One of my favorite starts. Definitely more challenging but very rewarding once everything begins to fall into place.
Converting one of my mountain bases for use outside. Normally they are inside a mountain so structural integrity and support is not a problem. Outside however......Having to get creative with some of the supports... Not sure about the elevator.....
Have you ever looked at one of your older builds and thought "why in the hell did I do that?" Yep, that's what happened to me today. It happened after I decided to scrap a multi-CV build I was working on after I realized there were just too many flaws in the design.
Today, I finalized Outpost 03 and posted it to the workshop. As the name implies, this is better suited for use as a small remote outpost rather than a main base. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2048316326
I finally finished the update to Nexus Station. I can't believe it's been a year since I started although in my defense I did take several breaks from the game. Anyways, it's done! Come check it out! https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1185239983
WOW! That's incredible! Amazing job!!!! Today I worked some more on my scenario. Added a Venus-like planet and another variation of an Ice planet. Now I need to scour the workshop for some nice floating POIs to put on the Venus planet! Also I did more bug reports and general work on the scenario.
Damn that thing is a monster. It is so awesome that when I went to click "like" it froze this website momentarily. I already gave you a thumbs up on steam soooo, "thumbs up x 2!"
Nice! Might I also suggest to make some new stuff in general? Your designs are amazing - some of my favorites. While the station is not exactly your white whale, it would be fun to see others. Just a fun nudge here, nothing more.
Been working on this build for a week or so now. It should be finished tomorrow. A real Legacy POI. Not just an abandoned POI that's been infected. I'm not gonna show all the insides, just some highlights. This is what you get when an Infector hits the ground.
Nexus Station is the one build I feel I need to keep up to date plus I looked at some of the design choices I made originally and thought what the hell was I thinking. It had to be rectified! Typical renovation. Tear one thing down, find two more that need fixing. It got a bit out of hand, especially once I decided to fix the uneven X/Y axis. Got tired of working around it. Now I don't have to. I have a bunch of other stuff but none of it is finished. Maybe I'll get back to it. I'm starting to feel that creative urge again. Edit: I've been working on the station a bit more fixing textures and adding a few extra details. About the only thing left are these empty spaces I'd set aside in one of the habitat rings. I was saving them for grav gens or o2 tanks but it turns out it won't be needed. There was just enough space to build a corridor into these areas without compromising the residential rooms but I'm not sure what I want to do with them yet. I was thinking either officer's quarters or some kind of recreational area. They're corners so the angling is a bit awkward. Not really big enough for a decent sized park or pool area really. I dunno. Still tossing around ideas.
Not reported in for ages I have been busy setting up a co-op server on Nitrado and finally got few friends to play a vanilla co-op game to introduce them to it. I am hoping we may be able to restart once they are more familiar with one of the more challenging Project Eden starts, though not sure how well co-op works with PE (@ravien_ff - only a few players). After looting and pillaging our way across the system, we eventually found a hell hole of a system with a high gravity (4G, diff 4) lava planet and a large difficulty 5 nascent moon and decided it really needed to be pacified being mostly Zirax territory. So, upped sticks and relocated to orbit around the moon: Nice view of the moon from in the station: And after some recon decided to have a ground base just to see what they might throw at us in terms of base attacks. After a bit of scouting, found a nice spot by a lake right in the middle of Zirax territory near several of their bases which should hopefully get their attention After salvaging several POIs, then were have some stupid amount of steel plate and hardened steel plate so making these big stations and CVs barely makes a dent in our resources. Just the overnight build times are a pain. Anyway - despite all the weapons on this ground station - turns out a level 10 base attack actually got through and landed a bunch of Zirax all around on the ramparts with them slowly trying to chew through the shields while we mop them up the hard way. Lets be clear - this place is an utter hell hole with heavy acid rain alot of the time that causes you huge damage through even heavy armor, so all you can do is cower inside waiting for the rain to stop while they are outside chewing through the shield to get inside being slowly picked off by a couple of sentry guns hidden under the ramparts for just this reason. Anyway - it was clear we needed more guns! A large maximally armed T4/L25 ground base helped by a heavily armed CV parked on top didn't seem to quite cut it! So added a pair of large defence towers with rockets, plasma, lasers etc which seems to keep the little buggers offs before they can start spamming rockets. Nice place - acid lake I guess... There also seems to be a spawn point for Zirax with a couple hundred meter of the base, so every so often they spawn in, turrets suddenly all fire and they get wasted Also made a little 2 man co-op starter CV Other than that, some more tweaking on various bases (including those we are using aboev) and I finally got the Orion cruiser CV released to the workshop (the huge ship docked with the space station in one of the above images).
