Good heavens.... I bet that is a lava planet with super high gravity and I am going to die. Better go find out!
You would think so, but I ran in to some intrepid solar farmers: Turns out it was not lava but something called, "Rock Desert." Was a great experience; we have some neat artists that contribute to this game.
Personally i use xnview to convert a screenie to .jpg and change the size to 800x500. Then i c/p it in the BP directory and name it exactly as the BP .epb (and don't forget it's case sensitive) That works every time
Ok, started a new game, this time on Public, Project Eden again of course, Dead Planet (where else?). Built another HV, unarmed and un-shielded.
I love that feeling of when you finally get to build an HV(elaborate or simple) on the dead planet. There is such a palpable feeling of *WHEW*!!!
Honestly I never expected this to be such a popular starting planet but I'm glad it is! And I hope it shows the developers that players do want some harder optional content too.
I've been itching to try starting on the Dead World ever since I saw Germanicus' pics, maybe later tonight! ? - is there a "weather clear" type cmd for a SPS world? I wound up waiting multiple in-game days for the weather to clear so I could ss these. This Castle Base build was tough to get going on. Had to really go out of my comfort zone and to force that I started by choosing a build site I'd never consider. From there sleep deprivation and godmode (to carry a couple thousand concrete blocks and so pragmatism wouldn't win) led to this. Quite 'organic' for me, heck I was able to 'see' and incorporate the terrain into the build. The first pic shows the HV entrance gate (far side is almost a cliff, so a fun woohoo! exit) and I didn't pave the whole thing, yay. In mid upper right theres also a patch of terrain I plan on keeping for an inner courtyard. Now I'll be the first to admit I went a bit nuts on turrets, though they do make for a pretty show on Attack nights. Ha! Welcome Friends! Have a cervasa... oh? you can't stay? Good news was all that waiting led me to build this new HV. It's purpose built as a Short-range Light Ground Assault Vehicle. While it has a Shield it doesn't have much else. No MedBay/Cons/Frig/O2/Storage, other than an Ammo controller w 375SU. It's intended use is as the Second stage of a CV mothership POI Attack. Initial would be bringing in the CV say ~a kilometer out. (with stims a doable run back if your ship is shot out from under you) First Attack stage would be an SV run to clear either a corridor or possibly all the large defensive turrets. Second stage is this HV to clear all the enemys outside squads, and do a close recon; taking out external anti-personel sentries. <yadda yadda boo I'm actually showing it off cause I really like the front profile! That 'bowtie' look is new for me and a step up > so, again, 'other than annoying Hummel...' (i really need to stop doing that!), this is what I've been up to!
dang... sooo close! <lol> I'd actually tried both 'weather help' then 'weather clear' but since there's no 'help'... (grumble grumble) Thanks Rav, appreciate the info
Raven could you explain to me how to get on your senario and is it okay for coop for 2 people. Does it also have difficulty settings you can use like normal game.
Workshop link is in my signature to subscribe to it. Coop mode might be broken due to a game bug, so you might have to run a dedicated server instead to play with a friend. Otherwise you set up the difficulty settings just like any other game.
wow. dead planet. holy... wow. -- I definately recommend it! Just spent the last ~4 hrs in a SP world, just frickin awesome -- -- -- @ravien_ff , just "thanks...?" too wiped to be exuberent(?or spell chk) need water... need kittens... need fooood!! <<>> -- @Germanicus , this is your fault mate. damn you. <>
Not much playtime today. But I did finish most of the exterior on the new FA-040 Brawler (name subject to change), still needs some fine tuning with the textures since right now it's mostly just color. It's another relation to the FA-005 and 008 "space helicopter" types, but using Instigator coloration rather than the usual red. The interior is still untextured and uncolored though. That'll be tomorrow's job after I finish the exterior.
