In the default configuration, it can lift the equivalent of its dry mass in cargo in 1g. With the extra 4 S thrusters than can be installed in the thruster pods, it'd be able to do that in 2g. Upgrading all 12 downward S thrusters to M thrusters would let it do that in 5g. By filling the cargo bay and all other nooks and crannies with extra cargo extensions, one could squeeze in perhaps 50% more storage volume, too. Actually, it'd probably make a decent cargo hauler if all of the survival bits were stripped out (no farm for instance). Something to look into tonight .
I have not made any landing pad for a while and it was the time to assemble one. I tried to make happy those who want to use it as a base too. Underneath there are few rooms and parking area for two HVs. I tried to make it cheap and durable in the same time, only the base and the top of the gun tower top parts made from stronger concrete. No furniture and core added. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1708143219 View attachment 58234
Finished up the initial version of the RS Talon (auto-miner maintenance vessel) and posted to the workshop. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1702597549
Nothing is wrong with your Roman buildings. I just add lot of useless blocks. This forum can be boring quick if we do the same thing the same way. We do not, so I keep coming back to see what the other builders create.
Result of todays stream (short creative part, mostly gathering mats online): Mostly working on large Details, like continue with the nacelles, adding cooling tanks... ...doing pipes… Also I had started with a space Station today (before the stream), Intention is to have it worthwhile spawned in space or on a planet. Spoiler: im not good at bases This first Picture was an accident as I wanted the 2nd, now I think it's great to have both, as it's easier to get what this pipe at the ceiling should resemble.
Got about half a CV built to escape newbie world on the Official US Server. It’s not pretty, and not loaded with features, but it will get me out of there... if I can scrounge up a few more flux coils....
Roman Settlement is growing...away from the Landing Area. Planing to build/place all my other buildings there as well. Pool is in Place. At the end of it the Monument "Roman Might" will be placed. Than some sort of Forum Romanum...and so on
One photo a thousand words..... My current Linux desktop. Empyrion text by me. Credits for wallpaper Noble Spartan
Scraping my Roman Settlement out of the Desert Sand. Besides of Blueprinted Buildings the Marble Walkway are just blocks attached to one of the Buildings. I very much like how Half and Full Blocks are having the same height on the floor. 3 Rows of full Blocks from the Monument touching the oncoming half Blocks from one of the Storage's - to which all other Stuff is attached. Including the small "O2" Temple. The "O2"-Temple - The Station is up side down beneath the Plant Light effects Distant View as if approaching the "Town"
Here's the data from the HV testing. I cleaned it up. Mostly a matter of presentation. I didn't alter any numbers, just rearranged the tables and sorted the rows so the patterns are easier to see. The following all used 1 Core, 1 Cockpit, 1 Generator, 1 Fuel Tank, 1 RCS and 4 small hover engines. To see if gravity was a factor, I started with a 3 g difference. When a big jump from 2.0 g to 5.0 g produced the same power readings, well, I saw no reason to further test gravity. Then there was the matter of the 17 PU. It didn't seem to add up. I expected the constant PU from other devices to be a bit different. So, I did some stationary power tests with all devices turned on. Then I varied which devices and how many to figure out the 17 PU. And, yes, when the hover engines were a part of the test rig, they were turned. Apparently 20 hover engines were too many for that light weight rig so it was bouncing all over the place until it flipped onto its side. 17 PU = 10 PU cockpit + 5 PU Core + 1 PU RCS + 1 PU Fuel Tank
Finished building a CV to escape newbie planet on the public server as set off to find somewhere to call home. I think I’ve found it.
