Kriel faction standing

    Hi, I've started a new game, got my faction standing up by mainly killing zirax.
    My standing with the kriel is 5950 out of 6000. I'm on the starter planet, never left, not seen any kriel, no kriel territory on the planet.
    So how come my faction standing has gone down to unfriendly?

    The Alien Assassins and Hexapods (now called Drones and Controllers) are Kriel creatures instead of Legacy as of A12.3 so if you've killed any of the wild ones it will have made them rather unhappy with you.

    Yeah, I was a bit disheartened when I started a new game, got attacked by some creepy crawly, and suddenly the Kriel were hostile to me...I was like "THEY STARTED IT!"...

    Yeah, I had wondered the same thing. I had not attacked any Kriel, why so mad? Then I realized why.

    The alien assassin was in a legacy building and what the hell is a hexapod!

    Legacy Creatures are mostly found in Unknown or Abandonned Structures.
    Kriel Assassins are roaming the wild - there is only a Color difference between them
    Gray Assassins - aka Drones - are Legacy
    Black/glowing Red Assassins are Kriel

Is that an Smythe and Wilson SM-604, .60 caliber handgun? Those things are EPIC! I'll tell you what, you include that in the deal, I'll reduce my already low price on this fabulous used star ship, and even throw in a full tank of pentaxid, whatta ya say?"

    The only thing keeping Kriel rep is good for is to backstab them when they least expect it! They are the enemy, just look at them!
    Also, they have some good POIs to loot...

    My starter system in my last game had planets with legacy and kriel ships all over, 2 decimators, 2 infectors and a few very big kriel ships in orbit on one planet.
    I'd rather keep at least one of them on-side until I've finished the others off.

    I just started a new game in SP and these damn things are EVERYWHERE and attack me constantly. What the heck can you do but kill 'em?

    I found a Smugger's Hideout (small under ground base) that I expanded to be my starter base (well, it's grown pretty well now ...) and put two turrets (15mm and 30mm ammo) and two sentry guns and they must have some spawning plates out there because my guns go off constantly.

    If I run out to see what got killed it's sometimes Raptors, but 80% of the times it's our friend Smilin' Steve ... at least I get lots of Confetti and Fire Moss ... But now I've got to deal with TWO races that hate my guts. Fun. Rep is currently ZERO with them. {Sigh}

    Yup...the ol Kreil are more violent than the Zirax...on my current playthrough I considered becoming friends with the Zirax just so I could concentrate on these nasty little buggers.

    Yeah I was thinking that very thing.

    I haven't started my usual "wipe the Zirax off MY planet" routine yet so my status is currently "Unfriendly"

    Yup, the more I play the more I think this may be a bug (feature?) that they fix in the future. There are Legacy looking POIs around that are surrounded by Kreil, so going negative to them is pretty much a given. I am not 100% sure this was the intent to have roving wild Kreil all over the place to where it hurts ones standing.

    If it is...oh well...more baddies to pew pew.

    If you just let the turrets pick them off, it won't hit your rep. Even though they're "your" turrets, they neither gain nor lose rep for you. Now, if you take direct control of one of them... I do believe this will impact your rep, but when automated, they do not. On my current starter planet, I've had Zirax dropships flying overhead every other day. My turrets either shoot them down, or drive them off, and my rep has not moved.

    Really? I wondered about that the other day. I thought that was how it worked, but ...

    I was chillin' in my base doing some upgrades and did a check of my rep and checked again after two were shot by my base and my rep decreased.

    Hmm. I'm pretty sure I didn't take one out, just my turrets, now I'll have to check again once it ticks up past Z-E-R-O ... :rolleyes:

    EDIT: BTW - I'll always think of these guys a Smilin' Steve from now on. See what you've done??!

    You can just call him "Smiley" for short - I do, along with Bob the Blob, and the ubiquitous Dancing Bugs.

    Tho I'm really new in the game, I found it was way better to kill Kriels and therefore become frienly to Zirax and Pirates than the opposite.
    As from now, Kriels in your neighborhood are just blood-lust dispendable creatures. They don't run bases, infrastructures and so on. They have a territory in the galaxy but heck, who cares ? Not in your starter environment (I mean the closer other systems). It's much more worth befriending Zirax and Pirates. Imho.
