Finaly finalized the last updates, but I really wish CPU T3 was at 50k, since I got a perfect 49'999 usage https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2163026801
Still attempting to make an assymetrical sv, turret toting gunship in Reforged Eden. Calling it Strongarm right now, the turret is underside of the large "arm" on the left. It flies okay, and will fit more guns as soon as I can find some bloody titanium rods. However... I'm not sure about this thing. Thoughts? Criticisms? Should I consider this a dumpster fire idea and scrap it?
Each time anyone comes up with asymmetrical Vessels I get reminded of a German WWII Plane, the BV 141. So I find any attempt fascinating
Been away for a bit and saw this when I was browsing through the posts since I was last online. Did anyone answer this already? Spoiler: From an abandoned project This one of the hangar tunnels from an abandoned project of mine. Now I left the entrance/exit of the tunnel itself open, but I was thinking you could adapt what I did for the hangar bays for your actual entrance/exit. To blend the gimmick into your own creation, you would probably have to implement something like this a little down the throat of the entrance/exit(s). In my case, these unusual door dimensions were already inside the vessel. Here's a better shot of the closed door. I am using shutter doors from top and bottom to meet in the middle. The completed work would eventually be setup on a motion sensor that would allow the doors to open/close as one with the approach of SV/HV. Unfortunately, I am not aware of sensors being triggered by CVs yet, or has that been changed while I wasn't paying attention? Anyways, last I knew, hangar doors didn't work when CVs approached either, so I don't know of any solution for that. Until you opened the doors, the channel I used to hide the shutter doors partially was not visible from the outside. In the image below, you can see the stairs I included should I have found myself walking through the channel. From the backside, you can get a better view of the channels and the portion of the shutter doors that I was trying to hide from breaking the lines of my tunnel. Perhaps this can offer some inspiration for your own project?
Now that was interesting, looked at a few of those planes in wikipedia, I think maybe I'll rework the idea a bit as more of a recon plane. I haven't really played much with aerodynamic lift based builds yet. Plus i finally scrounged up some titanium rods and got some tier 2 extenders built, so I can build a better fighter now.
Today I worked more on my scenario. I do with to thank a few people first @ravien_ff for putting up with me. @Khazul for his ship Saturn! It never has looked better! @jrandall for his Crawler base which I highly changed the main bay. @-=Ice=- for his Scout 7 all I did to his was just call it Scout. It's a fly by the seat of your pants kind of ship. Bad Wolf: I'm starting on an ice planet. I just took a job, sight unseen. Seems after the Saturn had some kind of major accident the crew along the rest of the crew on the Crawler have all walked off. Complaining about harsh conditions. I don't know where the Saturn was left on the planet. I'm dropped at the Crawler with no idea of the state of things. This is what I get for agreeing to a job, sight unseen. The poor Saturn will take some work This is what it looks like in creative. I still have to find it in my game. The outside The inside. It use to look like the other side here. I found the place a shambles. The old crew's slow mobile mining SV was left laying around outside I had to go find luckily it was a short distance. Same was true for the HV Miner. Took some work and a fair bit of scavenging to bring in the Scout to make my job easier. That old boat of an SV is so slow! I just finished getting things powered up from the left overs I have found in my new home and have closed down for the evening. The HV in the back there The new Scout on the left and the old SV boat on the right. Just a view from the hanger door looking inside. My new home on this frozen world.
So far, no one has offered anything sensible. Yes, and while I rest from creativity. Just playing the Eden project. Admire the views Surviving Violent ziraxes In a week or two I’ll be back with my two not yet completed projects.
Found this beauty on the workshop today: One of the best reproductions of anything I think ive seen. Soon to be converted into a carrier!
Today I joined a project eden server. This is my first time trying to start a play through on a public server, and there were a lot of things I had to get used to. I chose the strange temperate starter, and it took me about 20 minutes to find 3 iron ore for my portable constructor. After that I just turned crushed stone into all the resources I needed. Made a basic HV to find deposits, all I found said 100% despite there being none in there (someone in chat said the server owner did that so autominers still work or something?) and found no meteorites. I finally got somewhere when I found a crashed dse-2 and chucked the entire thing in the factory to get a basic SV going (also first time playing with mass and volume and I could barely fit anything on that HV). After salvaging the entire ship + turning stone into copper, I finally spawned in my SV I’ve been working for since stage 1. Before I had a chance to fuel thing a base attack triggered, and since I expected It to be another troop transport I ignored it. Next thing I know rocket drones blew up everything I had before I had a chance to craft a gun or ammunition. I’m gonna be taking a break from this server, but I still want to do a playthrough on a public server, so I’m going to try again in a few days once I rebuild my spirits
Well I found my target thanks to scout. Marked my staging zone. The old boat works well for dropping off the miner. At least it's has a nice warm feel to it. Fully shielded too. Great for dropping into a ore site and dig it out by hand. Or even in space. Nice top drone hatch. Tunnel Rat all packed up. Heading out to the staging area. I will let you know what happens later
I did leave a hint inside the "Spoiler" with my prior post from one of my abandoned projects that I thought might help with inspiration. As for myself, today I saw something interesting in my creative saved game. Something tells me a glitch happened, although I found the effect sort of cool in its own right.
I found a cool little moon and put out some autominers. It has some cool views of a large gas giant. The only bad part is that it has the spawn of Satan all over the place, not the type of place I'd call home about. I give it 2/10 stars for effort, but 7/10 for the nice view. Visiting the POIs is cool, I'm interested in finding out about the advanced race that is leaving all the technological ruins. FYI, never venture into a burial chamber if you suffer from arachnophobia.
oh, thanks, but I already used this principle of the “gate” earlier in Zeus, but if you think so, then almost everywhere =) This is the only way to close unformatted hangars.
Your just going to love this. Tunneling to this base and trust me it took time too. The first thing I see when I pop my head out of the ground was the one thing I didn't want to see! NO!! Not made by @Vermillion So I took one spot and started planting the Explosive Devices to be break in. I pull out my handy multi tool and had a look. WHAT no damage? Well they are Armour-ed concrete. Well need a bigger weapon I thought. Headed back to my miner For the ride back to my staging area When I got to the end after the 1K+ trip I parked my miner in the tunnel and told myself "I'll Be Back!" in my best Terminator accent in my head. Got back to base and discovered what it was going to take to make a rocket launcher and rockets. Need cobalt and magnesium. Right not on this plant! I know I will head to the moon. Checked the map and saw it had no moon. Means I need to jump to another planet. But wait I don't have the Saturn. I still have to find it and fix it. I checked on my level and found out I could make a warp drive for my boat. That too needs Cobalt 50 no less. YES! it has thrusters I can break apart for the cobalt I need to make the warp drive. I can go find the magnesium! I'm now the proud owner of a warp capable boat. Off to space I went. Wait there is a space station out here! I can sale the stuff I have on board. I had already sold some on the planet but only the little stuff. I had found a med amour so flogging that gave me the funds to buy a T2 launcher and 8o rockets! I didn't have to go anywhere else just yet! Back to the planet! Straight to the staging area. 20 rockets later and not even a dent. The old brain had kicked in at last and twigged on the fact it was an admin core I packed everything up and headed home I should have known Vermillion hates Tunnel Rats At least I can get off this world and find what I need to fix the Saturn. So not a total loss. Now I have to pick a different target. But that's for another day.
I am working on an alternate base module. The prior CV was a farm. This one is supposed to be a parts factory. In contrast to the farm, this one has no fridges and no food processor. This was also built to be upgraded to tier 2 to expand cargo capacity and bump the constructors up to four advanced. Space prepared to add more thrust as well to lift it off from a base with filled containers. However, this leaves me with a question about said container(s) and linked constructors. Is it better to have the input and output set to the same container? Or to use separate containers for input and output?
I prefer Input and output to be two Different Containers. If the Input and Output is one Container Expand it to max size of 320k so you do not run too fast into troubles.
EEEEEEEEEE! I built this handsome one! Now it remains to score ammunition, build a tank and you can advance first for resources, then just fly through the galaxy ... while doing quests for the Eden project. True, first you still need to finish off the remnants of ziraxes on the planet and the moon, but this is the case for the tank =) Well, you practically repeated our feat, only with shielded buildings we immediately took rocket launchers and explosives as a habit of walking. If my memory serves me right then this save also has a missile base on the launch planet. It is necessary to go for a lutz ... otherwise I pulled out one heavy armor because of bugs. I use two 320k storages on all large ships one for resources another for products saw pose and more Lol! While writing a post, they brought up a little lutz =)
