Say has anyone else noticed the problem in creative or is just my system? When ever I use O on a ship while in space to orient myself with another ship. The ship is no longer the same as a poi that has been spawn in by the game. If you get out of the cockpit the ship is different to your own orientation. If you look close in this photo you can see the two ships in the foreground were oriented using O and you can see the space station and the Titan are in a different orientation. Which is the same orientation as yourself when in space. I think something is wrong with O
This is because the devs changed it (intentionally or not) and didn't document it. The O orientation in space is now dependent on your proximity to the closest planet/moon. If you are within a certain distance of a planet or moon (haven't figured exact numbers yet) then when you press O it tries to orient you to the surface of the planet/moon. Then once you get a certain distance from a planet or moon then it orients you to "galactic up" instead of the surface of the planet. You can see this behavior if you hold down O while flying away from a planet after leaving it's surface. It will constantly slowly adjust your angle to keep you oriented "up" in relation to the planet surface below/behind/etc/etc instead of "galactic up". After a certain distance it stops orienting you to the planet. POIs on the other hand are spawned to galactic up unless specified otherwise, at least I think.
Well who ever thought this one up never has played the game! Or spent any time in creative! This is madness you know how hard it is to land or work on stuff in creative now? Look at this photo and it shows just how wrong this is! The two ship have had O used on them and look how close they are to a station! So the moment I align two ships with each other and I'm in GM I'm still aligned to galactic up. Once I leave the cockpit it's all out of wack to work on anything. If they aren't going to fix this then they best move the Titan and the space station away from the planet so everything is aligned to galactic up. So you can work on things around the station.
Today I had my little WTF Moment while cleansing the Abandoned Factory: Opened the hidden Door to get to the Ultra Rare Loot Container, opened it and... EMPTY!
Yup this can sometimes happen. Just imagine some pirate snuck in and stole the loot before you! Love that pillar! @Fractalite we need to use that now.
Yes - its annoying. Bug? I have found if I go out top about 7k or so its starts to work again. Used to work around 2k. A quick look in the data files and I cant see an control for it, so I guess it something hard codes they changed (accidently?)
I know the Devs want us to move further out. But I didn't think they meant like that just to work in creative lol.
I didnt know they wanted us to move further out - I guess they just want to rub it in our faces more how slow even space travel is I really miss SE's jump-forward / jump-to-waypoint jump drive. This is something else that maybe shouldn't be hard coded and instead part of the playfield, or at least sector/solar system definition.
Today I finished the ship ... This is not a public version, there aren’t any specials here, and there will be small changes in the public version after tests in the Eden project. Visual effects are added but not much. =)
I spent today impatiently waiting for crops to grow, and the Zirax to attack. Does anyone else think it.... odd... that you can tell rather precisely when the Zirax are going to try to wipe you out, but you have no clue how long until your plants are ready to harvest?
Finally finished updating the Abandoned Reactor which i've been working on since I put my Reforged Eden survival game on hold when I discovered this horrid POI and the dozen Very Rare and Ultra Rare loot containers it contains that it shouldn't. Found it a few days ago and walked out with a couple sets of armor and epic weapons and not much of a fight. Old vs New (this is actually from yesterday, so the new one doesn't actually look quite like this anymore) Reactor Room Pump room.
Its one of the new(er) pillars that was added a while ago. The one that can be placed in the centre of the square / block. Excluding the top it seems to have 4 surfaces that can all be individually textured: I use it every so often to make something that stands out a bit: There's certainly some interesting combinations, when you experiment with different blocks
@Vermillion .... sooo, you are making one of my fave POIs tougher? (I love the Abandoned series of POIs, and the reactor is one of my faves... it's a "lighter" version of the series, although I agree the loot is way too generous compared to others)
I never really noticed that one, and now, I'm sincerely regretting having to go to work in 20 mins, because all kinds of ideas are popping up. Thanks for sharing
I don’t know what @ravien_ff conjured there ... But the eden project amazes even from the first planet! Quests as always did not =) A suitable name for the screenshot is My Beach, My Shotgun ..
