the rescource cost is quite different between Vanilla and RE. For now she is made out of steel blocks entirely. One of the reasons i call it a civilian vessel... For the first final upload i plan to strip down the turret count and maybe other devices so she could be used as a mid level explorer. Able to do all while not being very good. If i should have enough time, diverent versions with altered hulls and distinctive changes will be something i would like to do...
Today I... Well, more precisely, it was already the day before yesterday, my friend and I boarded the LIF Zeus and recaptured the starting system from the Zirax. And at the same time flew checked the ship in modern conditions. Even two patches later, he's just great. They fought with a frigate of Zirax, the battle probably lasted about 10 minutes. The cost of the repair cost about 180k credits. At the same time, all the insides of the bridge, the honey compartment and even the beginning of crafting were destroyed in the Zeus, the design makes it interesting to fly even now ... Probably tomorrow I will sit down to modernize it a little, it is necessary to slightly improve the equipment and deliver the engines =) put laser installations, although it will be separate modification. good, but your ship won't survive the zirax frigate =) Only combat armor, only hardcore
Did some more work on my CV. Reduced the mounting points for turrets by six. A tough choice, but that allowed me to change the hull a bit to keep the topside SV hangar. Actually made it to the point where I was feeling good about the T3 proposal and so I then stripped that down to T2 for the BP factory. For a moment there I was wondering why it was a level 20 unlock until I remembered the T2 repair bay. Left the repair console because it has been integrated into the looks by giving it a chair, but taking the repair bay out and and making it an upgrade allowed to put a few things back in along with putting 4 cannon turrets back on top. Replaced the L thrusters with an arrangement of M and S thrusters. The T3 version doesn't use any S thrusters, so I would probably deconstruct those and use the M thrusters elsewhere on the vessel that had the M thrusters stripped out to downgrade the CV to T2. The next step will be all the signal work along with device groupings plus power management. That will be a lot of work. Once it is ready for the workshop, I will probably do a video with tour and demonstrating upgrading the CV. Because I dropped the 6 turret mounting spots, this CV will only have two more turrets than the smaller CV but will be able to lift so very much more.... Just realized I made a mistake in my math. I was calculating the excess lift capacity that could be converted to included container space based on carrying only four of the Carri-On 4U, but this CV could actually carry eight of those SV in the main hangar. Ugh. I was so excited that it was going to have decent containers of its own. So instead of 512k SU estimated cargo lift capacity, I am going to have to reduce that 48k SU capacity on the CV. Why did I create those container SV? Just so I get excited and then discover my calculations were significantly off? Grateful that most of my CV are not designed to carry those SV. Those SV hold up to 116k SU each.
I made a Creative Scenario with space/ planet duo to be able to use the creative tools in my test playfields without risking to f**k up the terrain by switching modes in a survival game. Works pretty well, much easier to make structures "in place" to have the exact terrain measures and positions, so they will place exactly the same with coordinates in the normal survival playfield yaml.
Remembered my recent playthrough is with Reforged Galaxy, not Reforged Eden. Gotta still say this work done is absolutely amazing. After bashing my head on my keyboard more times than I can remember I was finally able to spawn a starter CV and get out of the absolute nightmare of a starter system. Drones, Zirax, interceptors, legacy...man it was a wild ride. I spent about 2 hours last night clearing the Abandoned Reactor POI. I ran out of ammo, had to craft stuff on the go with surrounding ore rocks, ran out of health items, and just accepted death as part of it. Run in, kill a bit and die...spawn back, rush in, kill a bit, die. But finally got it hammered out. Salvaged straight into the factory when I could. Made it back to my humble base, and spawned the Skaar Bago. Loaded it up, and off to a new starter system with just enough Pentaxid for the trip. Was actually worried I would run out and be stuck at a star. But found a system with a pentaxid asteroid with a whipping 1 crystal left. Learned that the Bago is awesome, but not set up for the Reforged scenario, and flies at a blistering 53mps in space. But...there are no drones. No enemy capital ships. No interceptors. I dont mind limping around while I gather the precious ores I was lacking back on my hell hole of a starter planet. And when I return, Ill upgrade the thrusters, and then take the war back to the Zirax.
@Kassonnade How can I get this wonderful planet of yours into my game as a size 4 or 5 ? I had inspiration last night for a base I want to try out!
The planets I showed on this thread all use custom stamps that have to be included in the game's default stamps folder and it also requires modifying the stampdatabase.txt in that same folder. I can provide these files and stamps, you would just need to make a back-up of the original folder and I could put a zip file (link) on the forum. You could make a back-up of this zip file too in case updates replace the modded files. Is this a game already started and you would want to add this playfield in there somewhere ? That is a rather complex procedure, from what I saw here ( post #140) : https://empyriononline.com/threads/a12-exp-the-galaxy.92646/page-7 .
Yeah you are right! In it initial state she will have trouble against a combat frigate. But unlike other games everyone has the ability to change her to whatever one prefers. Its a building game, too. So i give you a starting point from which you can build up to your own desires. If all combat steel is your goal, than upgrade her to it and loose thrust to evade fire. You need more firepower than change the weapon layout. T1 shield is to weak, put an T2 on her. From a design standpoint she gives many posibillities. The bridge for excample has 2-3 layers of steel, converted to hardend or combat steel this gives a good amount of defence. The details i put on my builds aren't meant solely for looks but although to take hits before essential components get damaged. So the front arms are protecting the weapons and the bridge while looking cool. (for my taste at least )
Make a Copy, unarmed and weak, and offer it to the Devs on the Thread-> https://empyriononline.com/threads/workshop-suggestions.94660/ We need ships for the Civilian Faction
Today I... Sat in the creative, remade a little Zeus and I realized one simple truth ... of course I will post CP2 later somehow But I like him and so ... So I recharged myself with energy and when I need to take a break from Valorant again, I will pounce on the completion of My aircraft carrier with renewed vigor.
Been wandering around today checking out places. Noticed the Civ areas were a bit weak on trading. So to the starter area and headed off to the Pol region. Then it dawned on me I needed some more storage. As my CV is almost max'ed on CPU I decided to make some extra external storage. These are two new CV Storage I called Shelf Pods all in a single cube height I get an extra 230K of storage per pod. Why more storage you ask. Well there is a reason I like my mining boat/camper It so easy to collect and place auto miners. All from it's back door.
Well decided to head further into Pol territory and stop tonight on a small planet. That was breathable It does have an interesting sector to look at. I had turned around and saw this You can just make out the horizontal plane of the star systems. Seeing that thin line of stars made me think maybe we don't live in a totally random place. When I landed on the planet, well I wouldn't call it home. Hey at least I can breath
Today in Empyrion I discovered the point at which immersion breaking overtakes interest in playing: Yup, that's it. I can't bear the thought of another fresh start just now, and fighting through jungles and layers of grass in the middle of most POIs is more than my imagination can handle, so that's my lot. No doubt I'll be back in a couple of days though. Empyrion is weirdly addictive, even if I'm not always sure why, and "Addiction > Frustration".
