I finished building a new stellar cartography room to my group's base. It's basically an all armored glass room at the top of our base. I then built a number of forcefields to give it a milky universe look, and manipulated the LCD projector to display relevant information about the systems/planets we've visited and minerals available there. There are 4 lights () which I used the blue-purple color at 4.0 intensity and 20m range helping to complete the look. It's not a "true" stellar cartography room like the one seen in Star Trek: Generations but I'm still very happy with how it turned out.
I can't believe some players are unable to have fun noodling with any of the multiple aspects of this game. It's like there's a piece of everything in there : circuit logic, building, shooting critters and ships, painting and texturing, making stories/ scenarios, playing with file configs and testing live, making whole "planets" from ground to skies, solar systems... Now I'm just putting stuff together and pressing keys... It's not a brick, it's a prototype. Shape will come later. .
Last night, I tested my mining SV in survival. Recorded the session. Didn't do a good job of staying focused on the mining test. [edit] Hmm... I missed the fact on the prior recording that I am getting black bars on the bottom and to the right side. So painfully obvious that have to wonder how I missed that.
Hi everyone, hope you are all well. With 1.0 out and a lot of new features i began a new game in the Reforged Eden Scenario. Starter system is enough explored to build now my first CV to explore now further away in other systems. Therefor a CV is in production that should resemble my loved but old Vascuess SV. The first try was to flat and would get longer as wanted therefore in proportions... The second one now feels correct for me Design of the front arms isn't finished and will most likly change more than once...
Started Single Player with scenario Project Eden, Dark Rogue. No MVC and roughly medium, else just add grinding time for me. Have gotten a basic HV with harvester and gatlings (got some wood from a NCP). Can build a SV and leave the planet. Last time I played it were able to actually set up a solar powered farm with 4x 9 grow plots, average 46 PU (1 small O2 tank and ventilator, no door). So about to try it again, meaning I could survive without leaving the planet.
Are there any guides available that I can read up on around editing/creating planets and systems? Also, is there a way to "inject" these custom planets and systems into existing save games? I remember reading somewhere that it'll break the game database (or something to that effect).
All tools : https://empyriononline.com/threads/list-of-managed-mods-and-tools.92301/ For playfields @jmcburn has made a very cool editor with a GUI and all game icons, tooltips : https://empyriononline.com/threads/tool-empyrion-playfield-designer-v2-exp.37581/page-45 For scenarios the "how-to" dates back to Alpha 6 I think (simple starter guide): https://empyriononline.com/threads/read-first-faq-for-customization-scenario.11204/ And you can use the PDA (for scenario) helper made by Rexxus: https://empyriononline.com/threads/tool-ewpda-empyrion-web-pda.82979/ In the "playfields" section there are more FAQs, in the "building" section too... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The problem I had was that because of the size of the engines I needed a clear way to visualize how can I make the whole thing compact, while still being "maneuverable" because of the new flight system (I did many tests and it's very weird, but this one works perfectly) and see the overall volume in a glimpse. Since it uses the Jet Thruster XL (3x10x3) it can't be a "low profile" ship for the purpose I intended, and putting blocks all over these show the "lost space" I can try to switch places to make it useful.
Yeah that's the thread I had come across. While not impossible, it currently seems sketchy to inject a planet into the game at the risk of breaking your entire save.
Today I... So I'm poking around with the aircraft carrier on trifles ... there will be a lot of empty space fenced off well, or rather, left in reserve =) I scattered the weapon around the body ... I wanted to make a video for about five minutes how I finally do it ... ha, to laugh myself ... but the f*cking program with the letter B did not accept the press of the record button ... so admire the screenshots Even after such a rest from the EGS, hundreds of ideas for creativity are swarming in my head. Planetary bases, space bases and outposts. I will soon start building a new small ship. I replayed one favorite game the other day ... I think we need to get one trough out of there in the form of adaptation for a playable version in the EGS Well, I still don't understand where to put 6 lasers ... but we will push it somewhere You know ... I already wrote in some thread that this lack of balance with the size of the engines of small ships is a complete mess ... Building something really sane is simply difficult ... I cursed everything while building LIF Mad Spider.
Well, today I relearned how to get rid of the black bars for now. And while I was at it, upgraded my harvest HV to tier 2. For some reason, I don't think the Zirax like me too much. Currently, I don't mind their hostility too much either.
Update: Project Eden start Dark Rogue have now 0 solar power on the planet, as it should. Can survive if do a large biofuel farm though, along finding golems with some promethium.
After dinner, I figured out how to get my local dedicated server to show up in the listing so my nephew could join in. Of course, after our session, I turned off the server again. However, before calling it a night myself, I took a moment to fix a mistake I found I had made. At some point the Cultivate CV, my farming module for docking with a base, had been overwritten with the incomplete Fabricate CV. I had copies of the correct CV in my creative game. Now it so happened that the copies of the CV that I needed were over where one of my bases had glitched below ground level. I think that the glitch had created a cool effect of sorts, so I recorded my trip over and down to the glitch location.
Back to working on POIs. Here's the one I started today, the updated Xenu Weapon's Bunker next to the old one. They're the same size, but i've managed to squeeze more than double the internal content into the new one. Only some deco left to do then I do the texturing, painting and filling it with nasties.
you say "updated" but that looks totally new! (looks fantastic too). i feel like they could almost both stay in the game just to add more variety?
I agree they look great. But you know I just can't get it out of my head that the one on the right looks like a milk crate.
I was going to show you my new Cheep Transport build for my scenario. But after looking at all your stuff for the last day. Nope can't do it. You all have some awesome stuff showing. I just have a simple storage crate
Come on... don't fall for this ! Show yours anyway, and show us the stats page - that's the important part. Ask PvP players or Zirax commanders.
Sigh Where you spawn in. Transport Module side. where you spawn in. Your crate side. What happens when you take possession by flipping the lever
