That window config I had first and than decided I wanted a bit more security. And I liked the sturdy look with hull blocks better. Articulate able blocks would be a dream for me too! There is one block space in front of the seat or does you mean to lengthen the cockpit? As the drills are 3 blocks further there is space enough for your changes. Oh, just discovered that I have no WiFi connection in it... Will get updated
I agree the solid blocks lent a more macho-mech look. Being visually impaired, anything that obstructs my vision annoys me no matter how good it looks. Lengthening the cockpit wouldn't make a difference for me.
Ok, I've been promising them for a bit now, so here's the first of my screenshots: The Starbus Miner CV - a small CV designed to mine asteroids. In relative luxury. Fully warp-capable, and lightly armed, the Starbus Miner features some rather surprising maneuverability and speed. Interestingly enough, the Ammo Controller, Harvest Controller and Container Controller, while functioning perfectly as Controllers, do not show as Cargo or Ammo boxes themselves. Minor. It also makes a great exploratory craft, and the small constructor is perfect for setting up a new base on a new world.
I was going through my old SV and HV builds, replacing the legacy cockpits in preparation for 9.5, when I realized something. I am going to have to remove Legacy Cockpit 7 from my builds. Because of it's unique charismatics I have ships built around it None of the modern cockpits have the same characteristics as Legacy cockpit #7. <snif> Of well, I think I will wait before I replace the cockpits on those, until the last moment when 9.5 goes live.
(SV) ERIDANUS finally checked out. Aside of weird problems with spawning(floating green Box..again) and Sensor Malfunctions, have to re program the stuff... found the limitations of the carrying capabilities of this SV: 2 x 360 To only for transporting on the Planet, not capable to leave Planet...most sad. Alas 720to of stuff or 278 Xeno Steel Blocks and 148 Hardened Steel Blocks + 1 T2 Repair Bay.
I finished replacing the cockpits on all my SV and HV builds, so they all have "modern" cockpits now. I built this one around the legacy cockpit #7, I hope it still looks good with the new cockpit. I had to move the new cockpit forward, and I used the extra space to squeeze in some additional fuel tanks. Old cockpit: New cockpit:
After about 4000 hrs into this game, I've finaly found the ship/design I reallly really like! However, since the CVX Revenant MK II doesnt provide enough AC's for my greedy needs, for the very first time, I started to modify/rebuild an existing ship. Spoiler EDIT PS: A file a had prepared Spoiler: Datasheet Code: (Work)Name: Chimaera (Heavily inspired by Goons' "CVX Revenant MK2") Defintion: Cargo & Production Orientation: PvPvE RP Est. Players: 1-2 Est. Crew: 4-6 Motto: Survive and prosper the luxurious way in survival! Description: This ship is designed for 'low cost' material requirement, so different materials are used for different purposes. Of course some base materials like iron and carbon substrate will be considabrably high in their requirement, but mind of all the protection you get in return! This is achieved by using up to 3 different layers of hull on avarage, where inner 'decoration' is considered 'hull' as well, the outer decoration is not. So at certain areas the 'hull' will be even 4 layers thick, of which 2 are CS. Main focus of the 'usage' for the ship is to survive longer trips to gather resources, while preparing those resources for later usages. And by the definition of cargo, I refer to actual daily use (of my personal play style: 1 AM pre ore, and/but 2 on Iron/Sathium) for the 'furnaces', as well as enough constructors for all (most at least) needs one might come by. And aside of this, enough storage room to... well... store all the stuff... On top of this, all this while looking awesome! :) But if you don't do the repairs, you'll look like $hit. Catch: * You need to repair often, alot of non-imporant nonsense... * Beeing shot (heavily, for a long time) at weapons can cause ammo loss! Promise: * The important things (ex. cargo) are absolute secured though! Layers: 2-3, Outer: CS, 'Main' Inner: Hard, Wall/Pipe: Iron // Outer Decor: Hard/Iron Est. Class: 18 hopefully, 24 afraid Est. Gravity: 3-5g Est. GravGen: 2 Est. Req. XL: 8-10 (bottom) Est. Length: 270-300m 'Furnaces': 8 Est. AC's: 8 (Power, Ammo {CV,SV,Player}, Blocks, Everything, Prefabs 1/2) Storage: 24, 16, 16, 16, 16, 24, 16, 16 (ores/input) 320, 160, 160, 160, 160, 320, 80, 80 Iron, Silicon, Copper, Cobalt, Neodymium, Sathium, Erestrum, Zascosium Stone, Water, Wood, Magnesium, Promethium, Pentaxid, Carbon Substrate, Prefabs Blocks L, Blocks S, Fuel, Warp, o2, Reserves, Medics, Food ... Sorry about that, but you'd be way worst with scorpions crawling down there.... And it actually is not a Talon base, it has no faction and plans are to make it part of one of the Talon missions later on but will remain no faction
Last night was a rather productive night, and I churned out this little beauty: Fairly basic, as hovercraft go, but the Griffin HV-1 is available for download. https://steamcommunity.com/workshop/filedetails/?id=1675225897
Rebuild of the CVX Revenant MK2: 'Furnaces' /Hangar and some maintenance rooms done. Spoiler: Images One of the maintenance Rooms. Bottomside, still lots to do... Looks a bit wide at the moment...
Posted a test scenario that contains a few of my work-in-progress planets: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1676375220
Went after one of the harder Zirax bases in my HV and had to battle a standalone turret and a 2 Zirax patrols and 3 drones . I think I'm need to build a battle ready HV .
That’s a lot of HV. Gonna send myself a reminder to post my Grendel Combat HV. You might just like it. Built a new heavy combat SV last night and used it to completely raze a Zirax Drone Base and Outpost.
I posted some screenshots of this ship ages ago - back then it was really just a prototype that wasn't fully functional. As I've been writing up more elements of an ongoing custom campaign, it was time to fix it up and give it a fresh coat of 9.0x+ paint. The game thinks this is size class 12, which seems kind of arbitrary. Yeah it's a 'big' ship - but I would classify it as a heavy cruiser, really. In the campaign this is actually one of the smaller CVs. Anyway, ship class issues aside, link and some screenshots: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1676978364 Dual bridge (Tactical in the front, Navigation / comm in the back) A note about the design for this back: This is basically a military cruiser, so I wanted what looked like a large imposing mouth (AKA, the word of law). It'll eat things up and process it into proper colonial material [AtmosphereParams] - 'Hot Fuzz' Restock and repair at the Tradewind Hangar Complex Angels on our shoulders Peacekeeping on Kava Prime Already posted some of the internal shots before - I won't spam the thread with them. Edit - fixed typo
This looks like something out of one of katsuhiro otomo movies... Impressive...... Ho by the way, hanger is where you hang your shirts in the wardrobe..... But impressive hangar you have there, it must lag like crazy.....
