ROFL. I started a new survival game and worked through the storyline. Not being able to manually start the storyline quests was an interesting twist, at first I thought it was a bug. I like how all the POI's from the previous storylines have been integrated into the new story line. I had an unfortunate incident, I had a CV with the shields turned on but the turrets turned off because I was near a story POI. A heavy drone came in and started shooting at the CV, I figured I had a little time to get back since the shields were on. ... the drone was not shooting at the CV, it was shooting at the SV I had docked on the roof. There was not much left of it by the time I ran back to the CV. Something else, I would like to thank everyone who gave feedback on the Treefrogs. It was greatly appreciated, and both blueprints have been updated with your suggestions.
Finished up the Shuttle and made a few tweaks to the Landing Pod this evening. Shuttle is now on the workshop if you want to check it out - https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2108226015 Highlights: - Seats 7 + Pilot. - Warp Core. - Shields. - Constructor. - Cargo Storage x2 (each a bit over 3k). - 3 Weapon Slots (1 Gatling and 2 Rocket Launchers installed). - Ammo Storage (750 or so). - Retractable Landing Gear. - Front Spot Light. - Automatic Door and Ramp (Motion Switch). - Lever Switches for Thrusters, Shields, front Spot. and Constructor. - Detector
You should consider to use "smaller" calibers to shoot Critters. I witnessed those "near missis" in Polaris-Settlements when the Artillery Turrets hunt Golem at night...
Polaris takes the safety of their employees seriously. (unless said employees are in the line of fire then it's tough luck)
Thats rather a CROSS FIRE! The Turrets shoot inward while the Bases...blast away with Laser Turrets. That's Customer Service? NO F...' Way!
What NOT TO DO with your single SV .... by the dunce that did it ... So I'm raiding and selling duplicate items to Polaris because I need 4 small optronic bridges for my next ship that is waiting in the factory. I head over to the Polaris compound and search diligently for the traders. Found a couple, but none that would take my T1 weapons :-(. So I figured I'd teleport to the orbital station and trade there. Couldn't find the stinkin' teleporter ... hmmmmm. So I jump in my L7 SV and head to orbit. I find the station and do some trading and then I wonder ... just where is the teleporter back on the planet. I find the teleporter on the station and check it ... sure enough, there's one on the planet. So I did what any greenback would do, I teleported to see where it was. It was the stinkin' teleport that you blow up as part of the questline ... and you can't power it back up. So yup, I'm stuck on the planet with my ship in space ... DOH!!! And to top it all off ... I left the engines running ... double DOH!!! That's enough feeling like and idiot tonight ... time for some zzzzzz's.
1) why don't you craft them bridges? buying is not very effective for me 2) found few bridges in POI yesterday, if you want I can spoiler POI name and about that blown up teleporter, I wonder, if it can be used before quest is done?
Did the first test on a dedicated server in A12 with my brother. We started on the Odd Temperate planet since neither of us have played on it before. The raptors made it a fun challenge. Pretty sunrises on this planet:
I'm slowly chipping away at the CV, this time trying each and every thing I know and coming up with new ones to optically brake as many of the flat surfaces as I could, without breaking the overal shape of the vessel. If anyone has some tips or trick they're willing to share I'd be gratefull. Oh, and, I mounted some spotligts and moved some thrusters around, since they were in places where I want to have a corridor. Really don't want to cook myself every time I'm going arond
I go gold asteroid hunting before I start mass upgrading to T3 and beyond. Usually only one of my SV gets T3 before then - often from gold from the planetary remnant POI (I think).
Very nice!!! Its a real shame SVs cant remain docked in the docked pods - I really wish they would sort that out along with all the other docking limitations
Reforged Galaxy A12 day 3 test. Been to the moon now, got magnesium, cobalt and titanium. Explored some wrecks and got some proper experience with one of the new status effects: Dehydration. I've been hit with it a couple of times for standing on my thrusters for too long and getting too hot, but easily treated with any drink. This time though, it was mid-day on the moon and I was getting loot from the crashed titan. I had water bottles with me to keep my temperature down but I ran out and took too long to get to my ship. So I ended up with Heatstroke 2, Heat Collapse and Dehydration. Was basically crawling the last 10-15 meters to my ship but once inside my temperature started normalizing and all those "dangerous" status effects disappeared without treatment and no lasting effects. Dehydration however, stayed. You don't cure dehydration by just getting colder, so I had to run on home to get me a drink before it evolved into Organ Failure. Which I had no way to treat, so best to avoid it. Performance-wise it's a massive improvement over the old/current status effects. Stamina goes down while running, doesn't come back up unless you're standing still (or sitting) and does so slowly. No stamina to 0 in 5 seconds followed by rapid starvation, because that's stupid. There are some other minor stat debuffs related to dehydration but nothing terrible. Got home, had a berry juice. All was good with 3 minutes to spare before it turned bad. Went back a few more times for loot and stuff. Got shot up several times and eventually instead of repairing the ship, upgraded it with a T2 CPU, warp drive and bigger thrusters so it doesn't drag it's ass in space while loaded. Slightly concerned that the CPU allocation for T2+ is too generous since I have plenty of CPU left over for more weapons and don't really need more than a pair of rocket launchers. But i'm operating on less than normal amounts of thrusters in other directions with more power to spare than I should.
Upgraded another of my favourite Workshop CVs (THe Leopard CV (From Battletech)) into CPU compliance. It's not my creation, so no links. Then went on an exploratory Test Run. Found a SMbh system. In case it's not obvious, that's the Supermassive Black Hole in the center of the galaxy. Kinda freaky, being (seemingly) THAT close. Am going back for pictures later today. I was using Freedom mode instead of normal Survival for the testing, if anyone is curious.
