I fixed the Optronics Factory in my scenario, finally making the trading area airtight. Also working on some refits of the default orbital trade stations to make them more lively for the alpha 12 update for my scenario. No pics cause... Spoilers.
Almost a month without furrowing the stars of Andromeda! I present this impromptu CV to be able to fulfill the first Polaris mission since the alien planet where I have to deliver the beer is far away from everyone else, it is impossible to fulfill it with an SV! Built with bailouts of parts that I found between planets to try to fulfill the mission. In the back, my little SV who lost his jump engine in an attack. I do not want to complain but it is the second game I have with a remote planet, without the possibility of finishing the first mission without a CV, because it is more than 15UA away from everything.
I have had that a few times, though resources all too far away for SV rather than missions, so I have a downgraded version of my CV for when it has to take over early game SV duty and get made early with minimal exotic resources.
Level 10 reached, goes slow since not prioritized too much XP gatering. Slapping on RCS and back thrusters give enough mobility, even with green hovers. More lucky with my Project Eden wit Dead Planet start SP. Found many ruins and SV wrecks (5 Overture One's) and other POIs. Done only a couple of rounds around the planet, so can go for Mk2 version of my escape SV. Maybe enough for a shield too. Even found heavy armor and some OK boosts. See no point in building a proper base on planet, rather one in space, so can have solar power. What meets me in orbit this time?
Well today I thought I might try something different. Simple dropped off at a trading station. shot gun, ammo and med armor. Ok that's the only perks. I rummaged through the workshop and found 2 older ships a SV with warp level 12 and a level 20 CV both of them have RCS's and is not even CPU ready. So these are my 2 old relics that I have to get space ready. Spawned them in right next to the trading station as public the SV inside the CV. If I had the fuel to fill them, they wouldn't even get off the ground as both say o% in cpu. So that's my challenge to see if I can get them fixed and flyable. They are stuck right where they are until I can move them. How's that for recycling?
I know I teased that these would be finished 2 months ago but then I started 2 more. Now were just in the final polishing stages, soon to be released as a complete finished package.
Those two on each end look very much like older sunseeker 44s - nice one The big one at the back, if you scaled it up could be an 88.
On another note I just put together a set of crate engines out of the boats. Is this something I should publish? Does anyone other than me build engine rooms?
Actually I built the one on the far end to be an exact scale model of a Ocean Alexander 52 Sedan, inside and out right down to the power plant. The first one in the row is inspired by the new Galeon yachts, however I didn't build it to match any current model. The big one on the side is an Azimut 100 Leonardo. It's difficult to do anything scale because of the wall thickness, it's killing me.
Yes - block thickness is a pain. Great job anyway Those two still remind very much of the sunseekers, but a lot of other models are similar, so I guess I'm just familiar with those and not others
The blue one on the left looks like it would be at home in a large hotrod We really need some textures that are a bit more chrome like...
Well that was a hard lesson to learn. Started working on a poi. Used a poi I had made earlier as my starter. Added to it and extended it. Got it all finished had my scenario bring the new poi into the game. Well that was an epic fail. As the core had been off to one end, when the poi was built it was off set from where the land was flattened. So part of the poi was in the hill that wasn't dug out and I had a lot of open flat ground. So I tried moving it into place using the console. Well that just left a gaping hole in the hill even after I reloaded the game. Well to make along story short. I had to start all over and made sure the core was in the dead center of the poi when I created it from the start. Now the POI lands in the flattened area just fine. So I now know cores must start in the center. You can move it later but to start it must be centered in your poi.
Save the POI Open the console Enter the command: prefabinfo 'Name of POI' -clearpivot Spawn POI bp. Re-save spawned POI. Will now be perfectly centered. Been needing the devs to apply clearpivot automatically on save for a long time since it affect player-spawned blueprints as well.
The CS OBERON MK2 is 97% complete, and is now available from the workshop. Go ahead and run her through the paces and let me know what you think. There is a bit of unfinished space at the rear of the ship (main deck). I may get around to finishing this, but it may be a while. Have IRL stuff that is taking up my time now days. In addition to the small unfished space, she could use info on her various LCD displays and other finishing touches that I just do not have the time for at the moment. Functionality is all there. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1986075920
