Thanks! I thought it would be interesting for people to see the changes between then and now side by side like that. I'm probably going to do a bunch more pics like that just to showcase all the changes to the station. I like to think I've gotten better at this and I think people are going to like this latest update. The size class hasn't grown too terribly much but there's more to get lost in now.
In the new update CV to CV docking will be a thing.. So if you have a damaged CV that you need to towel to the nearest Star base and you have some spare parts to get your damage CV the ability to move so it can dock then you can do this. I had W/V turned on so this thing slowed me down to 5 to 10 with large thrusters. haha
Been updating some of my old ships and HVs for CPU mostly. Tore apart the FA-022A Manticore and turned it into a modular cargo ship with interchangeable cargo containers. Each with a different variant, so there's agricultural module, mining, salvage, manufacturing, cargo, etc... And I made a new starter SV. A standard multi-role fighter. It's not quite finished, but it works decently. FA-053A Maverick
my dream finally came true, i can now build land carriers for desert and flat planets! Im having so much fun on this!
I've only made the little ones so far, Harvesters and Scouts. Here they are in orbit around the Midnight class planet, shrouded in a dust cloud that blocks out most sunlight.
Tonight (this morning?) I worked on getting my scenario ready for Alpha 11. I added the noshieldrecharge to most planets, fixed up my PDA and added another mission, and worked on the Dronespace orbit around the Midnight planet. Here is a 30 second teaser video of the new Drone orbit: There's still a lot of POIs and ships I need to make for the Drone faction, but this is just a start. I love the new ability to color space playfields and I look forward to more tools to affect how space looks.
Went for a spin in my favourite roadster, came sailing down off a mountainside and landed on the only indestructo-twig for miles!
I had no tools either, so I had to make a survival tool just to cut the stupid thing down... . I'm glad there were no enemy POIs about!
No POI would have gotten a shot off, because the gunners would have rolled on the floor and laughing their asses off
A Drone Controller slowly patrols the sector, directing the actions of nearby drones and relaying messages to other controllers. While drone controllers themselves are typically unarmed, they usually have a heavy escort and have the capability to launch a considerable number of laser drones when threatened. Unlike most other drone types, controllers have little in the way of physical protection, relying instead on shields as defense. The large amounts of CPU needed by drone controllers makes them a good source of large optronics bridges, for those daring (or foolish) enough to try to take one down. The quantum communications network utilized by drones allows them to share CPU, power, and thrust when traveling in a swarm. Thus, in order to disable the swarm, you must destroy the thrusters of all members of the swarm, or find and destroy the swarm core. Drone Controller is a modified blueprint made by @Kaeser. He made an awesome design! I made a few modifications to match the drone faction. Should probably stop these drones from getting all that promethium!
