Been busy, busy, busy, testing, testing, testing. I've only been to the near-by moon so far. CS is still a work-in-progress. Came up with a great little HV workhorse, and a handy little SV for running off pesky base-invaders. Really impressed overall so far. As things progress, I'll be sure to drop a wide-area shot of the entire fort. It's a little messy right now with the CS being built. But Volume/Mass on, CPU on, and no complaints. Well, ok, one, and it's minor... repair bay 2's are flipping massive for their size. Ran across a nice little cache of them, could only move 1 at a time. First world problems, I know....
HA! I love it! I did a similar one, only using rounded corners. It was an "escape pod" for my orbital base/drop pod to gather materials. Landing gear on top, hung from the ceiling in the hanger. Actually worked perfectly. No weapons though, just a seat and a view.
My binge modifying is done, until the devs decide to make a large change to the game again. Everything I have in the workshop has been made CPU compliant and reloaded.
Today i had the Zirax rocket drones visit my base. They didnt stay for cookies... But they ghost-shot right through my concrete walls, destroyed my fuel tank and my fridge ... So im gonna have to ask all the experts: It´s a bug, right? Please dont tell me its supposed to be like this!
Yup, smells like a bug. There was a similar one with plasma cannons that was just fixed iirc, where plasma rounds would ghost through walls. _________________________________________________________________ Today, I got the old FA-008D Seer CPU-compliant and into Tier 3 and took it for a spin around the desert planet. Spent about 30 minutes just flying through desert canyons, scraping the walls and blowing up big rocks. This is an old creative game, like really old. Back when we got the full solar system for creative, with all the planets. Ideal for building for a specific environment so I always keep backups of this game. It's got ships from A8 and earlier lying around it and that's where my test flight ended. An old hangar starter base I designed and never used, full of old ships. I saw something there I thought i'd never see again: The FA-001A Intimidator. The first ship I ever built. I landed my Seer next to another older Seer; The original FA-008A Seer. So i'm landing the 4th generation Seer next to the 1st and it's... it's a sight. Version D on the left, Version A in the middle. FA-010 Horizon on the right. I redesigned the Horizon not long ago as the FA-038 Gladius; with a blue UCH variant that got turned into the new T3 prefab Heavy Fighter. There it is... The FA-001. The first ship I ever made in Empyrion. What a PoS. I also finished an HV today. A more usable version of the Raider Technical, since the old Raider Technical was basically the old regular Raider with a turret stuck on a rack on the roof. This one's more or less a T1 mobile base for earlygame. Comfy and fast for those wanting the nomadic lifestyle.
was on project eden today, found a ice planet with HUGE buried alien ships!, tho the planet is crazy hostile with its weather, its perfict for my land carrier! @ravien_ff you are a planet making god lol
my first release of a POI feedback welcomed please https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1920925289 even comes with its own video
Finished my first CV on the Project Eden server. Parking my scout SV on it turned into an sighseeing tour. My last flight on my starter planet. And my first on the new one - tropical planet with a ton of Polaris leisure establishements.
I sat in a steampunk Camper all day just to keep warm, outback this Gas & Gulp Diner/Gas Station thats just floating in space between two planets..... Aneeba and Orkaz, on the STARSPASSED server. Swing on by. The diner is open 24/7
Today I.... learned the lawnmower HV attachment can grind up creatures. Mauled a tellurapod to death on my way back in from a dead-tree harvest. Oh, and I painted my HV I call Mule. It's a handy little workhorse, with a Tool Turret for all your repair and POI dismantling needs, a pair of drills (are they currently bugged? They don't collect materials, just make piles), a lawnmower, a mobile medical unit and a mobile constructor, perfect for making your own bio-diesel in the field! With a capacity of 699 units of harvested materials, 375 units of output storage, and 199 units of spare part space, you can keep the 1200 fuel-unit dual-tanks filled and still have plenty to bring home. Here, my Striga-SV Mk.3 sits staring down its latest mark - an uninvited Zirax dropship. Light, nimble, and armed with a rail gun and pair of rocket launchers, this light scout ship is more than a match for drones and drop ships. In the hands of a skilled and careful pilot it can pick apart light defenses as well, and it just looks sleek. Ok, more testing of things. Still have a CV to finish too!
I've been working on my Eagle Transporter trying to enhance it's utility. I've stretched it to accommodate up vto 8 Cargo Mules. I am also developing the Eagle Transport Module (ETM). My first effort is still a w.i.p. as I ran into a lot of snags: 1. The carrier ship cannot dock when other vessels are docked to it. (I gather everybody else knew that already) 2. I made my ETM a HV. Tto simplify equipment, I used Ground Repulsers. Unfortunately, they hadn't enough lift to reach the docking frasme, so I added Hover Boosters. Unfortunately, they lifted the ETM up to the frame, but wouldn't let it down. It seems the booster will stay "on" until it reaches max. altitude. Since the frame prevented this, it just kept pushing up and causing errors. (I made 2 reports). 3. I had to be very careful regarding the invisible block frames (colliders?) I was going to mount a retractable turret on top till I realized I couldn't dock due to inviable blocks. AARGHH! I eventually switched to regular hovers and thrusters and had a faifly workable unit. I haven't been able to decide whether to have an external cockpit like the Mule ( which can be removed), or an internal one, even though it takes up valuable space. EMT-1 is a air-mobile mini base/medical unit. It's a shame there are no deco units for SV/HV...bunks, consoles, tech equipment. After all, some SV/HVs are rather large. Still kickin' around ideas for additional ETMs. Maybe a CV version in the future as I get more comfortable with this new tech,
I see people making their SVs for fighting troops inside bases, so I figured i'd make one too. It's not getting a designation, like the Jumpship. It's ugly and doesn't deserve an official Forge numerical designation. It's just called the FORGE Gunbrick. I tried it with an SV like others, but there's too many problems with an SV gunbrick. Generally too long to make turns around tight corners, has trouble fitting through doors, overactive turning. So this one's an HV and uses Ground Repulsor Engines: Energy efficient, acts as all-direction propulsion and RCS in one. It's short enough to fit around tight corners and through doors. It can be flipped onto its right side to cover the pilot and core with the guns in a bad situation, while still being able to spin around and fill a room with holes. I think i'll start a new survival game later; give this thing a practical test. The Raider Technical too. I haven't played the nomad playstyle in a while, I might do that.
The last POI I made was designed to make those difficult if not impossible to use inside. Lots of twists and turns and choke points.
If you want to play around with it, here is a link. It was a full survival build back when I originally made it.
Playing around with atmospheric parameters. Found out they can go beyond the limits in the example planet.
