If the Core is actually a indestructible Admin Core that is definitely a Bug/or mishap by the Builder. with damaged AdminCore I meant a Core, when a MultiTool is pointed at it, shows a few points of Damage before having been touched by anyone - just like this here SUCH a Core, even if Admin, can be destroyed. it has more hitpoints than the usual ones - I pumped 8 T2 Shotgun shots into it until it broke.

I'm seeing a hole in the base, so evidently the core was destructible. Did you encounter anything "different" on the bottom level?
As I wrote above, the point is interesting, but it turned out to be of complexity 20 and not 10, the endless spawn of the NPC and the fact that the spawn of the NPC is possible at the walls from which they shoot caused very strong irritation, while we did not use a secret passage that pierced the entire base, we stormed the main entrance, the central square, and then went downstairs, liked the traps, but the point is not very suitable now for the hard settings of the vanilla on a dedicated server due to the scaling of the complexity of the NPC. And even despite 1 black container and 5 white ones, for such suffering a very small reward was waiting for us in the end. Well, I really liked mech mk2 =) at the end.
Zirax commanders shooting through walls is a bug that the devs have been trying to fix for a while. The containers are painted, so color is irrelevant. Those containers are Ultra and Very rare quality.
not only commanders, more laser fighters. In a wide corridor that leads to the last location, 2 laser soldiers stuck their feet in the wall and shot us almost from the ceiling ...
I thought it was intentional so as to force/guide player through the event to get at the base the way @Vermillion intended rather than just blow a hole in it? There are some alien POIs that (AFAIK) are also not missions, but do also have admin cores for the same reason - ie prevent destruction of pathways, traps etc. Now, I do think he has done a great job with the missile base, but at the same time, I am not sure I like the use of admin cores. However, right now I am not sure what a reasonable alternative is. The POI builder want to stop us from trashing their carefully scripted path, the player perhaps wants to blow **** up. TBH it kind of reminded us (on my server) of old school quake/quake 2 type puzzles used to get from one area to the next. Personally I prefer to have the option of solving a problem with a det-pack as well At least you can trash the turrets first (which is an interesting exercise in itself on a co-op local or remote dedicated mp server right now, even if easy enough in solo).
Today, a special task group has closed up to fight with bugs and is engaged in farming, zirax and turrets of players for POI work so crookedly .... that is beyond words. Took a (long!) trip to Legacy space and engaged in a bit of piracy, putting that 40k+ sathium investment to good use Cored, looted, and just a husk left And an advanced core Note sure what to think of getting an advanced core at this stage. My main bases, CV and SVs and HVs are already all T4 and I don't really expect to add much to any. I expect the same will be true of anyone else venturing out this far. Maybe I can build that massive orbital that got trashed by some changes during the A12 experimental phase (only a few K excess of T4 which seems a waste of an adv core), or stick a couple of artilery turrets on something for the hell of it to shot at those level 1 or whatever base attack drones with some extreme prejudice
Yesterday I finally finished building the Pegasus, A Mid Range T2 Cargo hauler, and took it for a test run (it's CPU compliant, btw, but I need to test with M/V, as I don't usually run that in survival). I had just enough Neo from some Ice Golems to build the T2 Extender, so it's still running at 100%. After 1 jump, I arrived at an Asteroid field that had at least 1 Asteroid of each and every type except Erestrum and Zascosium (expected). Neat! until I realized that the Asteroids were strewn out over about 30KM (widest points). I kept pinging and new 'roids kept showing.... Should have some pics later, but not of that sector.
In the past I had a habit of hiding the HV detector in the piping on my HV's. Oppsie. That did not age well. I am going over all my old HV designs, relocating the detectors and fixing the pipe work.
Wanted to see what the other rogue start was like. Turns out, I think it is the same planet just not pitch black. Set up my base camp right on top of some spawners: Unsurprisingly, was less than a good idea. Wow, is this planet gorgeous. The twin moons of Abaddon and Bhaal: The array of haunting beauty was just awesome: (the Gemini triplets Abaddon, Bhaal, and Mephistopheles. We call him Mephy for short.... He loves it.)
Still on the ice starter planet :-( ... but I have a solid base setup (Lunar Compound) and just got my first CV (Marco Polo II) for doing some POI trophy hunting, but that will come later ... For the rest of the day I skipped between three projects ... First, a little fighter Corvette. Empty shell is class 1 and the blue/red are for turrets/thrusters as I'm thinking about just publishing the shell or at least keeping it at a T1 CPU level ... no grow plots planned which makes the build a little easier IMO. Worked on a bigger dog for a while ... currently an empty shell at Class 2 ... sized here to compare to the Titan ... has a 9x5 rear entrance for HVs and a fly thru with 9x5 entrances on both sides ... looks a little too boxy so I'm debating on how to modify ... suggestions? And then I went a little crazy ... tried to make a base which resembled an upright landed rocket ... I think it's a little too big and there LOTs of room inside - the garden level has room for 112 plots ... Enough play time for today ... <yawn> ...
Sometimes when you build a CV without a plan, you just gotta scratch everything you had done.... But I do belive it was worth it, allthough I DO prefer the thruster-"presentation" of the first draft, but I AM alot more happy with the new approach! Trying to get the ceiling to not look flat. The only thing that is left to do, is the bottom side and some of the interior.
