Anyone know with certainty the present state of the "Zirax Base Hacking Mechanic?" There was a point in time when, the "range" on their hacking capacity was "infinite" and that was just about the time I checked out from the game and community for a spell. It seems that, now, they DO have to get into a relatively close range to it, and they seem to lurk in close range to it in order to re-hack if it is re-liberated to player.

back on track with my land carrier starting tomorrow(if im not busy), the star destroyer is on hold for a while, after seeing the Rise of Skywalker im a little bummed out on how it turned out. ny next project after the land carrier will be something small but will be next year.
A quick question for the community. Head up or down? I have been worried about mounting a tool turret upside down on the "head up" version since you cannot flip it's view.
Well, I don't know if up or down, depends what you consider to be secure while working with the Turret while the other Turrets "stand watch". I placed my Tool and Drill Turret inside my Heavy Cruiser.
I love it!!!!!! I think having ships, boats and subs would be a nice little fun feature to have in this game. I remember 2 years ago some people claimed that Elon was going create a underwater vehicle which would be awesome.
Took me a while to pull myself together to hop into EGS - OK, I watched a Stream about archeology and the YD until 3:00AM CET . Finished the Texturing and the Bottom-Construction of the (SV) Formica (Latin for Ant), Size class 2, Level 12, CPU T2
Finished the main part of my complete rewrite err... mod. It needs to be tested for balancing issues, since i'm sure I need to rework thrust values and haven't touched CPU yet. Unfortunately, It's throwing errors and the logs don't tell me where it's happening and even removing 90% of the config still causes errors even though there's nothing to error. Guess it's gonna have to wait until the devs get back from holiday.
Still goofing around with the raised bridge ship, decided to try removing the thrusters from the outer hull and putting/weapon engine pods on the sides. Also experimented with forcefields "linking" the pods.
Updated now the most of my star wars themed ship's (only CV's , SV's will come later) and played arround with hv-sv docking and build a small dropship and drop-pods , i tried to play a round survival but after 10 min it was pure boredom so i deleted the savegame .
That's a darn fine looking marina there. Let's see, what did I do.... Well, been active in the Official US server again. This time I... found a nice abandoned drone base full of goodies, so I was taking an HV over to clean the place up, and while skipping across mountain tops, I came a little too close to a Zirax Missile Base, and they said "Hello", which in Ziraxian, is pronounced with a volley of missiles. My HV when up in flames, and so did I, because nothing protects you from a volley of explosions. When I came to (respawned) I was directly under the missile base. Had a moment of panic, as I realized my backpack was laying along the wall, on the surface, a few hundred feet above me, and I was stuck under the building. Then I remembered - the Survival Tool costs nothing to make, so I made one, dug a little hole, sent my done to fetch my things, and began plotting revenge. Except the Missile Base was shielded, and the few weapons I carried (an Epic Pistol and a Laser Rifle) were not going to make a dent in that shield, which left me one option. I turned to locate my base, which was right about 3 miles away, and started tunneling. And I tunneled, and tunneled and tunneled - about 2 miles, with nothing but a survival tool. I'd have tunneled further, all the way to my base, but it seems I came out at the base of a mountain, on the other side of Zirax territory, about two miles from the missile base. So I rode my bike back to my base, loaded up on Explosive Charges, and went back to the hole I'd made.... That's when Empyrion decided it hated me. About half-way through the tunnel, on motorbike, I was ejected from underground, shot all the way to the edge of the north polar cap, and had to walk back, about 6 miles, in sub-hundred below zero temperatures. Hypothermia and I got to be really good friends. I found my way back to the tunnel, and jogged the mile and half back to my bike, started riding again, and wound up upside down once more, this time I was ejected not to the north pole, but to orbit. Orbit. Space. It's even colder than the north pole here, and there's only one way down, so.... in the words of Tom Petty: "I'm free. Free-falling." An orbital skydive later, I saw the ground coming towards me, and fired my jet pack for all it was worth and at the last possible seconds. I touched down, right next to the wall of that missile base, drones and Zirax troops all around. Lasers crackled, plasma detonated, missiles and rockets wizzed past me in every possible direction, and my handy survival tool opened a nice little hole in the ground, right next to the base. Down, down, down I tunneled again, until I reached that little void below the missile base, and wandered around, looking for the spot I'd marked before, directly below the core. I noticed the missile base was a FORGE Aerospace design, created by Vermillion, and I found the mark I'd make previously - seems shields are no match for a multi-tool Downgrade. I planted charges, and blew a hole in the bottom of the base, exposing the core. One more charge, and the missile base fell. I looted, and looted, and looted some more - enough stuff came out of that base to build myself a rather nice CV, which I put the finishing touches on last night. And if you're wondering... it takes about 2-2.5 hours to tunnel 2 miles with a survival tool through rock, and yes, the little glowing patches of magma are still a thing. They kept me from freezing to death on several occasions while digging.
The new build is done, I decided to name it the Bullfrog. It's a LVL 10, CPU Tier 2 scout that is meant to be upgraded to a miner when the player has the LVL & resources to do so. As always, constructive feedback is welcome.
ADDIT: AND of course! I've got an old SV design that I can spawn in Creative, but it shows up as orange on servers and sp library. I've made a "00" version and stripped it down to the bones and I just don't see what is in it that would make it incompatible with current game version. It seems to be categorized as "disallowed" in vanilla as well as some modded(scenario) versions of the game.
Sweet, thanks! So what I gather then is: it should in theory be possible to build bases which use Zirax hacking teams algorithms against them, i.e., lure them into kill zones that are >~12m from the core.
After a long break it was time to put the new shapes to test. Still a lot of suggested are missing, but at least there are new stuff to play with. I put myself on a small project (this is how they usually begin) and I built a theater. I do not know how much use is for this, I guess some PvP fan will perform on stage on a capable server. I wanted to have some more additions and I hit the class 29 so it was time to stop. Merry Christmas!
