Nutshell, experiment failed. I managed to mount the second cockpit in the direction I wanted, but the game did not register it's orientation and I was not able to select/use the mining lasers. ... there went that idea.
Ha, nice! That comes in handy Drive down the road and dump it in one of the furnaces under the end of the arms. Damn!
Because of Ceiling reconstruction I had to move the Furnaces more towards a central position Ore Dump and conveyor...

I learned from texastornado that if you right click on the build in the F2 menu, you get three more options, top is the GroupName, but the bottom is something like "Level the ground when placed." If you tick that box, it will auto level the ground, and you won't have to dig out any sides buried because of the ground placement. If you didn't know...it was cool, when I found out. Your stuff is great.
Yes, I was aware of this function. For larger Base Buildings I build Flat Foundations of 2 or 3 layers of blocks to provide a firm contact with the ground. The chance to find a flat enough surface to place such massive builds without SI problems are rather slim.
The maximum extend of the Base is done. Details, Devices and Texturing is yet to follow. The Directorate has of course its personal Landing Pad. The lower Pad is for incoming Personal and Cargo Shuttles
Hmmmm, I used the flatten ground with my own player created BA, when replacing the default base attack scenario base, with one of my choosing. Did, when I made my base able to insert into the scenario, a POI? (It was my first time I made a scenario.) I use the vanilla base attack scenario to stress test my own bases, or that of others I'm considering using.
