing pad is in. Super structure of the 2nd tower in place. I mined an entire asteroid so I have enough stone dust Approach through the mountains looks good!
Been a little under the weather (or how the phrase goes) last few days.. so just been building some stuff in creative. Are in the middle of a LARGE carrier.. but that is ~effort~ so i switch between builds to keep some focus. Finished a smaller exploration CV just now (that i promptly put out in workshop ofc.. all about dem likes ).
