DOOM! DOOM! DOOM! THE END IS NIGH! ... Thats enough sarcasm, back to playing the game between jobs I go.
Confirmation bias is a very strong motivator. "I don't like this, and it makes me feel better surrounding myself by people who share this opinion. If I spread my opinion, as well as the opinions of those who agree with me, it will somehow add a level of 'truth' to my opinion."
Denying that ones model home has a cracked and broken down foundation doesn't change the reality. I snipped out the White Knight part of that review, but it seems White Knights are everywhere.
It is your opinion that your model home has a cracked and broken foundation and is unlivable. To others the foundation needs work and they trust the repairmen are working on it. And in the mean time for many the home is still enjoyable to live in and not throw a fit and go running from screaming. Other people share your opinion, good. Its fun to gather people around us that share our opinions.
Do you really see that review as objective ? Is my question "white knighting" for the game as ultimate experience ?
I think thats a more honest reply to why you even wrote that. So much more honest. Such hypocrites, they've been talking about steam reviews all day and sharing them, then when someone who's not part of their boot-licking cult shares one they turn into mindless zombies. hahaha
Remember the 10 Commandments of Logic... Do you think what Ambaire posted (the long "funny" review) is an objective review ?
Opposing views are absolutely fine. But repeating the same droning angst while offering nothing of redeeming value adds nothing to the conversation. Despite your edits, no one told him to be quiet and go away. Its sad you feel this way. Angst filled player: "I dont like this game" Relatively happy player: "Ok, that sucks." Angst filled player: "I said I really dont like this game." Relatively happy player: "I heard you, sorry you dont like it." Angst filled player: "I repeat, I really dont like this game and here is someone else that doesnt like it." Relatively happy player: "So you have company, ok, I still like it." Angst filled player: "No, you shouldnt because this is why I dont like it." Relatively happy player: "Nah, Im good." Angst filled player: "See, here is even someone else that hates it." Relatively happy player: "Why do you keep posting here?" Angst filled player: "WHY ARE YOU TRYING TO SILENCE MY VOICE!"
He wrote over and over again that he doesn't like the game. Yea, we've all got it. Moaning one more time doesn't add anything.
In reality you don't agree with his differing view so you call it a droning angst. But i can do the same to you. Your view is a droning angst. See how easy it was for me to use your own nonsense against you? We get it, you don't agree with his views. Moaning one more time doesn't add anything. See how easy i can use your own nonsense against you?
The more these rantings go on, the less they are relevant. The reviews graphs show that quite well, and here on the forum we have more chances of "influencing development" by using our creativity and brain than by simply repeating negative mantras. At best this "negativity" could be used to support necessity of specific changes, but simply repeating an unfruitful method will yield the same results it always did.
