If your "Nomad-Life" does include killing Golems you will have a good chance to get plenty of mats for Building
Hmm, forgot about them. I think if I run across any in my travels they will be fair game. But sitting around at night hunting them down for mats seems like it would go against the spirit of this playthough.
Just pretend your going night time cat fishing for tomorrow's meal. that would fit into your nomad lifestyle
It's been ages since i've Survival Played, but as of last I remember, they didn't tend to show up all that often. I think hunting them for stuff could be fair game if ya made them a really rare Spawn.
I have to say that i love your style. Great work! -------------------- Edit: a few nighttime shots, so give your eyes a moment to adjust. HV entry with upwards ramp inship Engine control room and machine rome CIC, Comunications, Meeting and Captains rooms
Built an orbital farm POI for my scenario. They'll buy things like fertilizer, nutrient solution, etc, and sell lots of plant products. It's meant as either part of a trade route (buy fertilizer somewhere else and sell it here for a profit), or you can buy plant products from this farm as a possible alternative to farming your own plants.
The Golem spawn just after night falls. If you are in about a certain distance to them, 200 or so meters, outside render distance, they "wait" for you even in bright daylight. Also they are to be found close to radiated Zones at day or night - they are there. Like Spiders and Alien Spit Bugs
Inspired by the current "Container-Discussion" I experimented on Creative with V/W System to get somewhere... Placed 1 16k BA/CV Container on the Floor and 1 SV Starterblock - reduced to the Core - surrounded it with 1 CC and several CE to get the same dimension as the 16k Container. opened logistic and placed stacks of Promethium inside until max Volume was reached than I used the resulting Weight - 160to - to figure what size the CC/CE must be to carry only the weight equivalent Now I am sure that future builds will take the learned detail into account You can't have the same VOLUME in a SV/HV as in a CV but you can have WEIGHT as a Goal. To get the same V for a SV/HV Build as ONE 16k Container you spend 6400 CPU - 127 CE+1 CC against to get the same W for SV/HV Build - 160 to - you spend only 1000 CPU - 19 CE + 1 CC
Went around my scenario to do some testing and make sure everything is still working right. Space might actually have too much density of stuff in it right now, but that's easy enough to adjust. Just as an example, there's a lot of things in this screenshot: This is an "unknown signal" hacking site, with several hacking POIs and the unknown signal antenna. There's an asteroid field with some resource asteroids and a moon. There's some wrecks near the asteroid field. And the planet in the background. All in one screenshot. Got an epic view on an ice moon: And I updated one of my alpha 8 moons:
Very nice! I must confess I would hate to live on the Alien-Type Planet. The gravitational Pull on that World, so close to a Gas-Giant, must be horrible. No wonder our Aliens in EGS are 8ft tall!
Yes, that would be great so later on a "Interdictor" can be invented to pull you out of your hyperspace Jump
Been filling rooms on the Millenium for the last week so there's nothing particularly interesting to show off and the things that are interesting are classified military secrets. This is one of the Radiation shelters on the ship. There's usually one on every deck/second deck. It's just one of over 200 rooms on the ship so it's boring. This is basically a lecture hall because I ran out of ideas on what should go in here. There are training rooms and such but they're boring and not worth showing. A pool in a battleship. Because why not? It has a large changing room with showers, lockers, etc, through the door behind me. I swear the quality of each room is going downhill as my enthusiasm wanes. Fortunately, i'm on the last of the crew living decks and the rest will be industrial stuff. Long industrial corridors, pipes, cables, cargo bays, HV hangars, trams, etc... I hate doing large projects like this because halfway through I just want it done so I can do something else. If I stop halfway and do something else, I end up never coming back to finish it (e.g. The Bastion).
Did a bit of work to the upper antennas to Helios tonight. Not 100% on them but they are closer to what I am looking for. Knowing how I build, there will be many more changes. Anyways SCREENIE SHARE TIME! And a shot of the underside for good measure~
I really like those antennas! So good! I'm going to have to sit down and figure out how they're put together. Their construction is very intriguing. The underside of the station is nice too.
Which is a good lesson for the Novice Builders out there... Never be afraid to Retcon a big chunk of a Build if it's just not working out & can't be made to work out.
Say you have an empty creative game, but your base is there and now you place a CV starter block. 1) Leave the playfield 2) Goto <EGS Install Dir/Saves/Games/<Savegame Name>/Shared/ 3) Copy the 0.area file of BA_<ID> into CV_<ID> 4) Enter playfield 5) Enjoy the CV 'created' out of a BA This is also how one adds a furnace or ATM to one's CV (just turn it back after the changes, obviously - If you dont mind a "Red Edition" -> only playable by Admins and local/single players)
Pretty slow night for me - mined asteroids. Loaded up on resources and crushed rock, which I converted into more resources. I did get to take a nice 5.4 mile space walk when my mining CV ran out of fuel and I discovered my reserve box of fuel was empty too. Oops! And I cleaned out a bunch of fridge fur balls again. All in all, a slow and quiet night. Found out the update broke my own server as well, but at this point I’ve lost interest in trying to fix it. With the current tease that A10 may be headed to the experimental branch soon, trying to keep up with fixing these things seems close to pointless at this time, and with me wanting to make a from-the-ground-up new scenario anyways, lightening up the load isn’t a bad thing.
