This Mining Foreman seems to have his work cut out......to cut himself out of the nearby Asteroid Nevertheless, after a Mining Trip, I found home again Still all in Place and Running, no died Plants, as Fuel Tanks are at about 80% Capacity.
After, hmm.. 10 days? I finally painted my HV. I know, it doesn't sound like much, but for me, this is a significant indicator. Since painting a thing has no effect on its visibility or performance, it is a purely cosmetic effect - which, to me signifies a construct to be worth the time and effort it takes to paint it. Tiny, size 1, level 8, Tier 1 wood harvester, dubbed Deathwatch, after the wood-eating beetle of the same name. With a capacity of 3547 units, this little, speedy HV can keep your biofuel supplies well-stocked and your generators running. It's cheap, fast, and makes a good scout vehicle as well. It's unarmed, unarmored (no additional armor layers), but can easily be outfitted with light weapons and armor if really necessary. It can also be retrofitted with a Tool turret for wreckage/structure disassembly or repair work if desired. (And yes, if you look closely enough, that is a Rados Patrol Vessel in my BP list that was shot down, captured (re-cored), blueprinted and fully restored. What it isn't is particularly useful as a CV, but it does look pretty neat).
Working on a new POI, that i've started several times and given up on. Even the version it is now doesn't resemble what i'd wanted, but it'll do for an alternate. It's a floating Hydrogen Refinery for a place in the future. I don't have any decent screenshots, except maybe this older one from a day or two ago, which doesn't quite match how it looks now. There's currently walkways all along the underside, pipes all over it and some other stuff.
*Looks at Thruster thrusting right into the Harvester...* Ya know what? Wouldn't it be cool if one could do this on purpose & have the Harvester channel Heat into its Blades to rip apart foes with Slashing and Heat Damage at the same time...? Maybe glowin 'doom red' for good measure? That's what we get when they can Cheater Spawn in all the Akua Wine they please.
You wouldn't happen to have a blueprint of that little yellow passenger stair truck do you? I'm intensely curious to see how it was put together. I'm liking that a lot.
That's just a jet-propelled lawn mower blade. 164,000 RPM's. But yes, it would be cool if it did heat up.
Spent hours designing basically the whole new stern for my carrier, just to realise it's terribly ugly if you look at it from top or behind... I suck at designing ship sterns and I don't know why...
Tried out the dead planet start in Project Eden... and either it's not ultra hard or I am way more savy then I thought, but I find it fairly easy...
I have to admit I find it pretty easy too. @ravien_ff was very generous with the amount of loot POIs around - for a dead planet, it's crowded with stuff! It is very good for a completely different kind of start though. I was almost relieved when I went to the moon and saw my first Zirax drone!
I think it's pretty easy too but it really depends on your game knowledge and play style. Some people find it super hard. Don't worry, I'm planning an ultra hard start. it should be absolutely brutal.
I've just started my first Project Eden playthrough today. Chose the Hard ocean start, didn't want to get too far ahead of myself. So far, the only new thing i've encountered was getting bombarded by a patrol vessel right after reaching shore... repeatedly. No deaths so far when you can dig a hole and hide. Found a smuggler's hideout so that's now my temp base.
Yeah, thinking about it for someone who doesn't know all the blocks and possibilities, it could be harder, but still, you are really generous with the amount of loot and scrap we can get...
