I spent yesterday trying to figure out how to update my server and get my hosting company lined up as they haven't got EAH working yet so they will need to do the wipe for me. Also today is a "Bank"or "Public" holiday so no work today.
Messing around today exploring all the new stuff added for Alpha 10 and working on Nexus Station(which now has a shield generator). First thing I noticed was the performance improvement. Nexus station takes a lot less time to spawn in and it's not as laggy. I definitely like all the new antenna deco, the new heavy doors, and the new heavy window pieces! I like that they added the new general devices deco group to bases. The new blocks are rad although I'm not sure how to take advantage of them all yet. I've run into one bug so far but nothing serious. Overall this update gets a thumbs up from me.
Having played Project Eden for only a day I can already see what a huge development it is. And so well done. An incredible effort.

Thank you so much for the kind words! It's definitely a big undertaking. I've played around with map editors in games since I was a kid going all the way back to the doom and warcraft 2 games. This is the first time I've sat down to create an actual mod project so it's definitely been a fun challenge. Still so much more to add.

Taking a break from the FAFM-000 Anvil for the time being. I've been doing a new run in survival on hardest settings. Always pays to do a fresh playthrough for each version otherwise you start getting stuff wrong. To do otherwise would make a disingenuous tester (like so many on here who complain about M/V or tools without ever using them). What I did today was spawn (properly) in my FA-020 Bulldog (mining HV) to do some mining. Discovered several issues: It has poor mass balancing, a fair amount of empty space and redundant/unnecessary systems that put the unlock level higher than it needs to be. It will need to be redesigned in future. I went to go mine some promethium some distance from my base with it and ran out of fuel halfway through and had no backup supply for it to turn the ore into power cells and no portable constructor on me (a complete failure if ever there was one). Motorbiked around for surface rocks, (while running from overly persistent raptors) to make a new constructor and some biofuel to get that little bit of power for the Bulldog to make promethium cells on its own. Yeah... that was fun. My level 1 scout HV (FA-S02 Zeus) also turned out to be useless with M/V enabled. So that'll need a redesign too. Got my first base attack in normal survival (not testing conditions) that consisted of a single dropship dumping 3 zirax outside my door. My turret was too preoccupied with wasting ammo on a seemingly indestructible troop transport, that it let the troops walk right up to my door. I took them out with my Zeus, doing more damage than the troops did in the process. Currently level 14 with zero deaths.
Well the restart was interesting to say the least. After lots of backwards and forwards I got the server updated and wiped. Fresh start across the board. So I spawn in and there are no POI close to me. I start the trek to find a place to build up and settle. Collect enough resources to build a bike and set off across the grasslands....straight into a radiation zone.....oops. So we off again around the zone and loving the air on my face in the lovely sunshine. Entering Zirax territory......no bother its just the very border. Pottering along at speed and suddenly there are explosions all around me. Wth!!!??! My beautiful bike explodes and I am flying through the air like a penguin shot out of a cannon. Once I bounce off the ground I am up and running. Escape with 12 health left and no bike. Mmmmmm. Keep walking until I find a crashed ship. Yay, saftey. Make a few solar panels and clean up a bit.....forgot I cannot add to POI's on the server. I now have a hole in my semi house. That night Raptors get in and I am in a fight for my life. Back down to the 10's in health but I survive. Break down the poi and keep heading out of "red" territory. Finally hit the ocean and am now stuck. Red all around and ocean in front. Scavange for enough items to make a very very basic HV to get over the ocean.....literally was a cockpit, 4 hover engines, rcs, fuel tank, 4 thrusters. Finally escaped the grasp of the red hand. Found another poi and have started on my home away from home hv. I think it might be a little large but still......Days 1 done
So I finally got the basics of the home away from home completed. It is very basic and one of my largest builds to date. But as a hover home is ok to start.....especially since I am lvl 8. We have Guns, Fridges, Harvesters, Armor bay and of course a massive storage bay. Once I can get a base we will have turrets.
Updated my Cassowary HV on the workshop. I guess the game engine is okay with png files, but I had to convert my trial run at a new format for the primary pic to jpg before the image would show up on the workshop. So in the middle of all my old submissions, now there is this. In addition to returning the original blue and black color scheme to the BP, the most recent change is to open up some space for a shield generator add-on. Shield generator not included though because I want to have at least one of my HV tanks that doesn't need erestrum or zascosium to spawn in the game.
Changed the outside of the MH-ComCenter from a Bureaucracy Look more towards a Military Look. Also changed the "Outer Hull", those decorative Wall Blocks from CarbSub to ArmConc with a slight change of design. Wonder what shadow THAT might be
Well I was working on my hover craft. Ok it's a real make shift job. But hey it works! Now I built every object in that HV.I know for a fact I had no Sathium or Cobalt. Nor did anything I make for it call for those ore's. Yet after I saved this HV as a blueprint. When I open f2 and click on the hv in question it says I need 6 ingots of Cobalt and 5 ingots of Sathium. Boggles the mind
