But... what about the rest? Would it be easier to visualize / understand what I proposed with pictures and diagrams ?
It can feel silly that a CV built small and maneuverable but heavily armored with Rocket Launchers in a USS Defiant-like way & it'd have the same Shield Strength as a ginormous Mobile Base. The current Implement may yet be a Band Aid Fix placeholder for now. On the one hand it can frustrate me how inane Implementations can be brought out, but on the other hand I stand my ground that the Devs need to be able to finish the Game's Foundation sometime...
In my experience foundations are best when built strong. Weak foundations lead to a weak finished product.... These new mechanics do NOT have a strong foundation.
All it would take is adding a couple more tiers of shield generators, with higher mass/power cost/CPU/component costs. The higher tier ones could even be physically larger. Some POIs would need the same, to help scale with the new power of player ships. However ideally a more modular approach would be better by building shield extenders to increase your shield's strength.
I think it would be better to remove the placing limits for shields instead of adding more Tier , if you just add more Tier for shields the main problem will be still the same but if you need more shield generators to have more shield you will need to build a bigger ship or you need to build other parts like Hangar , Cargohold or other Parts of the ship smaller .
have to admit i died a little inside after seeing the grim future of the game we once loved. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1877908699&searchtext=
*Not sure if serious or not... * Bumper Cars!!! Woot! I call Blue one! The future of Empyrion, jusdging by the Pic on that Link, is brighterglowier then ever! Was it the glowiness makin ya die a little inside? I take it ya are a Creature of the Dark? (Mind ya I have no bias towards Creatures of the Dark.)
I'm not - the Action Pack Enterprise version is made for Partners, and it's primary use is for workstation machines, typically in lab environments. They usually lack most, if not all, of the Home user version features, or those features are not installed during normal installation. Many can be turned on using the Add Windows Features function, or installed via Powershell. I keep mine as minimal as possible - less to go wrong, plus I typically run anywhere from 3-5 virtual machines on my workstation, so less really is more for me.
I have to agree. I have over 1500 hours into this game back when it was fun so I got my moneys worth out of it. I have no desire to play it in the complicated mess it has become since 9.x although to eliviate that initial game ruination I just turned logistics off with no bad side effects. There are so many great games out there now it's not a big deal. Just changing my review and recommendation for this one and removing it from my list. If I wanted to spend my off hours in a complicated nightmare, I would just stay at work all night.
Ok, I've played with the CPU system a bit now and this is insane. 1) I have built a space station, in survival so I did it the hard way, and it CANNOT be CPU compliant. The CPU cost from the armored concrete blocks alone is over the maximum CPU allowance. This is bare with no devices. So ... WTH!? 2) The large optronics areWAY too hard to acquire. I've looted the entire planet twice over and found ONE! I sell everything I can but there is only so much the traders will buy. It takes 3-4 days in end game mode to get enough for one large CV or base. This is just pointless grinding! It doesn't change what I want to build or how I design things, it just slows things into a pointless grind or makes me turn the CPU system off and load the extender blocks for my players so they can build the CPU compliant blueprints. This CPU implementation achieves none of the stated design goals and is just an impediment to game play.
I think that so many of the implemented "features" are only rough barebones that not realy offer fun or better sayed time of ingame fun , but they could do so many more if they where just be handled as a goal and not just as a lure to hold older players or catch new ones , with the last 2 versions i got mostly disapointed , Shielding is just a block that need to placed somewhere it is not modular or balanced its just a time-stretch and ammo waster , Factions are not realy modable and so mutch more , the CPU could be a realy great feature but it is implemented and designed so worse that i see it more as a type of data garbage , and im realy courius when the planet size bug for custom scenarios (not the random generated like projeckt eden) get fixed .
Since I don't have "sufficent" permissions to post my opinion on the "proper" known issues page let me enlighten you that Easy Anti Cheat is better known as Easy Crash Syndrome - it's been fouling up since you implemented it - maybe scrap that and you'll be better off. I've had to "fix" EAC by disabling it more times than i can count and that was even prior to A6.
I broke my intentction to post here again. But look like on this post there his not progress. Everyone who follow this forum know how much critic i'm on dev work. And so a lot people with more and more hours of game than me. I will like to use spend some world for expain my ( and maybe other ) disappointment. Devisten other people opinion for balance and new features. They have a plan? Someting who we dont know? Yes i think. Cpu is part of this plan? Yes indeed. If you look at the whole change happen on the last mount. We need to say some thing. 1) is cpu a central part of this change? Yea 2) is cpu the best and smarter application of the concept...no really 3) other features make the game better and work nice with cpu? Yes and not. The last point is the most important one. And at this one i something to say for sure..... Instead of a RADICAL change on game dynamic, way dont introduce them gradually. 1) weight and volume; who i really like that. 2) cpu: is really funny, a part of the extender i really find them stupids. As whole. 3) fly dinamic: they suks. Serius, fly dynamic really suck.....as i say long time ago....stop complainning for cpu, and go complainning to fly dynamic. My opinion is who the devs ard a little unable to manovrate they own boat. And that explain all the last bad reviews, complains, etc. So pr attitude was not the best one, planning worst at least. Look like they are a little on denials too. So i really dont know what to say anymore.
Just deactivate it by keeping it from starting within the msconfig - It is at no time active for me(it never started again since 15.8.2018 when I unchecked it there)
I don't really care for the new CPU as is. I do think CPU should be utilized, but not until there is an option to turn devices on and off. In addition devices need priorities assigned to them so certain devices are allowed to fail first while others remain relatively unaffected.
I don't understand the rationale behind the Tiers. Why not just have ONE CPU extender per tier, if you have to install ALL of them to be effective? This is just adding a grind to the mechanism. A pointless grind. --Brian
