I posted this from the Point of View of a Faction - Definitely NOT for MP - as a Personal opinion how I see the difference between being Neutral or Friendly with someone.
Ok, but my comment still stands for SP. In Single Player I can visit any faction I like when I'm Neutral. I can walk round their bases. I can trade with them. I just can't teleport to them. Doesn't seem logical.
sure but you CANT use their Transporters...and that is my point. As it should be a matter of earned Trust and a not case of "oh, look, they have a transport! I am sure they wouldn't mind if I use it!"
Very true, I can't use their Teleporter while I'm Neutral. Maybe this should be changed. The Polaris Orbital Trading Station is, as the name implies, a trading station, where you spend money. If I were the Polaris I would let people use our Teleporter as they are spending money at our station. Logical. I will stick to flying there until I get 'friendly'
Maybe this should be changed - NO Getting all goodies for free is not the way Faction Reputation is intended to work. The changing of the required Status Friendly to be able to trade with Polaris was only done because of the requirements of the PDA. This is of course only my Opinion, but I hope the Devs do not go done the ladder any further with this.
think of it like this. You go to a store and they will gladly sell you items, but might not let you use their phone, bathroom, etc unless you are on good terms with them. Neutral allows trade. Friendly allows trade with better prices Honored allows trade with even better prices
Not coming to your store, if you only allow certain people to use your bog. If I owned a store I would allow neutral & friendly to teleport to it. Bring more customers in therefore more money.
just think, a few updates ago, you could not even trade unless you were friendly. So at least you can trade. Besides it is so darn easy to get friendly with POL. Takes me at most 2 hours from a new playthru to get friendly terms, so not really an issue if ya think about it.
I am 'friendly' with them now. I completely forgot about the small missions and I thank you for reminding me. It just seems illogical that you can trade but not teleport to them.
Just curious, are you friends with every shop owner you go to ? I think neutral makes perfect sense to trade. For the teleporters to be used i can see why you would need a friendly status. ( friends can use my car not random people ) So as is atm no changes need to be made imo
the logic is like this: if you are not at least Neutral then you are an enemy and want nothing to do with you, no trade, will attack on sight etc if you are neutral, they don't dislike or like you, and will only do something that gives them an equal benefit (Trade) if you are friendly or above, they like you and will then allow you do do things that do not benefit them (teleport) there are more things that require friendly such as mining in their area, spawning blueprints etc.
yes as trade is an "equal' exchange.. using their items gives them no benefit to them, only to the person using it. they don't care that it makes it easier for you to trade with them
haha.. really??? You have your opinion and I have mine. I have stated mine and you have stated yours. I agree with mine and you agree with yours. end off...
lol, I was just being funny. but yeah I understand where you are coming from, I hope you understand where I and the devs are coming from too.
I've had to work my way up to getting the levels to get a Teleporter but that is not enough in some cases. I am playing the game differently this time and trying something new. Personally I don't see a problem with recognising someone has worked their way to to level 15 and let them use it if they are Neutral or above.
well in SP you can alter it however you like. In MP you have to abide by the rules of the server. I understand what you are saying but that is just not how the game works. (but again you can change to your hearts content in SP)
I understand why my opinions don't work for MP but I'm talking about SP. I don't like the answer "you can change it in the files" cause that not what you should be expecting player to do. Maybe another thing to add to the Settings.
well you have really only 2 options in SP: Play the game as it is, or change it to play the way you want it to be played.
