Besides of mining all Asteroids for much needed Resources I did only a crisscrossing of my System taking looks on strange Worlds and their environment... If it wasn't the Trade Station someone could say a perfect parking procedure Found finally a Place to settle down... another Dead Planet..feels like home
Worked a few Hours on my Base of Operations on my new Home Planet and almost finished the necessary repairs so I can breath again: Using a "borrowed" Mech for Exploring the surrounding landscape and finding stupid things like this Exploration shuttle that gave me the feeling of being a Giant under Dwarfs...found tiny little Grow Plots and a Food Processor in Knee height.
This is what i've done today: While testing out my new HV I discovered a bug that corrupted my savegame that turns the game into a kaleidoscope of craziness while throwing me faster than lightspeed 18000 AU in a few seconds. Started and almost finished a new Prefab for creative mode games. The intended goal is to replace the current starter spacestation we have now with this one (when it's finished) for players in creative mode that will contain projectors and examples to show how to do stuff in creative: From info on godmode, creative item menu, commands, orienting blocks, copy+paste, color tool, etc... to copyible Spheres and POI spawn rules. It's not the prettiest, and the landing pad will probably need to be retextured/colored. At least with this version the gravity covers the entire station and doesn't cut off half-way across the platform. The platform's bigger too. Interior: Upper level. Main Info Room 01. There are slots under the floor for projectors. I think i'll call it "The Creative Library" or perhaps "The Hall of Creation".
@Germanicus , that looks like an awesome planet! What's it type/called? Really neat Mech there! --- Leveraging the LCDs to add a bunch of useful info is a heck of an idea @Vermillion , & that's a great looking station too! --- Started another game in Eden, the Snow Dwarf. brrrr! Starved to death -3- times, already! Plus messed up my tech tree point allocation so was sitting there with a Small Constructor but no Cargo Container.... <but I figured out a sneaky workaround, yay me > This was after going to the south pole (from the north) to gather ores in the HV w only starter combo engines. Got a hundred+ of each, so waaay heavy, but makin it back through the mountains. Using 'passes' since the HV couldn't climb hills anymore. Everything going ok then.. boop. right down into a glacier melt hole that was almost sheer walled . So I get crafty. Build a couple Survival Constructors, dig out a shelf to place them on and start refining the ores down. Unlock regular HV engines & thrusters so I can get the HV out. Forgot this would require Wood. In the dead of night try to scale the walls, 3 steps forward 2 steps back.. but make it, and thankfully there are a couple trees nearby. Cut em down and head back. Slip on the descent, break a leg. No bandages left. Ok.. Get the new bits on the HV, get out of the sinkhole and head for some trees, desperately hoping to find some food. Make it there, hop out just as the pyschedelics start, see a corndog just ahead, arrrrgh. dead. Made it back, finished a basic concrete cube for a base, realized I had no cargo containers, then looked at the Stats and see that an attack is due in less than a day, and I've only just dinged lvl 5, and already spent the points, but not on either a BA or HV Turret or Ammo box. But I's gots me shotgun so I say 'Bring It ya no good Zirax!' <yeah.. we all know how that's gonna go!>
Ha! I was thinking of doing something similar a few weeks back: I was going to call it the "Pillar of Creation." Attached would be some Parthenon like buildings that would have Projectors of info on how to build and such. It would also have an attached building pad/area so that players would not need to spawn their own. I ultimately gave up on the project because I did not want to make the projections. Maybe I should give this to the builders league, see if anyone wants to finish it....
@Vermillion : nice thought for new players. The new building tools could use better instructions, particularly small details like attaching blocks / pasting 2 times so selection turns "green", clicking in the middle of the widget instead of the menu (move, rotate, scale), how to get rid of a selection, how to save them, etc. And by the way, do you know the method to align structures relative to each other when spawning BPs in space ?
Going for a new Eden start with a much more sensible difficulty: I found a wonderful plateau: Very flat Think I am going to build a watch tower and have it overlooking the valley: Oop! and I here footsteps in the background. Time for lunch!
Starting building a new multi-purpose ship design today. Keeping this one on the smaller side. (for size reference, the cargo doors are 3x6.) Far from complete, she still needs work on the tail section, interior, texturing, and painting. Almost a complete shell at this point though, and some interior is in place. Basic features are: - Pass-through docking bay with lever-switch-controlled doors, ramps, and spots - Forward-facing spot light - Two retractable cannon turrets - Four retractable anti-personnel turrets (by cargo bay doors) - One mounting position for a fixed weapon (rocket launcher will be removed from blueprint to keep level at 10) - Warp capable design - Basic survival necessities - Retractable landing gear with landing lights
Nope. I don't even know if there is one. I would just align myself with O. I need to look stuff up myself. I don't even know what "connect to base" is for since i've never needed to use it. Everyone seems to use it, but it's never done anything for me. Which is why the creative library is needed. EDIT: I looked it up.
I don't want to "hook" anything together, I just want to align stuff. I tried many commands but the game just ignored them, until it decided to place my structure at 0,0,0. Since it was in orbit, it declared the structure "out of playfield" and removed it...
Godmode aligns the player with the playfield's x-axis, so you should be able to place structures aligned to each other manually like that. Otherwise, I got nothing.
I do use godmode even in creative, just for that reason. I can't stand constantly flipping sideways with the jetpack. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Just finished renaming 1242 screen captures to show tooltips for all items. I skipped the main blocks groups. Now to edit thumbnails...
Why would you use the Jet Pack while in god mode? You don't need it. You have complete control in all three directions.
I never wrote that I used the jetpack while in godmode : I don't use the jetpack, even in survival. When working in creative, many players might not think of using godmode and will struggle with the jetpack. That's just another thing that could be mentioned to beginners in game info/ tips. I used the jetpack when I first started playing but for creative mode it's just nonsense and waste of time.
