- Predatory wildlife should actually attack things other than us - ie natives/faction NPCs, other wildflife etc. - Prey wildlife should perhaps eat the plantlife - including the stuff we want - a bit of natural competition. - To complete the circle, maybe consider some carnivorous plants that snag passing natives and/or wildlife. - Factions should actually attack each other (if they do, I have never seen it) and hunt wildlife and forage etc. - There should be some wildlife that is active in the day, some at night (while day wildlife is maybe sleeping or whatever). Maybe some particularly unpleasant predators around in the dark. On some planets - maybe 'Pitch-Black' type nocturnal wildlife that would need a serious number of turrets to deal with. - Make some of the wildlife try to get into your base if you leave a door open or other opening etc - encourage us to put internal sentry guns up (no - dont cheat and spawn them inside). - Make wildlife occasionally interfere with left water collectors, condensers etc, but give is a portable sentry we can put down to deter them. Add fish-like creatures (including small schools/shoals of them and monsters of the deep) to the seas and water ways. And I want grenades or make the det-packs throwable - nothing like fishing with a grenade (dead sea creatures should float to the trop for a short while before sinking for the complete effect)
A. For planetary playfields I would like so see... More tower defense strategy similar to 7 days to die. Waves of many troopers invading and no hacks like cutting through walls, and more defense items needed to defend, like shields, emp grenades, traps, etc. Better sounds so you can tell where fire is coming from, right now its so mono, there is no 3D sound. B. For space playfields I would like to see.. More asteroids and needs for space mining. Maybe even a need to build a space station, like you can only build CVs in space. And your SVs with HVs are for exploring planets. Or have a higher level ship, like a Starship that is space only, but that's how CVs should be now that you can dock HVs with SVs.
I would love more sprites for the LCD screens. Like I see the types there are, but I need more of each type. (The bottom type in the picture could be made a bit more clear.) See I like these, but they need more of each one for things like, Ammunition with each ammo type - (3mm Bullets, 15mm Bullets, Projectiles, ect.) All the weapon types - Artillery, Laser, Flak, Plasma, ect. All the different Ore and Ingot types. Spare Parts Base Parts Weapons Locker Outdoor and Indoor Lights Emergency Power Flight Deck Hangar Bridge Cargo Bay Constructor Deconstructor Furnace Medical Observation Deck Reactor Room Crew Quarters Rec Room Mess Hall Yeah there are some of these in some types already, but it would be really nice if you could have all of them in all types so you could label things with a theme. Another thing is it would be nice if you could use a different font size for each line in the LCD screens. Idon't know if that's possible, but it would make things a lot easier.
I agree with the many others who have said "sound design". It's so critical and while EGS has some decent elements in there, I think there's a lot of room to improve. The small things like ship sounds, different types of machines making their own noises, more variety and randomness to animal and outdoor sounds. One of the things I like about Elite Dangerous which I used to play a lot was the sound design in that game is just spot on. You don't even notice it a lot of the time because it's not intrusive, but there are a lot of subtle things there that add to the feeling of being in that world.
I don't even play but just from watching videos I'd have to agree. Improved sounds would go a long way to helping the game feel more immersive, but that might be something done later in development.
Planet or Orbit i just want to see more content. And you guys already fixing it with 10k system and community factions. So i dont need more anything at the moment(About playfields)
Birds in the sky that if you collide with them, you lose a bit of fuel in your ship (since we don't have collision detection). Plants that hide and try to eat you as you walk past. Maybe some tamable animals that if you feed them, they will protect you for a short amount of time. The ability to plant trees and vegetation would make the world feel alive for me - I'd feel a lot more connected to the beautiful nature. And we could cover over all those nasty hand drill spots...
A: Planetary stuff that would make me buy Empyrion 2 times more. Landscape: Randomized caverns, crevasses, random tunnel and tunnel networks. Stalactites, stalagmites. Crystals inside, and deeper ones are more valuable, better, sapphires and trade-able stones. Genesis Project Failure. A reason for us to explore by foot and small vehicle. Encouraging walking/slow travel in the special spots of natural wonder. (Adding further to last post In regards to these unique, richly different, compact spots. One doesn't need to fill the planet with them. Perhaps a few or less per planet, making them somewhat rare and dramatic. A mini story component: The Genesis Project, a colossal failure. A biological terraforming makeover program that went hideously wrong. The 'Genesis Nanoforming Seed Modules' are at these sites, they are fragile and need to be found and decommissioned. The more age to a biological/terrain zone, the more amassed and perilous the wildlife becomes. Find them with your ore scanner on foot, approach, dismantle it. Job is done. The locals at the beginning will gladly quest you the coordinates, allowing you to find the mysterious spot and it's potential gains too. Ridding worlds of the GNS Modules makes your Rep go up, good for trade with locals, earn more secret info, hear of good spots and jobs. This encourages tight, small, exotic areas on the map of which will take your breath away. Like a glistening gem, or an oasis on an otherwise ordinary world. Promotes, mystery, unusual adventures, interacting with and helping the locals, unique spots, rich-wonder filled areas that having you slowing down to take them in. Some planets might be riddled with GNS modules, and highly dangerous ones too, where animals became sentient and robbed the locals weapons caches', then used them.
I love these ideas, I think I know the next POI I'm going to try and make with the terrain filler blocks. Some really cool tunnels and caves.
Tool boxes, acetylene torches, gadgets and gizmos to throw all over the place, junk food, trash and litter. Vines, stains, ropes, cables and leather, rugs, clothing, etc. Basically I wish we had a free mechanic to place items free of the grid block design to decorate places or otherwise trash the entire living area. I'm doing a steampunk temple design and it is just to clean looking. We need to be able to organize places so they look lived in and used. I love the Talon props, but we need so much more!!! I would love to take the design to a whole new level with a building system like far cry has where you can rotate items 360 degrees on X,Y and Z axis. At the same time add a system to put in blocks that can shrink/stretch to fit within a, 2x2, 3x3 and 4 x4 block diameter. That way we can manipulate our own shapes. Allow us to use tools to create curves and indentions and cut away and erode blocks, where we could use it to simulate worn blocks damaged by incoming fire. Last but not least, why not add a free painting mechanic to write/stain the walls. That would come in handy for creating blood splatters. Might as well add dead bodies and skeletons!!!
I had a thought today, not in time for Alpha 12, but I figured I would throw it out. 3rd person view have always been immersion-breaking for me. Especially when you have a 3-layer thick CV cube flying around in space with no windows. Soooo.... Buildable chase cam drones for CV/HV/SV's? The drone would fly behind the build and provide the 3rd person view. To make it even more interesting, allow other players to shoot it, effectively removing 3rd person view from their victim until they can build another chase cam drone. I did not mention the players avatar because I think the existing F5 player drone can be adapted to this purpose.
-Again, missions but on a bigger scale. Freight and courier missions/ mining missions/ exploration and data gathering etc - more npc traffic. Npcs doing trade runs, refueling, landing on planets, skirmishes etc - a dynamic warpy warps loading screen. - more extreme ship shake, rattle and noise when entering atmos. - visible tarnishing on old ships, buildings. Rust, discoloration etc which gets cleaned on repair but does affect integrity. - space debris floating as it would in space. Non static.
For the sake of realistic goals, (at least they seem realistic to me ) 1. Radar and detection technology for the vehicles: Basically radars can work as detectors only to spot NPC's and other faction's vehicles. The level of the radar will determine how good it is at detecting enemy or friendly ships. In code radar can be used to toggle map icons for the entities 2. Stealth blocks: blocks which will not be detected by a radar it can be vehicle blocks or stealth suits for the player 3. Different models of equipment: this could be a huge ask, it seems kinda lame that all the factions in the game have same technology and same blocks and same stats. Good job with the turrets though 4. Player spwanable POI's : means I can spawn a refinery and feed is promethium to give me promethium at much faster rate, and similar stuff for other resources
-in general: things people use, or proof of people using -more deco stuff, vending machines, deco's that look like they are being used.. -the fridges show the "contents"; on the outside you can see through matte glass roughly how much volume is used. -gun racks that get filled in same ish matter (doesnt have to be 1 on 1, just an indication of content) -beds for SVs and HVs, or give the HV spawn chamber a different style option in form of bed? -In general it would be nice to have a choice for devices to have different styles/skins, like how the med stations are done nowmore things for -symbols on the texture gun, labels, could be the same ones as on the LCDs, but wont cost a LCD spot, and dont glow (warning jet blast etc etc) but also things like cracles, dirt patches, garbagey things, debris, dust, scratch marks, bullet holes, etc. NPCs possibility to assign NPC to a vessel and have way points. patrols. movement in POI towns have spaceships warp in and land on planet, or fuel at a station, or pirates attack, vendors, couriers, freighters, take off from planets your approaching, etc. and they could be attacked ofc, with consequences for reputation ofc. nice place to pick up quests and story lines too. not sure how mission making goes now, but it would be cool if there was an easy ish way ingame to set this up and shareable on the WS.
Events! They have been ordered before. Events that start missions! You walk through space and approach a Polaris freighter. You receive a help message that they are being attacked. You accept and if the freighter is not boarded or destroyed you gain reputation and pay in your account. Rescue or bounty hunter missions, depending on the faction. So many possibilities !!! Eventos! Ya se han pedido antes. Eventos que inicien misiones! Paseas por el espacio y te aproximas a un carguero Polaris. Recibes un mendaje de auxilio que están siendo atacados. Aceptas y si el carguero no es abordado o destruido ganas reputación y una paga en tu cuenta. Misiones de rescate o de cazarecompensas, dependiendo de la facción. Tantas posibilidades!!!
For me, the game would be much more enjoyable and lively if some things were REMOVED from it. For example, this terrible stupid roar of engines, audible even in the cockpit, as if you are sandwiched between two engines, directed by the nozzles directly into your ears. I have to turn off the sound all the time in flight. Or the repetitive clack-clack sound in constructors. A much better sound would be a faint background of the working unit. Most sounds are maximized in volume, which greatly impairs the immersion.
