I set up a dedicated server with Project Eden for me and my cousin to play. And i just noticed when ever i die and try to revive at my base it disconnects me. What could be causing this? Its the only time i lose connection.
Its a game bug, a regression from more then one playfield loading on a playerfieldserver. We will fix it
Oh ok thanks i just posted it here as well incase it was a senerio bug. But thanks for the reply. So we should see a fix in the next patch to the game?
The only problem with this scenario is that the most deposits set as small or medium. There are very rare large or very large ones. This makes mining RP unappealing.
If I opt for rich and Plenty I get large and very large Deposits in most cases. Of course depends if no other restrictions keep those Deposits "normal". The Moons around the Dead Planet contained several large Deposits.
Is there an easy way to change the ore type back to normal? The 100% left but zero nodes is killing me.
You could copy the playfields to a temp folder, and then open them all at once and do a batch find/replace using MS Visual Studio Code (free). ctrl+k, then ctrl+o to select folder containing all the playfield folders in VS Code. Then ctrl+shift+f to do a batch find and replace. What you want to change is the "DistTypeCylinder:" parameter. There's your starting point. This is how I change Ravien's resource asteroids to pop up in the mini map at 5km. Otherwise they are too hard to find in space. *cough* *cough* *ravien*.
You do not add but you change the value. In templates folder in the playfield.yaml of orbit playfields. Look there.
I play with great pleasure in this project. Thank you very much to the developer for the great work. I have a question. Tell me, can’t I move further than 15 AU on SV? That is, in order to explore distant worlds, I must have a capital vessel? I know that somehow you can navigate through wormholes, but I don’t know how, or is SV not suitable for this? I have a pentoxide full tank. Thanks ! P.S. By the way, it would be nice to make the default asteroid detection distance of 5000 meters, otherwise it is unrealistic to find them ...
@Varkom SV is a small vessel and not supposed to travel long distances. Forces you to create a CV, but do not need to be expensive or big. Of course if play Single Player (or is server admin) there is a console command for teleport ('tt'). Can pretend jump further (and dump pentaxid accordingly). The Devs plans to make better detection device for space, but until then you can always use the command 'map' (and map hide), or the 'ents' (lists entities as asteroids, POIs and NCPs). There is a config file that you can do changes in for most devices, but not advised unless understand the workings. Do not think the scenario will be tweaked for those. As long as your server or SP, up to you to make your own rules and how to play. EGS is still a game not finished.
@StyxAnnihilator summed it up well. I'll be adding some different ways to help find asteroids, but they do plan on adding in some type of space radar or detection system eventually. There are visible asteroid fields in orbit of many planets, and the asteroid fields on the main map can have dense resource asteroids as well.
