I completely agree. It really does feel like their being payed. Some of them just insult or play down the bad reviews because it doesn't conform to their narrow minded, boot licking opinions. What a pathetic way to act against people who bought this game and have put their mostly legitimate concerns in writing. Some people have played this game for years yet this guy feels entitled to treat them like ****.

Its these kind of people who blindly defend every action almost instantly, and who are part of the problem and part of the reason this game is in such a bad state.

Looks like your saying to another Empryion player who bought this game and a member of our Empryion community that if they don't agree with you that they should leave? Excuse me!? What gives you that right?.. Just because they don't agree with you that doesn't mean they have to go. Grow up!

If you don't enjoy yourself here, why do you stay ?

What is this "community" you talk about where half the players are "bootlickers" ? You want this other half to join you in your irrational rants and accusations ?

    Nice.

One of the perks of having free will is that those with it can choose what forum goers they wish to interact with. If I see an unpleasant or objectionable or outright demanding post, well. I see their demand and reject it.

Interact with me, they demand. Reply to me! Answer my questions! Leave this thread and do not return!

    Hmm. Nah.

As far as I'm concerned, Empyrion’s V1.0 is like Minecraft’s 1.0. The game is basically playable, but there are more to be created.

lol... @Israel has clearly been uncomfortable here for a few days, yet he can't let it go. He's not the only one, but he sure reacts in a very predictable manner.

It's much easier to simply try to understand without plunging into paranoia and searching for allies. I gave numbers up here, that should be enough, and if not then I am curious to see what reasonable argument can be proposed against it now. Calling me and others "bootlickers" is not a proper way to show these numbers are wrong.

Poor guy has nothing better to do then tell others to leave if they don't agree with him or troll them constantly so they want to leave. Was there a logical argument you wanted to make related to you know Empyrion? Instead of telling others to leave for not agreeing with you?

Another attempt to bypass the point. Ambaire pretends some players are "blindly defending the developers". If he does not believe what the developers tell us repeatedly, why does he stay here ? If we ask a thousand more times, the "foolish" developers might finally answer differently ? Who are the fools here ?

He doesn't have to answer, but we can all see that.

Now I show numbers : that's not exactly "blindness" regarding the fear that development may halt due to lack of funding because bad sales because bad reviews. What do you have to say against these numbers ?

Well even if I sometimes agree with you that there needs to be a bit more focus on stability, and holding the "line" for a while so focus can be more on playability and the other issues that have plagued players, I do have to add that the best way to do this is by being part of the community, and instead of focusing on whats wrong, giving good feedback on what and how to improve things. Also having enough sense to understand when things go from improvement to full rewrite, something that would make the game more unstable.

I am one of those that have spent a LOT of time customizing and adding content to my own servers, to get my guests (yes i call them guests) to engage and stay for longer. My main issue have been that the customization is broken so often that I have to do a lot of work over and over again from more or less scratch. But my way to go about it, in part from complaining a little now and then, is by trying to give constructive suggestions, as well as actually suggesting solutions also when i come with an issue.

There is a massive job ahead, especially when it comes to documentation and stuff. The wiki is outdated and a lot of the info there is from version 8.7 and havent been really updated since. And in the configs you find references to new things without documentation. This is things that blocks me from doing even more to help improve things from my side of the fence. Let me just give you an example, with the territories and new NPC factions introduced in v12, I had to rewrite a lot of maps to conform to this. Then after spending houndreds of hours bug tracking my maps to why some POIs wouldnt load, I just learnt that for example only POIs with faction Zirax will load in Zirax territory. This was not documented anywhere, and for me that made loads of maps where i mixed NPC POIs to make an appearance of invasions, suddenly had to rework it all.

So now I also had to make a lot of POIs that earlier was Alien or Zirax, to Civilian. And then go into each spawner and set the creatures to Alien or Legacy. This was things that wasnt easy to figure out, but i did. Well i am rambling on here. My point is simply, help out, be positive. Having a negative attitude in your complaint will turn people away from listening, when you really want them to "tune in".

Not sure what your trying to say here. Are you saying that Eleon lacks the money to pay their developers? If so why do you think?

Don't try and blame the consumer, Kass, because they didn't like the product. The logical thing to do is to blame the ones who made the product for the consumers, the developers.

If the developers want to make more money, then make a better game that the consumers who you are trying to reach will want to play.

It's because this game has either been refunded, bad reviews, the consumers don't recommend it, or don't like it anymore. Its not the consumers fault, they didn't make the game. They played the game and found it unsatisfactory. The fault lays with the ones who actually made the game for the consumers, the developers.

I just saw it, it looked like you tried to devalue the consumers opinion because they made Eleon money. Thats not right.

I'm already part of the community; not agreeing with you doesn't make me not part of the community. It just means we disagree, and like civilized grown up adults we let the best and most logical argument win and not feelings. :)

What I think of these reviews is irrelevant : it's what Eleon thinks that matters. And they made the move despites this, not me.

Now have a look at these reviews and see for yourself if these "new players" were really surprised by the game :

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------
The game came to 1.0 today the 5th of august, and the guy played 235 hours, but he waited today to write his review :

    (rants on 20 lines)
The idea that this game was ready to declare itself out of early access is laughable, or it would be if anything at all was funny or particularly enjoyable about this game. i don't find myself smiling or chuckling at anything I do in this game. There is no real feeling of accomplishment because the game offers nothing unique to the sandbox game or the SciFi genre. There's nothing special about this game, which tells me that the developers never had anything special in mind, just create a game like Space Engineers or No Man's Sky, and to fail in that regard, but also to create a similar product with no stand-out features or definitive moments of play that make playing the game worthwhile.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------
    Same here, with 161 hours

I loved the potential of this game much as I did Towns. There is a great system that could have developed into a great game. Instead, they pushed to 1.0 with some vague promise that they weren't feature complete and they promised more would be added.

Quick overview of the sandbox portion of the game. You get materials to make a basic hovercraft or small ship. That helps you get materials to get into space where there are asteroids, undefended, filled with materials to make the big ship. At that point you can go to other systems with your big ship to get advanced materials to make your already powerful ship more powerful.

    And then...

You now have shared a piece of how I felt about this newest patch
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------
Another one with 135 hours :

I like Empyrion a lot. I just can't recommend it because it has so many bugs and partially complete features.

I built a capital vessel and flew to another part of the galaxy - so cool. I went exploring in my small vessel and came back to my parking spot... CV not there. Must have been blown up by Zirax scum while I was away. So luckily I had resources in the factory to build another cheaper one which I did. Flew into space and there is my CV! Apparently this bug can re-position your CV underground also. Much harder to find in that case. For me it was only luck that I recovered all my stuff. Many players lose everything.

So while there is a lot to like about Empyrion - great building, streamlined and adjustable difficulty of survival there are many many bugs. Some really crippling like having the huge ship you put so many resources into disappear. Also unfinished campaign and really buggy missions.

Love the game but can't recommend. Eleon Games will hopefully get there eventually but right now this isn't ready for 1.0 tag IMO.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------

    played : 13 hours... since 2015 ?

Let me start by saying I have played this game since its original release 5 years ago and enjoyed it for a time before the updates riddled it with so many bugs that I couldn't even load the game without crashing. So i put the game aside for a while and came back to it when I could. I am not going to do a Pros/Cons for this game because honestly it doesn't deserve it. The game is not in a releasable state even after 5 years. Just a few months ago the game was still in alpha but of course the devs want money so why not push a release to get it back in the top results on steam so people see it and buy it. The game when it works is pretty good and if it was actually polished and the bugs taken care of would be good. But just like so many great games in recent years (Fall Out New Vegas, Fall Out 4, Anthem, Skyrim, Destiny 2, No Mans Sky, and others) this game suffers from releasing with game breaking bugs. And honestly it needs to stop. Just because developers can patch the game after release should not enable the fact that they release broken products. If this was any other product people would be out-raged.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------

This is pure hypocrisy. Now I don't think Eleon's staff is going to believe these are "new players" that are "shocked" by the game. This is about half of the latest negative reviews visible on the "recent" filter.

And this is not different from what has always been the "reviews" for Empyrion.

Just because you don't agree with their mostly legitimate complaints about the game doesn't make them hypocrites or their reviews any less important then yours.

I'v heard these kinds of complaints countless times. This game is truly incomplete, and most features are either incomplete or not features that should be in the game as a way to create class and specialization like CPU and the weird badly done earth physics that is being used in space. This earth physics favors a particular triangle shaped ship which leaves much to be desired if you want to make other shaped ships because those ships will have a hard time flying either in space or in planet.

Once again : it's not what I think that is important ; it's what Eleon thinks. And if they have been warned and told us they don't need the money, why the hell are we wasting time on this ?
